Bradley Sullivan
Bradley Sullivan, 50, of Ransom, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Ransom, Kentucky
He was born March 21, 1954, in Matewan, W.Va., to the late Jess Sullivan and Joannie Hatfield Sullivan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Sullivan; grandfathers, Joe Hatfield and Melvin Sullivan; and grandmothers, Sironie Sullivan and Mary Sullivan.
Surviving are his brothers, Floyd Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky, William Earl (Peggy) Sullivan of McCarr, Kentucky, Stirl Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky and Burl Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky; sisters, Ada (Chester) Church of Ransom, Kentucky, Christine Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky and Mary Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky; nieces, Dorithea Hayton and Lilly Sullivan; and great niece Madison Hayton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 2004, 11 a.m., at Hatfield Funeral Chapel with Floyd Jr. Church officiating. Interment will follow at Family cemetery, Left Fork, Ransom, Kentucky with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Wednesday and anytime Thursday at the funeral home.
Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler, Kentucky has assisted the family with arrangements.
Raymond Cole
Raymond H. Cole, 76, of South Williamson, Kentucky, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky
Born Sept. 30, 1927, at War Eagle, W.Va., he was a son of the late Patsy Cole and Alva Spencer Cole Reynolds.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his Garnet O'Bryan Cole and a daughter, Barbara Lhea Cole.
He was a retired conductor for N&W Railroad and a member of the Belfry First Baptist Church. Raymond was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II, a member of the Masonic Lodge at Stone, Kentucky, and the Stone chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where he served as the past worthy patron.
Survivors include: a son, Raymond B. (Sandi) Cole of Morehead, Kentucky; a sister Ethel (Frank) Loyer of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jackie (Kim) Cole and Chris (Tonya) Cole and three great-grandchildren, Whitney Cole, Dylan Cole and Caleb Cole.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Monday, May 3, 2004, at Hatfield Funeral Chapel, Toler, Kentucky, with Rev. Mark Helton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Garden, Huddy, Kentucky
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the funeral home with Eastern Star rites at 7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hatfield Funeral Chapel.
Betty Hayes
Betty Hayes, 76, of Beauty, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Columbus, Ohio.
She was born August 27, 1927, to the late Lewis and Roxie Stepp Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claybourne Hayes, Sr.; three nieces, Carol Baldwin, Donna and Sharon Young; a sister-in-law, Flora Boldwen; and brothers, Curtis Young and Burbage Brown.
Surviving are her nephew, Curtis (wife Nancy) Young of Beauty, Kentucky; nieces, Brenda (Junior) Horn of Columbus, Ohio, Roxanna Hamed of Columbus, Ohio, Kay (Donnie) Ayers of Columbus, Ohio, Emily (Leslie) Howell of Columbus, Ohio; eight great-nieces; five great-nephews; and one great-great nephew.
A special thanks to Wilma and James Sparks of Ashville, Ohio for their help and support.
Funeral services will be held at Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church Saturday, May 22, 2004, 1 p.m., with Ray Messer, Jr. and Albert Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 20, after 5 p.m. at the Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church and until time of service.

Virgil Mounts
Virgil Mounts, 76, of Freeburn, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at the Appalachian Regional Skilled Nursing Facility in South Williamson, Kentucky
He was born on January 10, 1928, at Freeburn, Kentucky, the son of the late Earl and Letha Francis Mounts.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Dean Mounts; two brothers, Arlie and Arie Mounts; and one sister, Tressie Wolford.
He was a retired coal miner from Kentucky Carbon Coal Company and of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife, Etta Mae Stump Mounts of Freeburn, Kentucky; one son, Larry Gene (Angela) Mounts of Freeburn, Kentucky; seven daughters, Alice Mounts of Freeburn, Linda Gaye (Tilford) Adams of Cave Run, Kentucky, Delores Ann (Larry) Maynard of Phelps, Kentucky, Deborah Kay (Dean) Hall of Granite Falls, N.C., Donna Sue (Herman) Dotson of Cave Run, Kentucky, Letha Gayle (Danny) Mayhorn of Cave Run, Kentucky, and Michelle Louise Mounts of Freeburn, Kentucky; and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2004, 1 p.m., at the R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Phelps, Kentucky, with Rev. Darius Casey and Rev. Benny Freeman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mounts Family cemetery at Freeburn.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Phelps, Kentucky, with services nightly at 7 p.m.

Joyce Bevins
Joyce M. Bevins, 70, of Bent Branch Road, Meta, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Mountain View Health Care Center.
Born December 11, 1933, in Pike County, Kentucky, to the late Forrest Bevins and Hazel Blackburn Bevins, she was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Stacy Bevins; two brothers, James Lee and Bobby "BeBe"; and two sisters, Mary Lou Hatmaker and Shirley Faye Bevins.
Surviving are her sons, Steve Bevins of Jefferson City, Tenn. and David W. Bevins of Upper Chloe Road, Pikeville, Kentucky; brothers, Doug Bevins of Meta, Kentucky; a sister, Eunice Ward of Kimper, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Lance David Bevins and Jason Bevins, both of Upper Chloe Road, Pikeville, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held at Community Funeral Home, Sunday, May 23, 2004, 2 p.m. with Willie Abshire officiating. Burial will follow at Bentridge cemetery, Meta, Kentucky

Anna White
Anna Grace Blackburn White, 82, of Pikeville, Kentucky, formerly of Williamson, died on Monday, March 15, 2004, at the Riverview Manor in Prestonsburg, Kentucky
She was born on Nov. 17, 1921, at Forest Hills, Kentucky, the daughter of the late French and Agnes Varney Blackburn. She was employed most recently by and retired from Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Pikeville, and with Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, as a nurse aide. She was employed by Theftford Cleaners in Williamson for several years. She attended Pike County grammar schools and Belfry High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garner White; and her sisters, Susie Stanley, Pauline Lowe, Francis Stedlt, Emogene Baldridge Bryant and Lillian Hoskins.
She is survived by two sisters and a brother, Mary Jayne Varney of Baldwin, Mich., Willa Marie Potter of Lexington, and William F. Blackburn of Forest Hills and Longboat Key, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, W. Robert Hamlin and Palmaneda Hamlin of Huntington, W.Va.; a grandson son and his wife, Michael and Jennifer Hamlin of Johnson City, Tenn.; a great-granddaughter, Kathryn Blair Hamlin of Johnson City; a very special sister-in-law and her husband, Shelby and Don Willis of Prestonsburg; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Pikeville.
Funeral services will at noon, Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the Lucas and Hall Funeral Home in Pikeville with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, Kentucky
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, March 19, at the Funeral Home.
Wilburn Borum
Wilburn Lloyd Borum, 76, of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 30, 2004, at his home.
Born September 3, 1927, in Oklahoma, he was a truck driver. Mr. Borum was of the Church of God faith. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Marilee Young Borum of Phelps, Kentucky; son, Craig Steven Borum (Kimberly Dawn) of Fort Lewis, Wash.; one grandchild, Amber Rechelle Borum of Fort Lewis, Wash.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 3, 2004, 1:30 p.m., at Phelps Funeral Services' Chapel with Otto Young and others officiating. Burial will follow at the Burt Blankenship cemetery at Billy Dotson Branch of Phelps, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 6 p.m., in the chapel with a special service being held Sunday, May 2, 2004, at 7 p.m.

Lula Mae Trout
Lula Mae Rogers Trout, 80, of Canada, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 8, 2004, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital.
Born June 15, 1923, in Tennessee, to the late Simmie Rogers Sr., she was a homemaker and a member of Sharondale Church of Christ.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Trout.
Surviving are her sons, Jonah Bevins Trout Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Eddie Trout of Las Vegas, Nev. and Ricki Trout of Canada, Kentucky; brothers, Dean Rogers of Columbus, Ohio and Simmie Rogers of Columbus, Ohio; and sister, Betty Burke of Norfolk, Va.; seven grandchildren, Kelley Connell, Michelle Collins, Jason, Nick, Caitlyn, Cory and J.B. Trout III; and four great grandchildren, Chase and Dalis Connell and Jared and Jessica Collins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2004, 1 p.m., at Rogers Funeral Home with Bob Werntz officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday night at Rogers Funeral Home.

Everett Hisle
The Rev. Everett Allen Hisle, 66, of London, Kentucky, passed away, Thursday, March 18, 2004, following a lingering illness.
He was born, on Aug. 16, 1937, in Winchester, Kentucky, a son of the late William and Dolly Abner Hisle. The Rev. Hisle was an ordained bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, Tenn.) denomination, having pastored for 38 years in the Kentucky counties of Ohio, Bell, Perry, Pike, Kenton, Leslie and Harlan. Over the years, he served on various state denominational boards including: State Executive Council, youth and Christian education, evangelism and ministerial care. He was also a former district overseer, ARH hospital chaplain and radio devotional speaker.
In addition, he was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Parkway Praise Center Church of God in London, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and had recently begun a nursing home ministry following his retirement from the pastorate in 2003. He was a beloved figure among his family members, fellow ministers, and former parishioners and will be fondly remembered.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Hisle, and 12 half-brothers and -sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Florence Fowler Hisle; two sons, the Rev. Rick Hisle and his wife, Kimberly, of Pinsonfork, Kentucky, and the Rev. Mark Hisle and his wife, Jennifer, of London; two grandchildren, Emily and Ellie Hilse of London; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for the Rev. Hisle will be conducted at 6 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Cathedral Church of God, located at 3313 Lexington Road, Winchester. The Rev. J. David Stevens, administrative bishop of the Church of God in Kentucky; the Rev. Ray Sanders, Church of God missions representative and former administrative bishop in Kentucky; and the Rev. Rick Hisle, pastor of Family Covenant Church of God in Pikeville, Kentucky, will officiate. The Parkway Praise Center Church of God will provide music. Men of the Lynch Church of God will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, at the church.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 23, at 10 a.m., in the Lexington cemetery on Harrodsburg Road, Lexington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of God State Fund for Retired Ministers, 3500 Versailles Rd., Lexington, Kentucky 40510.

Joseph Seth Brown, infant son of Joe and Brandi Bentley Brown of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Paul B. Hall Medical Center. He was born Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by one aunt, Tammy Brown; one uncle, Joshua Dillon; paternal grandfather, Joe Brown Jr.; paternal great grandfather, Elijah May; maternal grandmother, Cuzzie Gooslin; and maternal great great grandmother, Jaquline Dotson.
Surviving are his parents, Joe and Brandi of Pikeville, Kentucky; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Sharon Gross of Johns Creek, Pikeville, Kentucky; paternal great grandparents, Clinton and Lydia Thompson of Pikeville, Kentucky; maternal grandparents, Peewee and Melissa Gooslin of Phelps, Kentucky; and maternal great grandparents, Billy and Sandra Bentley; brothers, Kaleb Blake and Lonnie David, both of the home; aunts, Samantha, Lisa, Tara, Regnia and Brooke; and uncles, Roger, Darren, Eric and Billy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2004, 11 a.m., at Community Funeral Home with Franklin Mounts officiating. Burial will follow at Family cemetery, Joe's Creek, Pikeville, Kentucky Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday.

Bertha Smith Duty, 74, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004. She was born in Ransom, Kentucky
Mrs. Duty was preceded in death by her husband, Alford Duty; parents, Butler and Judy Smith; grandparents, App and Amanda Smith and Daniel and Leida Smith; sisters, Columbie Varney, Cordley Hatfield, Ocie Smith, Georgie Smith Ball, Ethel Mae May, and Octavie Smith Hatfield; brothers, App Smith and Daniel B. Smith.
She was the loving mother to children, Glenna Mae (Sid) Brown, Susan Brown, Edsel Duty and Alfred (Teresa) Duty, Jr. of Tennessee; loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brother, Ballard (Martha) Smith of Kentucky; sisters, Polly Crawford of Kentucky and Melda Coleman of Virginia.
Friends may call at the Southwick-Good & Fortkamp Funeral Chapel, 3100 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio, Wednesday, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m., where service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., with Rev. John W. Fraizer, II, officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Park.
