William French Blackburn, 79, of Forest Hills, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 7, 2005, at the Skilled Nursing Facility of the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be from 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Kentucky Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the funeral home.
Delbert Puckett
Delbert Puckett, 76, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, formerly of Stone, Kentucky, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at the Veteran's Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky
Born November 19, 1928 at Belfry, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Joseph and Fay Butterworth Puckett.
He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Fannie Teresa Puckett.
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by special friends who took care of him, Mike and Brenda Wattenberger of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19, at 1 p.m. at Davis Memorial Gardens, Stone, Kentucky, with the Rev. Buddy Kendrick officiating.
Burial will be at Davis Memorial Gardens at Stone, Kentucky
There will be no visitation.

Clyde Hurley
Clyde Darrell "Peg" Hurley, 54, of Stopover, Kentucky, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born March 25, 1950 at Stopover, Kentucky, he is survived by his parents, Jack and Ailline Hurley of Stopover, Kentucky
He is also survived by his wife, Sherry Sullivan Hurley, daughters Bobbie Jo (Jeff) Layne of Stopover, Helen Marie Hurley of Eubank, Kentucky and one step-daughter, Kelli Whitt of Phelps; and a step-son Dakota Whitt of Phelps; two grandchildren, D.J. and Adrian Layne both of Stopover..
He was preceded in death by sister, Helen Marie Hurley.
He was a dozer operator for Frazier Creek Mining and of the Pentecostal faith.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, March 18, 2005, at the Stopover Church of God with the Revs. Harold Layne, Larry Rife and Leroy Holly officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Kentucky
D.A.V. rites will be performed.
Pallbearers will be Virgil Blankenship, Dennis Bowman, Rodney Bryant, Terry Carter, Garrett Cline, Jimmy Baisden, William Hurley, Jr., Gary Adkins and Darwin Bailey.
Visitation will be held Thursday March 17, at 5 p.m. at the church with services at 7:30 p.m.

Elmer Goff
Elmer Goff, 64, Raccoon Creek, Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away at Pikeville Medical Center of Tuesday, March 15, 2005.
He was born June 17, 1940 in Pike County Kentucky
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carnes Edward Goff and Johnny Antherton Goff, and a sister, Dorles Mae Goff.
He is survived by his wife Susie Marie Goff also of Raccoon; sons Jimmy David Bryant and Joseph Goff of Raccoon; daughters Bethany Hess and Oma Howerton also of Raccoon; brothers Paul Blake Goff and Vernon Gene Goff of Raccoon; sisters Coleen Bevins and Brenda Gail May of Raccoon; and three grandchildren, Oma Alexis Marie Marshall, Dallas Dwayne Howerton, Jr. and Kaylie Faith Hess.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 1 p.m., at the Raccoon Primitive Baptist Church, with Ministers Vance Jones, Greg Moore, Ellis Lynn, Argle Kendrick and David Coleman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Blake-Goff cemetery at Raccoon.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6 p.m., at the Raccoon Primitive Baptist Church.
Michael E. Chafin
Michael E. Chafin, 47, of Ransom, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born Oct. 31, 1957, in Williamson, W.Va., the son of the late Charles Earnest and Edith Sullivan Chafin, II.
A disabled coal miner, he was also preceded in death by one step-grandson, Dalton Mills.
Mr. Chafin was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Prater Chafin of Ransom, Kentucky; one son, Paul Chafin of Ransom, Kentucky; four step-children, Tonya Mills, Charlotte Prater, Johnny Mills and Michael Mills; five brothers, Edward L. Chafin of North Carolina; Greg C. Chafin of Ransom, Kentucky; Carl D. Chafin of Matewan, W.Va., William A. Chafin of Ransom, Kentucky, and John Chafin of Ransom, Kentucky; one sister, Nancy F. Chafin of Ransom, Kentucky; half-sister, Yauona White of Newtown, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Hatfield Funeral Chapel in Toler, Kentucky, with Brother Johnny Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Sullivan cemetery at Ransom, Kentucky
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, at the funeral home with services at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005.

Randy Nicholas "Nick" Fields, 25, of Woodman, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005, at Stopover, Kentucky
He was born Oct. 22, 1979, at South Williamson, Kentucky, the son of Randy E. Fields and Lana (Rick) Blankenship, all of Ransom, Kentucky
Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ann Smith; and grandfather, Chester Fields.
He was an auto mechanic.
Additional survivors include his wife, Devon Hunt Fields of Woodman, Kentucky; his little angel, his three-year-old daughter, Kacie Nicole Fields; his special sister and best friend, Brandi Fields of Ransom, Kentucky; grandparents, Landon (Kaye) Smith of Ransom, Kentucky, and Frances Fields Caudill of Chattaroy, W.Va.; and one nephew, Tyler Nicholas (Ty BubNick) Fields.
He is also survived by aunts, uncles and a special friend, Mike Isom.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Samaria Primitive Baptist Church in Ransom, Kentucky, with ministers Virgil Smith, Mike Smith and Raymond Stanley officiating.
Burial will follow in Alley cemetery at Ransom, Kentucky
Pallbearers will be Michael Hunt, Mike Isom, Chad Smith, Joey Fields, Justin Jones, Randy Jones and Kayla Varney.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, and anytime Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the church. Special services will be held both nights at 7 p.m.

Dollie York
Dollie Mae Doyle York, 73, of Belfry, Kentucky, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at her residence.
Born June 14, 1931 in Pike County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Laurie Bowes Doyle.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doyle was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Beamer York; a daughter, Trisha Ann York; a sister, Nellie Chapman and a brother, Bill Doyle.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Williamson Church of God.
Survivors include: four sons, Robert (Debbie) York of Friendsville, Tenn.; Paul (Rosalie) York of Lexington, Kentucky; Chet (Robin) York of Hardy, Kentucky and Glenn Michael (Paula) York of Switzer, W.Va.; one daughter, Carol York of Belfry, Kentucky; two sisters, Jessie Thacker of Pikeville, Kentucky and Mahalia Atkins of Aflex, Kentucky; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Rogers Funeral Home chapel, Belfry, Kentucky with Earl Coleman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Coburn Point cemetery, Hardy, Kentucky
Pallbearers will be Jerry O'Brien, Robbie York, Adam York, Tommy Hatfield, Brad Smith and Brian York.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the funeral home.
