Alex Cline
Alex Randal Cline, 46, of Kimper, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at his home.
Born April 15, 1958, in Williamson, W.Va., to the late Jack Cline and Carol Jean Cline, he was a coal miner, having worked for McCoy Elkhorn Coal Company. He was f the Church of God faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Fannie Dotson.
Surviving are her sons, Jack Randal Cline of Paintsville, Kentucky and Alex Brent Cline of Tennessee; daughter, Vicky Nicole Mollette of Paintsville; sister, Tammy Cox; maternal grandfather, Clyde Dotson; and four grandchildren, Andrea Nicole Mollette, Alexandra Paige Mollette, Kendra Lynn Mollette and Lauren LaShea Cline.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005, from 6 - 9 p.m. at Phelps Funeral Services' Chapel with Rev. Peppy Francis officiating. The ashes will be scattered on Sunday, February 20, 2005, at the Dotson cemetery in Phelps, Kentucky

Gibbon 'Sonny' Gooslin
Gibbon Eugene "Sonny" Gooslin, 57, of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky
Born January 1, 1948, at Thacker #2 Hollow in Mingo County, W.Va., to the late Ben Gooslin and Pheobe Blankenship Gooslin, he was a retired coal miner having worked 25 years for the Chisholm Coal Company at Phelps, Kentucky
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Truly Laliberte.
Surviving are his sons, Bennie E. "Chip" Gooslin of Phelps, Kentucky and Harry Chuck Maynard (Karen) of Valdese, N.C.; sisters, Bennarra (Harold Buddy) Rice of Romulus, Mi., Roxie Daniels of Blackberry City, W.Va. and Julia Hurley of Amelia, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Amanda G. Maynard of Pikeville, Kentucky and John Curtis Maynard of Valdese, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2005, 1 p.m., at Phelps Funeral Services' Chapel with Revs. William Cornn and Willie Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Layne cemetery at Jamboree, Kentucky
Phelps Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Tony Wilson, Carter Hurley, Johnny Stacy, Everett Irick, Sid Allen, Edgar Denton Hamilton, Larry Daniels, Vernon Collins, Johnny Stump and Eugene "Groundhog" Pruitt.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at 6 p.m., in the chapel, with services nightly at 7 p.m.

Troy Roberts, 56, of Feds Creek, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2005, 11 a.m., at Bailey Funeral Home with Frank Crum officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton cemetery, Fedscreek, Kentucky where military rites will be performed by Chapter 140, Elkhorn City.
Visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Willie Pinson
Willie F. Pinson, 80, of Lincoln Park, Mich., originally from Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 21, 2005.
He was the beloved husband of the late Juanita, formerly from Williamson, W.Va.
He was the dearest father of Lloyd (Gloria), Terry, Alice (Greg) Felty, Roxann (Patrick) Davidson, Randy (Debbie) and the late Rosemary Holcomb; dear grandfather of 19 and great grandfather of 15; the loving brother of James L. Pinson of Ecorse, Mich. and Lodeen Adkins of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rell and Ersie Keesee Pinson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 1943-1946, where he earned the American Theater Ribbon; EAME Theater Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal WWII. He was a longtime member of the 7th Street Freewill Baptist Church in Ecorse, Mich.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Taylor Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S. Telegraph Road. Interment was at Oak Ridge cemetery, Flat Rock.

Jerry Keith Holbrooks, 41, of Grayson, Kentucky, formerly of Rockhouse, Kentucky, died Thursday, February 3, 2005 at his residence.

Burial will follow at the Holbrooks-Hylton cemetery, at Rockhouse, Kentucky

Carrie Robinson
Carrie Robinson, 78, of Inez, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Born August 15, 1926, in Delbarton, W.Va., to the late Charlie and Nettie Marcum, she was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Robinson; brother, Earnest Marcum; and sisters, Shirley Brown and Addie Bailey.
Surviving are her nephews, Charles Brown and Randy Brown, both of Louisa, Kentucky, Rodney Brown and David Brown, both of Warfield, Kentucky and Andrew Brown of Alabama; brothers, Wayne Marcum of Lake, W.Va. and Harrison Marcum of Texas; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 27, 2005, 1 p.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Messer, Jr. and Ray Staton officiating. Burial will follow at Brown cemetery, Big Elk Creek.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday night from 6 - 9 p.m.

R. Keith Jones, 39, of Maple Ridge Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2005, at his residence.
Born April 2, 1965, in Cook County, Ill., to Harry C. Jones of Winchester, Kentucky and Roberta Reynolds Jones of Winchester, he was a computer technician for E.D.S. in Winchester.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gregory and Timothy Jones.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his wife, Kimberly Bean Jones of Mt. Sterling; five sons, Joshua Gregory Jones, Tyler Keith Jones and Benjamin Curtis Jones, all of Pikeville, Kentucky Robert Louis Brack Jones and Timothy Graham Jones, both of Mt. Sterling; two stepchildren, Karrah Tiffany Smith and Kody Aaron Lee Smith, both of Mt. Sterling; and one brother, Jeffery Neil of Mt. Sterling.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2005, 10 a.m., at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Inc., with Rev. Fred Wiles and Roger Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at Bent Ridge cemetery in Pike County, Kentucky

Maggie Sue Wolford, 52, of Bones Branch of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2005, at South Williamson Appalachian Regional Healthcare.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2005, 1 p.m., at Phelps Free Pentecostal Church with Revs. William Cornn, Gary Starr and Charles Lanning officiating. Burial will follow at Family cemetery at Bones Branch of Phelps, Kentucky

Anthony Dare
Anthony John Dare, age 45, of London, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born April 10, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, he was the beloved son of Wilbert Leland Dare and Jean Groover Dare. He was the beloved husband of Susan Yates Dare of London. He is survived by three children, Sarah Kathleen Dare, James Will Dare and Thomas Fredrick Dare; also, sisters Ellen Dare Haga of Jacksonville, Fla., Amy Kathleen Hassell of Murrysville, Penn., and Beth Bernadette of Chestertown, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony was a 1982 graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. with a BS degree in mining engineering. He was a professional engineer and a member of the society of mining, metallurgy and exploration and the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
He worked for various mining companies in the Southern Appalachian Coal Belt. Currently he was Vice-President and General Manager for Bell County Coal Company, a division of the James River Coal Company.
Visitation will be Friday, February 4th at 6 p.m. at the London Funeral Home at 879 South Main Street, London, Kentucky The Funeral Mass will be conducted Saturday, February 5th at 11 a.m. at St. Williams Catholic Church at 521 West 5th Street, London, Kentucky, by Father Terrance Happenjans and Father Charles Howell. The burial will be at Calvery cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky
Pallbearers include Charles Snavely, Joseph Moorman, Bob Hollies, Jimmy Charles, C.K. Lane, and Joe Evans. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Coolen, Jeff Shafer, David Yates and Mark Yates.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the St. Camillus Academy in Corbin, Kentucky

Juanita Jude
Juanita M. Jude, 60, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at her residence.
She was born August 4, 1944, in Aflex, Kentucky, to Nathan Jude of Defiance, Ohio, and the late Fannie D. Mollett Jude.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2005, 1 p.m., at Defiance Christian Church with Rev. Steve Liming and Rev. Jerry Mauldin officiating. Burial will follow at Ayersville cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

George Wolfe
George Clayton Wolfe, 72, of McAndrews, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at Skilled Nursing Facility, Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born January 29, 1933, in McAndrews, Kentucky, to the late John W. Wolfe and Golda S. Wolfe, he was a retired coal miner who worked for Eastern Coal Corp. and was a member of UMWA. He was a member of Samaria Primitive Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Wolfe, Johnny Wolfe and Leon Wolfe; and sister, Margaret Murphy.
Surviving are his wife, Rosa W. Wolfe; son, Michael Wolfe; daughter, Beth Ann Wolfe of Lexington, Kentucky; and sister, Mildred Benuzzi of Yukon, Okl.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005, 11 a.m., at Rogers Funeral Home with Mike Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Huddy, Kentucky D.A.V. Rites will be performed by Belfry Chapter #141 D.A.V.
Serving as pallbearers are Neil May, Bruce May, Buddy May, Danny Gannon, Jim Hunt and Jimmy Stanley.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday nights at the funeral home with special services at 7 p.m. Friday night.

Stanislaw Jarusik
Stanislaw "Stanley" Jarusik, 90, of Frenchburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2005, at his residence.
Born September 27, 1914, in Honesdale, Pa., to the late Andrew Jarusik and Valerie Venzil Jarusik, he was retired from the Civilian Conservation Center with the Department of Forestry. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester, Kentucky
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and one sister.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Rutherford Jarusik of Frenchburg, Kentucky; son, Stanislaw Jarusik Jr.; daughter, Valerie McGinnis; step-children, Terry Vance Thacker of Columbia, Tenn., Garry Neal Thacker of Lewisburg, Tenn., and Brian Clay Thacker of Radcliff, Kentucky; and sister, Annetta of Toms River, N.J. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005, 1 p.m., at Old Pond Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mike Elswick, Elder Randall Thornsberry, Elder Mike Smith and others officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford cemetery at Huddy, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Friday evening at the church with services at 7 p.m.
