Marie K. Hammer died Wednesday April 2, 2003 at The Forum @ Brookside Louisville, KY.
She was the former Marie Katherine O'Keefe and a native of Des Moines, Iowa. She was a graduate of Drake University and taught kindergarten in the Iowa school system and several years at the Chance school in Louisville. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women, The Arts Club of Louisville, and The American Association of University Women.
preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Hammer.
Survived by daughter, Gretchen Marie Emery; Ashland, OH. Son, James Doyle Hammer; Prospect, KY. Grandchildren, Brooke Shepard, Jonathan Emery, Scott Hammer & Stacy Steward. Eight great grandchildren.
Funeral service 10 AM Monday, April 7, 2003, Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane. Entombment Resthaven Mausoleum. Visitation 2-5 PM Sunday.

John Alexander Baldridge
John Alexander Baldridge, 78, of Louisville, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah, GA.
He was a retired employee of US Corrugated, formerly Boone Box Co., a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Christ Church United Methodist and Hurstbourne Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Flo Ivens, two sons, James Alexander (Carissa) and John Douglas (Darla), and three grandchildren, Anne Summer, John Richardson and Evan Alexander.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Rd., with burial in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Ln.

Stephen E. Barnes
Stephen E. Barnes, 38, of Louisville, died Sunday at Baptist Hospital East.
He was president of Stephen E. Barnes Bookkeeping & Tax Service, Inc. He was a licensed enrolled agent, a Kentucky Colonel and a US Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Laura E. Barnes, and children, Stephen Brent Barnes, Gabrielle Jerrianna Darlene Barnes and Stephen Jeremy Barnes.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Pearson's in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn Ruth Davis
Evelyn Ruth Davis, infant daughter of David and Gretchen Davis, was born April 26, 2003. She died on May 27, 2003, at her home in Louisville.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Ruth Wukasch of West Lafayette, IN; paternal grandparents, Scott and Dee Dee Davis of Louisville; and her brother, Jacob Davis.
Funeral and burial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Christ Church Cathedral. Pearson's provided funeral services.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Louisville.
Marilyn Rankin Ogden
Marilyn Rankin "Lynn" Ogden, 80, of Louisville and Lake Forest, IL, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Louisville's inpatient unit at Norton Audubon Hospital.
She was born in Minneapolis, MN, grew up in Pekin, IL, and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1944.
She was predeceased by her son, Bruce R. Ogden.
She is survived by her husband, G. William Ogden; and son, Peter W. Ogden.
Services will be held at 11:30 am Friday, May 30, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, followed by burial in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday, May 29.

Fred H. Bower
Fred H. Bower, 85, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at his residence.
He was a native of Dubuque, Iowa and retired CPA with Eskew & Gresham PSC. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Past President of KY. Society of CPA's. Former member Kentucky State Board of Accountancy and numerous national committees of AICPA. He was a graduate of University of Iowa.

Survived by his wife, the former Helen Snider. Brother-in-law, Elmer Snider. Sister-in-law, Aline Snider. Several neices & nephews.

Virgil L. Zink
Virgil L. Zink, 91, of Louisville, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit of Norton Audubon Hosital.
He was retired Bookeeping Department Manager for Henry Vogt Machine Co. and a World War II US Army Veteran. He was a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, KY.
He is survived by a sister, Marguerite Kortz of Georgetown, KY; a niece, Mrs. Charles "Kitty" Fightmaster of Lexington, KY; and a nephew, Millard Zink Jr. of Columbia, SC.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, May 29, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation is from 3-7 pm Wednesday, May 28. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 30, in Lexington cemetery.

Helen M. Weatherby
Helen M. Weatherby, 92, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2003, at Baptist Hospital East.
She was a native of Paulsboro, NJ. She married
Edmund Weatherby Jr. on Feb. 21, 1933 in Atlantic City, NJ. to whom she was happily married
for 69 years until he passed away on August 14, 2002. Mrs. Watherby was a member of teh PEO Sisterhood and St Matthews Episcopal Church and an avid knitter.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Kim Strange, Lance Weatherby, Britt Weatherby, Edmund "Ned" Weatherby IV and Rob Powers; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Faye Weatherby.
Her son, Edmund Weatherby III, also preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 330 North Hubbards Lane.

Virginia P. Watjen
Virginia P. Watjen, 92, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003, at her residence.
She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, an alumna of the University of Louisville and a charter member of the University Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred B. Watjen.
She is survived by her stepdaughters, Mary Ann Vowels (Thomas L.) and Betsy Ellis (Jordon D.), seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand-daughters.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Ln. A service of celebration of life will be in the chapel at Pearson's at 11:30 a.m. Monday, followed by burial in Evergreen cemetery.

Richard Taylor Wade
Richard Taylor Wade, of Woodlawn Park, Louisville, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Norton Hospital.
He was a professional electrical engineer, a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, the Scottish Rite and Kosair Temple, Past Master of Masonic Lodge #750 and a councilman of the City of Woodlawn Park. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth W. Rosenbaum of Reston, VA, and Mrs. Margaret W. Henderson; a son, Richard T. Wade III of Orlando, FL; a brother, Joe Wade; five grandchildren; and two great-grand-children.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 330 N. Hubbards Lane, with burial in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.

Mildred Means Frost
Mildred Means Frost, 103, of Louisville, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Frost is survived by her two nephews, Dr. James A. Means of Milwaukee, WI, and Robert H. Means Sr., and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
A private memorial service will be held with burial in Arlington (VA) National cemetery. Pearson's is in charge of arrangements.
