Faye Hunt-McCarver
Faye Hunt-McCarver, 72, of Hardy, Kentucky, who made her home the past few years in Lake Wales, Fla., passed away Monday, February 21, 2005, at Palm Garden of Winter Haven, Fla.
Born March 23, 1932, in Pike County, Kentucky, to the late Mont Kennedy and Virginia Chapman Kennedy, was a former seamstress and owner of Belle's Sewing Center. She was a member of the Toler Freewill Baptist Church for many years and a member of the Wayside Baptist Church in Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Hunt; two sisters, Eula Mae Angel and Marie Runyon; five brothers, Byrd, Archie, Monty and Cleophus Kennedy and Luther Canada; and two grandsons, Charles Matthew and Joseph Curtis Lee.
Surviving are her husband, Evan McCarver; sons, Michael (Donna) Williamson of Turkey Creek, Kentucky and Terry (Wanda) Hunt of Hardy, Kentucky; daughter, Tonya (Steve) Lee of Hardy, Kentucky; brother, Jeff (Carol) Kennedy of Hardy, Kentucky; sisters, Naydene (Ronald) Vernatter of Somerset, Kentucky and Rebecca Behymer of Croksville, Ohio; one granddaughter, Sara (Keith) Cochran of Pleasant View, Tenn.; four grandsons, Jace Williamson of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, Curtis Hunt and Corey and Cody Lee, all of Hardy, Kentucky; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Cochran.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25, 2005, 1 p.m., at Toler Freewill Baptist Church with Johnny Hatfield and B.J. Hudson of the Wayside Baptist church in Florida, officiating. Burial will follow at the Monty Bevins cemetery, Hatfield, Kentucky
Serving as pallbearers are Burgess Runyon, Bobby Joe Runyon, Ronnie Vernatter, Corey Lee, Curtis Hunt and Jace Williamson.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Thursday at Rogers Funeral Home with special services at 7 p.m. The body will lie in state two hours at the church prior to the funeral.

Bruce Varney
Bruce A. Varney, 78, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Pinsonfork, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 31, 2005, at his residence in Michigan.
Born April 2, 1926, in Pinsonfork, Kentucky, to the late Harve Varney and Pearl Ward Varney, he was retired from Dailmer-Chrysler Corp. in Michigan. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Detroit, Mich. and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Varney; two brothers, Marlin Bandy and Arnold Varney; and two sisters, Colleen Phillips and Celestine Bandy.
Surviving are his sister, Shirley Varney of Huddy, Kentucky and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005, 2 p.m., at Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky
Serving as pallbearers are Sean Bandy, Arnold Bandy, Bruce Bandy, Michael Bandy, Matthew Phillips and Dart Phillips.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Friday at Rogers Funeral Home with a special service Friday at 7 p.m.

Bertha Chapman, 91, of Raccoon Creek, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2005, at her residence. She was born April 10, 1913 in Pike County, Kentucky, to the late George Coleman and Eva Little Coleman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2005, 12 noon, at Raccoon Primitive Baptist Church with Paul Dean Justice, Dave Justice and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman cemetery, Raccoon, Kentucky Visitation was held at the church with services at 7 p.m. each night. Justice Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Luola Young
Luola Ray Young, 74, of Sidney, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Select Speciality Hospital at CAMC General Division in Charleston, W.Va.
Born March 26, 1930, in Pike County, Kentucky, to the late Joe Ray and Vada Williamson Ray, she was a retired school teacher with over 40 years service with the Pike County Board of Education. She was of the Old Regular Baptist faith, a graduate of Pikeville College and a member of the NEA and KEA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Young; two brothers, James Ray and Ray Muncy; and one sister, Maudie Thompson.
Surviving are her son, Gary (Vickie) Young of Sidney, Kentucky; daughter, Katie Williams of Sidney, Kentucky; brothers, J.D. Muncy of Ohio, Claude Muncy of Varney, Kentucky, Freddie Muncy of Varney, Kentucky and Eddie Muncy of Spring Hill, Tenn.; sisters, Joann Williamson of Varney, Kentucky, Mary Stevens of Sidney, Kentucky, Mildred Woodson of Berea, Kentucky and Ruth Stepp of Kopperston, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Brent Billiter of Richmond, Kentucky, Jason Clark of Kodak, Tenn., Aaron Clark of Sidney, Kentucky, Christopher Young of Cold Spring, Kentucky and Lisa Young of Huntington, W.Va.; and one great-grandchild, James Dalton Billiter of Richmond, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2005, 11 a.m., at Hatfield Funeral Chapel with Elder Richard Staton, Elder Lacy Walters and other elders of the Regular Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Kentucky Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Born March 16, 1953, in Pike County, Kentucky, to the late Mont Honaker and Ruby Mae "Varney" Honaker, he was a member of Meathouse Freewill Baptist Church, Kimper, Kentucky
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Hunt.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Honaker of Raccoon, Kentucky; son, James Alex Honaker of Raccoon, Kentucky; daughter, Rebecca Janell Honaker of Raccoon, Kentucky; brothers, Arley Honaker of Kimper, Kentucky, Jimmy Honaker of Kimper, Kentucky, Johnny Honaker of Kimper, Kentucky and Jack Honaker of Kimper, Kentucky; sisters, Florene Robinette of Varney, Kentucky and Dorene Hess of Kimper, Kentucky; and granddaughter, Raven Nicole Honaker of Raccoon, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2005, 1 p.m., at Meathouse Freewill Baptist Church, Kimper, Kentucky with T.I. Runyon and Blake Layne officiating.
Burial will follow at the Honaker Family cemetery, Kimper, Kentucky
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2005, and all day Thursday, at Community Funeral Home with nightly services at 7 p.m..
Visitation will continue at the church Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Charlie Edmiston
Charlie Edmiston, 78, of Canada, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005, at C.A.M.C. General Division, Charleston, W.Va.
Born September 17, 1926, in McAndrews, Kentucky to the late Wayne Edmiston and Annie Marcum Edmiston, he was a retired coal miner. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America and attended Canada Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Edmiston, six brothers, two sisters, and granddaughter Angela Nunley.
Surviving are his son, Tod Nunley, Ypsilanti, Mich.; daughter, Louella Dean Elkins of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; three brothers, Alex Edmiston of Hatfield, Kentucky, Dewey Edmiston of Carlsbad, N.M. and Ronnie Edmiston of Sidney, Kentucky; one sister, Bobbie Jean Rowe of Belfry, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2005, 11 a.m., at Rogers Funeral Home with Jack Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky
Serving as pallbearers are Deron Elkins, Denvy Elkins, Michael Church, Kenny Stroud, Joey Church, Brian Nickell and Carl Smith.
