Charles (Chad) Mullins, 56, of William Branch, Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2003, at Highland Regional Hospital, Prestonsburg.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2003, 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church of McDowell, Kentucky Visitation will be held at the church after 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Inc.
Nathan Casey
Nathan Casey, 72 years of age, formerly of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 at his home in Richmond, Kentucky
He was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Phelps, the son of the late John and Verna Stump Casey.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Tilda Layne and Virgie Casey; and three brothers, Elmer, Estil and Dave Casey.
He was a retired coal miner and businessman and of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy (Dotson) Casey of Richmond; daughter, Brenda (Mose) Smith Jr., also of Richmond; sisters, Georgie Turner of Berea, Kentucky, Dorothy Taylor of Phelps, and Jeanette (Earl) Miller of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; brothers, John Walter Casey of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Donald Layne of Phelps; grandson, Nathan Dwayne Smith of Frankfort; granddaughter, Tricia (Ken) Stegman of Richmond; greatgrandchildren, Kelsie, Andy and Joshua.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, noon at the R. S. Jones and Son Funeral Home in Phelps with Rev. Marvin Casey and Rev. Daris Casey officiating. Entombment will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park at Pikeville, Kentucky
Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. on Saturday at the chapel with services at 7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of the R. S. Jones and Son Funeral Home, Phelps, Kentucky
Juanita Taylor
Juanita Taylor, 83, of Parkview Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Canada, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Parkview Manor in Robinson Creek, Kentucky
Born Oct. 13, 1920, to the late James Gannon and Eula Church Gannon, she was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Taylor; brothers, Fred Gannon and Teddy Gannon; and sisters, Esta Gannon Brown and Bessie Gannon Stanley.
She is survived by her brother, James Gannon of Canada.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov 3, 2003, 11 a.m., at Justice Funeral Home, Pikeville, Kentucky, with burial following at Bent Ridge cemetery, Pike County, Kentucky
Visitation will be held Sunday at 5:30 p.m. with a service at 6 p.m. at Justice Funeral Home.

David Martin Cook
David Martin Cook, 51, of London, Kentucky, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital, Pikeville, Kentucky
He was born April 21, 1952, in London, a son of Roseta Fiechter Cook of London and the late Eugene Cook.
He was the sales manager of Cook Tire.
David is survived by his wife Gail Yaden Cook, of London; a son, Dayne Cook, of London; a daughter Chera-Lyn (Jason) Cook Kennedy of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister, Connie (Glenn) Cook Johnson of London; three brothers, Dr. Eugene (Martha) Cook of Murray, Kentucky; and Ted (Debbie) Cook and Denny (Faye) Cook, both of London.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Lester officiating.
Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park, London.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at the funeral home.

Arlon Smith
Arlon Smith, 71, of Inez, Kentucky, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at Inez, Kentucky
Born Nov. 1, 1931, in Martin County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late McKinley and Nannie Fields Smith.
In addition to his parents, Arlon was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Smith and Larry Smith.
A coal miner, Arlon retired from Petercave Coal Company.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Smith; four sons, Roger Smith and Matt Smith, both of Inez; Thomas Smith and William Timothy Smith, both of Lovely, Kentucky; a daughter, Lisa Stayton of Inez; five brothers, Tony Smith of Louisa, Kentucky; John Smith and Everett Smith, both of Inez; Reaford Smith of Hamilton, Ohio; and Ernest Smith of Lavalette W. Va.; two sisters, Ella Hall of Inez and Bertina Moore of Pilgrim, Kentucky, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at the Warfield, Kentucky, Chapel of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home with Lonnie Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the McKinley Smith cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 and Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at the Warfield chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
Maxine Young
Maxine Young, 88, of Hatfield, Kentucky died September 27, 2003 at Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
Born September 30, 1914 in Pike County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Joe Bud Burris and Vada Young Burris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Young, and a sister, Lakie Robinette.
A member of Joy United Baptist Church, she was a retired clerk for G.C. Murphy Dept. Store and a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Anita Carol Taylor of Sidney, Kentucky; a brother, Virgil Burris of Hatfield, Kentucky, and two sisters, Hattie Bevins and Luna Bevins, both of Hatfield, Kentucky, and one grandchild, William Todd Taylor of Sidney, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home with Bells of Joy United Baptist Church ministers officiating. Burial will follow at the Bevins cemetery at Hatfield, KY.
Special services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday night.
Pallbearers will be Woody Robinette, Neal Young, Doug Young, Gary Kennith Young, Burton Bevins and Richard Lowe.
Visitation will be Sunday and Monday at 6 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home.

Brian Keith Allen, 33, of Kimper, Kentucky, died Monday morning in Williamson, W. Va., after a brief illness.

Randell Crum
Randell D. Crum, 51, of Inez, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 8, 2003, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Born June 19, 1952, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Carl Crum of Lovely, Kentucky and the late Frances Crum. He was a disabled coal miner.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carletta Crum.
Surviving in addition to his father are his daughters, Jackie Crum Ward of Elk Creek, Kentucky and Melissa Crum Hall of Lenore, W. Va.; brother, Danny Crum of Delaware; sisters, Cathy Queen of Huntington, W. Va., Wanda Stone of Big Elk Creek, Kentucky, Carol Davis of Tomahawk, Kentucky, Sharon Crum of Big Elk Creek, Kentucky and Nancy Carter of Ashland, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2003, 11 a.m., at Warfield Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard cemetery, Warfield, Kentucky
Visitation will be held at Warfield Funeral Chapel after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
