Matthews 'Mackie' Fletcher, 92
Matthews "Mackie" Fletcher, 92, of Pewee Valley, died Dec. 15, 2004, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville's inpatient unit at Norton Healthcare Pavilion.
He was born Sept. 7, 1912, in Indianapolis, attended Brown University, was a Naval Officer in World War II, a retired postmaster in Pewee Valley and a lifelong member of Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian "Hunny Bunny" Fletcher, and a nephew, Paul Fletcher.
Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Thompson; four grandchildren, Angela Lasseigne and Michael, Edward and Lee Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Megan Lasseigne.
Services were Monday at Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church.

Henry Allen Puckett, 55
Henry Allen Puckett, 55, of La Grange, died Dec. 10, 2004, at Baptist Hospital Northeast.
He was a native of Oldham County, a machinist for McCord Technology Inc., an Army Veteran of the war in Vietnam and a member of La Grange Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Joshua Puckett; a daughter, Tobey Puckett; a granddaughter, Cynthia Pearl Smith; three brothers, Jim, Charles and Jesse Puckett; and two sisters, Minnie Martin and June Woodcock.
Services were Monday at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, with the Rev. Louis Schuler officiating. Burial followed in Floydsburg cemetery.
Pallbearers were Heath Truman, Scott Black, Keith Woodcock, Paul Puckett, Christopher Puckett, Robert Puckett, Luther Puckett and Edward Puckett.
Memorial gifts may go to the American Cancer Association.
William Mason Dixon, 71
La Grange
William Mason Dixon, 71, of La Grange, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010, at Baptist Hospital East.
He was a retired band director for Henry and Shelby County Schools. He belonged to the Kentucky Music Educators’ Association, Kentucky and Henry County Retired Teachers’ Association, Kentucky Education Association, Henry and Shelby County Education Association. He also was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and former exalted ruler of Elk Lodge No. 8.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Gail Dixon; brother, Tom (Judy) Dixon; sister, Lynne Drane; brother-in-law, David (Claudia) Buchheit; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Wednesday at Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Burial took place in Valley of Rest cemetery.

Charles E. ‘Bennie’ Evans, 81

Charles E. “Bennie” Evans, 81, of Louisville, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010.
He was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Louisville, to the late Harvey Evans and Myrtle Lee Wright Evans. He was owner and president of Evans Construction, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Catherine Joy Adams; son, Mark (Ann) Evans; daughter, Lynda (Kenneth “Shorty”) Farvour; five grandchildren, Brooke Evans, Ashlee Kent, Whitney Fortner and Bradley and Brandon Farvour; and a brother, Harvey (Bobbie) Evans Jr.
Mass took place Friday at Mercy Academy. Burial took place at Cave Hill cemetery.
Pearson-Ratterman Bros. Funeral Home in Middletown handled arrangements.

Barbara Lee Hundley, 60

Barbara Lee Hundley, 60, of Crestwood, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at U of L Medical Center.
She was a member of Rob Morris Chapter No. 114 Order of Eastern Star, a Christian and worked for Humana.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ira F. Hundley.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Hundley; sisters, Claudette H. (Tom) Taylor and Alayne (Dan) Stinchcomb; 12 nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
Service were Sunday at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services and an Eastern Star service took place as well.
Burial took place at Valley of Rest cemetery.
Her family wishes to express gratitude to doctors, nurses and staff at U of L Medical Center.

Patricia King, 54, of Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010, in Elizabethtown. Survivors include her husband, Robert C. King of Leitchfield; a son, Josh (Tara Moneypenny) King of New Albany, Ind.; and a daughter, Delisa Dickens of Charlestown, Ind.
Services were Nov. 10 at Bagdad cemetery.

Kirk Wesley Bertagnole, 44, of Goshen, died peacefully Friday, December 3, 2010.
A native of Casper, Wyo., he is the son of the Dixie Bertagnole and the late Scott Bertagnole.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and three nephews.
He was a member of the Crestwood 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He earned a master’s degree from Brigham Young University and was an entrepreneur/owner of several small businesses; founder of Green Earth Options LLC.; regional vice president of Savage Services; and chief operating officer of Truck and Industrial Supply.
Survivors include his wife, Audra Kleinman Bertagnole; his son, Cameron; and daughters, Kaylin, Bethany, Danica and Lynae Bertagnole; and 12 siblings, Martin “Mike” Bertagnole of Casper, Wyo., Robert Bertagnole of Olathe, Kan., David Bertagnole of Casper, Karl Bertagnole of Wright, Wyo., Gary Bertagnole of Eagle Mt., Utah, Cindy Maxwell of Casper, Debbie Gordon of Draper, Utah, Nathan Bertagnole of Casper, Wendy Barrett of Rapid City, S.D., Bryan Bertagnole of Casper, Cheryl Ringer of Gillette, Wyo., and Kristin Peacock of Hoschton, Ga.
Services were Dec. 9 at the Crestwood Stake Center, 6401 Westwind Way. Burial took place at Floydsburg cemetery. Shoppenhorst Underwood Brooks funeral home handled arrangements.

Bertha “Bert” Marie Pearl, 68, of Crestwood, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010.
She was retired from the Air National Guard 123rd Mission Support Flight.
She was a member of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church and active in supporting the St. Jude charity.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Pearl; and a sister, Beverly A. Skinner.
Survivors include three daughters, Penney (Curtis) Carpenter, Bobbie Moore, Milissa Pearl; two brothers, James R. Willett, Charles M. Willett; and four grandchildren.
A funeral Mass took place Saturday at Saint Aloysius Church in Pewee Valley.
Burial took place in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
Oldham County Funeral Home handled arrangements.
