Patricia Lynne Huecker
Patricia Lynne Huecker, 46, of Louisville passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Baptist Hospital East after a valiant battle against lung cancer. Her devoted family was by her side.
She was the former Patricia "Lynne" Scott, born October 7, 1960 in Mobile, AL. She was a graduate of Waggener High School and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She spent the majority of her career as a respected member of the commercial and residential real estate community. She was a certified apartment manager(CAM) with the National Apartment Association and most recently spent 10 years in management at the Crescent Centre in downtown Louisville.
She was very involved in her loving son, "Beau's", education, culminating with the opportunity to serve as president of the Atherton High School P.T.A. She had many hobbies and interests, including spending time on the river with her husband, Laurance. She loved trips to Las Vegas and was always a winner. Her latest passion was painting and her talent was rewarded with a ribbon at this year's State Fair in the watercolor category. Most importantly, Lynne loved her family deeply and that love was returned tenfold. We will always remember her sense of humor, compassion, and loving, caring heart.
Survived by her husband, Laurance Huecker; son, Virgil Vertress (Danielle); mother, Elaine Elgie (Rodney); father, Jim Scott (Tracie Cox Scott); sister, Joan Mehr (Charles); brother, James Scott (Cindi); granddaughter, Avery; uncles, Tom and Jerry Scott; nieces and nephews, Lauren, Heather, Martin, Shannon and Sam; her beloved cats, Domino and Checkers; and many other friends and family. Words cannot express how much we will miss her. Rest in Peace, Lynne.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road. Visitation is from 1-3, & 4-8 pm Wednesday, January 24, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Burial will be at 12 noon Saturday, January 27, at Calvary cemetery.
Memorial gifts may go to the Kentucky Humane Society.
Kathryn Dale Milner
Kathryn Dale Milner, 94, lived in Louisville for 53 years. She joined her beloved husband of 58 years, Alfred Milner, and their beloved daughter, Melissa, in heaven on April 23, 2007 while living at the Fountain View Living Center in Fountain Hills, AZ.
She had lived there for the past four years to be close to her brother, Robert E. Lucas, who also preceded her in passing; and her sister-in-law, Madeline Lucas, currently of Fountain Hills, AZ.
Katie was born February 14,1913, in Hartford City, IN, to Eula Dale and James Lucas. A graduate of Muncie Central High School in Muncie, IN, where she had met Alfred, she also attended Ball State University. While living in Louisville she was involved in many community activities, including the Women's Club of Louisville, and was a devoted member of the congregation at the Douglas Boulevard Christian Church, where she led a Bible class for many years that included many loyal friends.
She is survived by nephew, Daniel Lucas of New Market, MD; niece, Kathleen Law of White Fish, MT; niece, Susan Heyvaert of Maple Plain, MN; and sister-in-law, Madeline Lucas.
Although her memory failed her in later years, she never lost her wonderful sense of humor, her graciousness and kindness to all, and her focus on the good things in her life.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, followed at 2 p.m. by a graveside service in Cave Hill cemetery with Reverend Dean Bucolos presiding.
Delores J. Baker
Delores J. Baker, 64, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Norton Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Mrs. Baker was a member of Parkland Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Baker; and son, Robert Stanley Baker.
Survivors include daughters, Tammy, Rhonda and Kim Baker, and Helen Wise (Bill); her son, Robby Baker (Sherrie); grandchildren, Tiffanie and Taffanie Patterson; five step-granddaughters; and brothers, Roger Sr., Sonny and Tommy Stillwell.
Funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, with burial in Evergreen cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday.
Eleanor Ruth Erwin Whitehead
Eleanor Ruth Erwin Whitehead, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007 peacefully at Christopher East Nursing Center.
Born to Earl and Ruth Erwin at Dekoven, KY, on May 27, 1922. Her special qualities of kindness and gentleness are cherished by her family and friends.
preceded in death by her husband, Neil H. Whitehead Jr.; and her brother, John R. Erwin.
Survived by sons, Neil H. Whitehead III (Ann) of Conifer, CO, and John R. Whitehead of Harrods Creek, KY.
Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday at Broadway Baptist Church, 4000 Brownsboro Road, with burial in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation: 2-6 p.m. Thursday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane.

Gordon B. Ford Jr.
Gordon B. Ford, JR. Ph.D., 69, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at his residence.
Dr. Ford was the son of the late Rubye Allen and Gordon B. Ford. He was an excellent scholar who achieved many academic awards throughout his career. He graduated from Eastern High School, where he was valedictorian of his class. He was a graduate of Princeton University with Phi Beta Kappa distinction and then went on to get his Ph.D. degree from Harvard University with highest honors. Dr. Ford then went forward to be a professor at several universities while writing and publishing works in his field of linguistics having retired from Northwestern University.
He is survived by his sister, Gayle Ford Whittenberg; his niece, Caroline Root; and his stepmother, Glenda Ford.
Private graveside services will be held at Cave Hill cemetery. Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Ln., is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Ellen Reinecke
Mary Ellen Reinecke, 66, of Charlestown, IN., died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a retired registered nurse at Central State Hospital. She will be loved and missed by everyone whose heart she touched.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Reisert; sons, Fred and Frank M. Reinecke; brother, Emery Fowler; sisters, Gladys Keck, Jewel McNames and Helen Leonard; dear friend, Phyllis Kelly; and six grandchildren.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Friday at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane, with burial Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation: 5-9 p.m. Thursday.

Janet Cogswell Nicolet Curtis
Janet Cogswell Nicolet Curtis, 88, formerly of Louisville, died May 1, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mrs. Curtis was born in Washington, DC, was raised on the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay and graduated from Easton High School, Easton, MD. She was active in the St. Matthews Girl Scouts and was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church where she was the representative from Calvin to the board for the Furlough Home of the Presbyterian Seminary.
Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George Bryan Curtis.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Bishop, Atlanta, GA, Marilynn Jackson, Lakeland, FL and Nancy Douglas, Eatonton, GA; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside service to be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Ln.

Frank Edward App M.D.
Frank Edward App, M.D., 88, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007 at his residence.
He was a practicing physician in the Louisville area for 35 years until his retirement in 1986. He then served as medical director for ZLB Plasma Services until his death. Dr. App was also a flight surgeon in the US Air Force during the Korean War, a member of Christ Church United Methodist, Jefferson County Medical Society, Louisville OB/GYN Society, and was an avid supporter of the University of Louisville, as well as a fan of its athletics.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter, Susan Schmied (John); son, Walter Edward App, M.D. (Donna); grandchildren Melissa Weisenburger (Sean), Mark Andrew Potts, and Alexander and Steven App; and great- grandchildren, Lauryn and Sean Patrick Weisenburger.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Ln., with private burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Anna Tarpey 79, of Louisville passed away June 30, 2011
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Thomas Tarpey.
Survived buy her children Claire, Brian, Theresa, and Kevin, and her grandchildren Adrianne, Brooke, and Gregory.

Mark Joseph Steffen
Mark Joseph Steffen, 60, died Wednesday July 6, 2011 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.
He was Global HRSG Technology Team Leader for General Electric Corp. He worked in the boiler industry beginning in 1979 at Babcock & Wilcox Co. and he was former Project Engineer for Vogt. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Tennessee and he was a US Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Sellers DDG-11. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Wiggins Steffen, daughter, Laura Marilyn Steffen, son, Benjamin Joseph Steffen (Allison Takach), his mother, Helen Steffen; Dubuque, Iowa, sister, Elaine Hansen; Decorah, Iowa, brother, Vernon Steffen; Chicago, IL., a grandchild, Shannon Abigail Steffen.
Funeral service will be 10 AM Monday at Pearson’s 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial to follow in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation 2-6 PM Sunday.

Virginia Marcum
Virginia Marcum 90, died peacefully at her home July 4, 2011
She was retired from The Louisville Presbyterian Seminary where she served as Presidents Secretary for many years. She was a member of The Woman’s Club of Louisville and a longtime member of Highland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Max Marcum, grandson Dakota Marcum.
She is survived by her son Max “Hardy” Marcum (Sally), grandson Forest Marcum (Allison) and her beloved great grandchildren Laine, Laila, and Reid.
Memorial service Friday July 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Pearson’s 149 Breckenridge Lane with private burial in Cave Hill cemetery.
