George William Knox, 70, of South Bend, Ind., formerly of Sanders, died Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center in South Bend. He was a retired employee of Bendix Corp., South Bend, and a member of American Association of Personnel Administrators. He was a member of Titusville (Fla.) Rotary Club and South Bend American Legion Post. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Jobe Knox; daughters, Karen Sue Harmon of Westlake, Ohio, Pamela Kay Schrader and Tamara Dawn Sumpter, both of Elkhart, Ind., Shauna Beth Stoll of South Bend and Tanya Leigh Zuber of Mishawaka, Ind.; and sisters, Geraldine Knox of Carrollton and Juanita Parker of Louisville.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.

Erma Jane Lyons, 77, of Covington, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Bernard Lyons, died in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Gar ry Lyons of Covington; daughters, Dora Melhorn of Taylor Mill and Sue Brock of Ft. Thomas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill, is handling arrangements.

Eloise Wilson Carran Minor, 88, of Covington, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Nursing Home in Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Ft. Mitchell Baptist Church. Her husbands, Samuel Carran and Dr. William Minor, died in 1965 and 1977, respectively.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. Carran of Covington; a sister, Louise Hart of Houston; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Mildred Z. Silbersack, 82, of Crescent Springs, died at 3:22 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur F. Silbersack of Baltimore; daughters, Sandra Bowman and Donna Tucker, both of Florence; a brother, Carl T. Henderson of Crestview Hills; a sister, Glenna Gillespie of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Clarence Thomas Snow, 81, of Burlington, died Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a self-employed carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of Twin City No. 19 DAV and Sanders Coon Hunters Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Snow; sons, Donnie M. Snow, Harry Franklin Snow, Lee Roy Snow and Clarence T. Snow Jr., all of Burlington, and Calvin Ray Snow of Bennington, Ind.; daughters, Wilma Illian Cobb and Ella Marie Hillenbrand, both of Burlington; a sister, Wilma Kerns of Bright, Ind.; a brother, George B. Snow of Spokane, Wash.; a half-sister, Shirley Mae Clifton of Carrollton; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in East Bend Methodist Cemetery.

Cold Spring's Robert D. Stephens, GE engineer, devoted family man
Robert D. Stephens, a retired engineer with General Electric in Cincinnati, was a quiet, humble man who took care of his family.
"He kind of stayed in the background all the time but he was always there," said his daughter, Lola Knauer of Cleveland. "He could be counted upon by family, friends and neighbors, too, to just be there. He didn't win the Boston Marathon or anything, but he was just faithful in doing his duty as husband, father and provider."
Mr. Stephens, 78, of Cold Spring, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, Alexandria, VFW Post No. 3205, Alexandria, Alexandria Lodge No. 152 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Covington, and Syrian Temple, Cincinnati. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Stephens enjoyed reading and gardening and traveling.
Other survivors include his wife of 55 years, Allie L. Stephens; a sister, Lola Baber of Covington; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Radel Funeral Home, Highland Heights. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Franklin L. Barnhill, 71, of Melbourne, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a retired member of Teamsters Local No. 100, Cincinnati, and a member of Second Twelve Mile Baptist Church, Pendleton County. He was a member of Campbell Coun ty VFW Post No. 3205, Alexandria, and Hucks Social Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Barnhill; a son, Dale Barnhill of Melbourne; a daughter, Kim Fisher of Orlando, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Emma Agnes Abner Bohanon, 88, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Covington, died at 6 a.m. Sunday at East Manor Medical Care Center in Sarasota. She was a retired cleaning supervisor with Continental Cleaning Co. at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Survivors include sons, Joseph Bohanon Jr. of Sarasota and Donald Ray Reed of Covington; daughters, Alma Wenstrup of Bellevue, Joyce Rice of Covington and Barbara Carpenter of Elwood, Ind.; a stepson, Daniel Kessen of Covington; 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Buford Mae Case, 80, of Independence, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday at Florence Park Care Center in Florence. She was a retired housekeeper with Holiday Inn.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Case of Independence; daughters, Mary Troy and Mina Case, both of Independence; a brother, Jessie James Rodgers of Jamestown, Ohio; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Cyril J. Gardner, 93, of Ft. Thomas, died at 9 p.m. Monday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas. He was a retired tailor with Globe Tailoring Co., Cincinnati. His wife, Dorothy Spangler Gardner, died in 1993. A son, Robert Gardner, died in 1935.

Ellora E. Hinton, 107, of Flemingsburg, died Monday at Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg. She was a former postmistress and member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Fleming County. She was a member of Fleming County Garden Club. Her husband, Frank L. Hinton, died in 1973.
Survivors include sons, Eugene F. Hinton of Florence and Frank O. Hinton of Flemingsburg; daughters, Eulene Hensley of Ft. Mitchell, Ruby Spradling of Covington and Golda Miller of Lexington; a foster daughter, Lois Alderson of Orange, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, Flemingsburg. Visitation will begin there at noon Friday. Burial will be in Flemingsburg County Cemetery.

Marvin H. Iames, 68, of Erlanger, died at 6:55 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, Duane Iames of Erlanger; daughters, Helene Musard and Tammy Breeden, both of Covington; his mother, Anna Mae Metcamp of Cincinnati; a stepbrother, Rick Smallwood of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.
