Lyda Stanley
Lyda Mae Stanley, 70, of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 16, 2004, at South Williamson ARH Hospital.
Born November 5, 1933, in Pike County, Kentucky, to late Lloyd Roscoe Hathaway and Nancy Jane Prater Hathaway, she was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joyce Carol Stanley; and one brother, Malon Layne.
Surviving are her son, Jack Scott Stanley Jr. (Dianna) of Jacksonville, N.C.; daughters, Shirley Stacy (Bud) of Phelps, Kentucky, Anna Mildred Casey of Kimper, Kentucky, Sharon Diane Ball (Bill) of Columbia, Kentucky, Shelia Lynn Hunt of Phyllis, Kentucky and Nancy Irene Farmer (Ricky) of Martin, Kentucky; brother, Dewey Ratliff of Dunlap, Tenn.; sister, Blanche Booth of Phelps, Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2004, 1 p.m., at The Lord's House at Phelps, Kentucky with Revs. Mitch Bowling and Ronnie Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Booth Family cemetery, at Phelps, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at 6 p.m., at the Lord's House with services nightly at 7 p.m.

Kenneth Malone
Kenneth Woodrow Malone, 78, of McVeigh, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital, Williamson, W. Va.
Born May 7, 1925, in McCreary County, Kentucky, to the late James Malone and Mable Wilson Malone, he had worked at the Old Mountaineer Hotel, Williamson, W. Va.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Dolores Malone; and one brother, Carl E. "Bucky" Malone; and his wife, Alene Malone.
Surviving are his daughter, Jona Lynn Simpson of Meta, Kentucky; one grandchild, Melinda K. Branham of Meta, Kentucky; special friends, Yulonda and Bruce Smith, and April Whalen and family of Hardy, Kentucky, Bruce C. Smith and family of Forest Hills, Kentucky, Jami Russell and family of Canada, Kentucky and Renee Sheppard and family of Huntington, W. Va.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2004, 11 a.m., at Rogers Funeral Home with James R. Justice officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky His friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Friday at Rogers Funeral Home.

Virgie Stepp
Virgie Mae Farley Stepp, 92, of Inez, Kentucky, a lifelong resident of Pike County and Martin County, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born April 6, 1911, in Pilgrim, Kentucky, to the late Bert Ran Farley and Betty Muncy Farley, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Stepp was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Stepp; son, Clyde Stepp; four brothers and one sister.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty (Clifford) Young of Inez, Kentucky; brother, Leon Farley of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Brenda (Terry) Roberts, Sandy Scroggins, David Joseph (Jeanne) Young, Betty Kay Hickman and Jennifer Stepp; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2004, 1 p.m., at Hatfield Funeral Chapel with Brother Ray Taylor and Brother Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Kentucky Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home with special services at 7 p.m. Sunday evening with Ed James and Tim McCoy officiating.

Velma Hinkle
Velma Williamson Hinkle, 78, of Milo, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Born February 19, 1925, in Martin County, Kentucky, to the late Nathan and Alice Williamson, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Hinkle was a member of Pack Bottom United Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Seburn Hinkle; sons, Luther Ronald Hinkle and Gary Lynn Hinkle; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her sons, Kevin Hinkle of Milo, Kentucky and Randle Hinkle of Milo, Kentucky; and a daughter, Ina Carol Hammond of Milo, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 8, 2004, 1 p.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky with Rev. Lonnie Ratliff and Darrell Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow at Hinkle cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky, Friday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Saturday after 4 p.m.

Florence Davis, 84, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Saturday, February 21, 2004, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Sarasota, Fla.
Born November 20, 1919, in Morgan County, Kentucky, to the late James C. Dawson and Sulie Hill Dawson, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Davis was a member of Nolan Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis; her daughter, Patsy Karen Davis; sisters, Lassie Taylor and Minnie Blanton; her son, Donnie Davis; and brothers, Charles, Chester, Paul, Estil and Doc Dawson.
Surviving are her sons, Johnny Ray Davis of Deltona, Fla, Jack Davis of Selmer, Tenn., Jim Davis of Beaver, Ohio, Bill Davis of Sarasota, Fla., Roger Davis of Lucasville, Ohio and Charles Davis of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Mary M. Snodgrass of Pickerington, Ohio and Rachel Bryant of Pataskala, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27, 2004, 11 a.m., at Nolan Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Maher, W. Va. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, February 26, 2004, 6 - 9 p.m. at Weaver Mortuary, West Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nolan Freewill Baptist Church, 30 Nolan Street, Williamson, WV 25661.

Joyce McCoy
Joyce Ann White McCoy, of Burnwell, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born October 6, 1942, in Chattaroy, W. Va., to the late Charles Wesley White and Mary Edrington White, she was a former medical billing clerk at ARH. Mrs. McCoy was a member of Aflex Missionary Baptist Church. Joyce was active in the Tug Valley Relay for Life and was always looking to help others in their fight against cancer. Her favorite hobby was quilting and sewing. She gave her creations to the special people in her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Allen White and Gary White.
Surviving are her husband, Donald R. McCoy of Burnwell, Kentucky; daughters, Robyn McCoy (James) Fields of Hardy, Kentucky and Melissa McCoy of Fort Mill, S. C.; beloved grandson, Christopher Scott Fields of Hardy, Kentucky; brothers, Paul (Billie) White of Belleville, Mich., Harlan (Sonja) White of Forest Hills, Kentucky, Albert "Buster" (Dawna) White of Proctorville, Ohio, Robert "Scooter" (Norma) White of Belleville, Mich. and Steve (Debbie) White of Chattaroy, W. Va.; sisters, Dana (Ed) Fletcher of Adrian, Mich. and Linda White of Williamson, W. Va.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27, 2004, 11 a.m., at Aflex Missionary Baptist Church with James Robert Justice and Mike Kohari officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
There will be no visitation at Joyce's request.

Ervin Allen Estep, 56, of Steele, Kentucky, died on Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at his Pike County residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the Bailey Funeral Home in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, with Nando Mullins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park in Big Rock, Va.
Visitation is after 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15, at the funeral home.
Mabel Kelps
Mabel Sites Kelps, 78, of Tomahawk, Kentucky, died on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at the Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Kentucky
She was born on Aug. 9, 1926, in Van Lear, Kentucky, to the late Dock and May Mollette Sites. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kelps.
Mrs. Kelps is survived by three brothers, Sammy Sites, Lloyd Sites, and Dock Sites Jr., all of Tomahawk; and five sisters, Sharlene Stucker of Irving, Texas, Rita Maynard of Inez, Kentucky, Doris Morrison and Mary Gregory, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Nancy Jane Spence of Tomahawk.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the Sulfur Springs United Baptist Church with Riley Maynard and Thomas Rainwater officiating. Burial will follow in the Sites Family cemetery in Tomahawk.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15, at the church.

Pauletta Whitt
Pauletta Louise Whitt, 25, of Paintsville, Kentucky, died in Hager Hill, Kentucky
She was born on Dec. 24, 1978, in Williamson, a daughter of Alma Louise Booth and the late Paul David Whitt.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Destiny Hope McCoy of Inez, Kentucky; and one bother, Trevor Aaron Booth of Paintsville; and one sister, Jamie Renae Booth of Whittensville, Kentucky
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, Kentucky, with the Rev. Lonnie Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in the Dials cemetery in Inez.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 16, at the funeral home.
