Deloris Robinson
Graveside services for Deloris Robinson, 83, of Providence, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Star Hope Cemetery in Liberty. The Rev. Alan McCutchen officiated the services.
Mrs. Robinson died Sunday night, Dec. 1, 2002, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter Trecie Tudor of Sebree; a son, Lexie Robinson of Clay; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
William Denver Turley
Services for William Denver Robertson, 83, of Marion, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay. The Rev. Robert Nall officiated, with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery in Shady Grove, KY.
Mr. Robertson died at 6:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Crittenden Health Systems in Marion.
He was retired from Whirlpool and had attended Vann Avenue Baptist Church in Evansville, IN. He was also a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Inez Robertson; two sisters, Bobbie McHone of Cross, SC, and Irene Clark of Blackford; and a brother, Robert Robertson of Sturgis.
Sarah Jewell Wallace Darnell
Services for Sarah Jewell Wallace Darnell, 77, of Ilsley, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs. The Revs. Richard Sisk and Bobby Alvey officiated, with burial in Ilsley Cemetery.
Mrs. Darnell died at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a textile worker for a few years, working at Ottenheimer and Enro Manufacturing companies. She was a member of Empire Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Glenn Darnell; two daughters, LaDonna Embry of Clarksville, TN, and Hollie Howton of Ilsley; five sons, the Rev. Dwight Darnell of Madisonville, David Darnell of Ilsley, Dale Darnell of Clay, Barry Barnell of Princeton, and O'Neal Burgess of Dexter, KY; a sister, Mabel Davenport of Trenton, KY; a brother, Grady Wallace of Stewart County; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Thomas Cleveland Stone
Services for Thomas Cleveland (T.C.) Stone, 75, of Madisonville, were conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Lon Lorton officiated, with private burial services in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.
Mr. Stone died at 12:16 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
He retired in 1987 as Chief of Engineering Services at Mine Safety and Health Administration. He was a member and elder of Madisonville First Presbyterian Church and was a member of Madisonville Masonic Lodge No. 143, York Rite and the Rizpah Shrine Temple. He was in the U.S. Army and was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Elizabeth Schlotman Stone; four daughters, Holly Blair of Massachusetts, Nancy Franklin and Dicie Collins, both of Madisonville, and Tracy Atkinson of Lexington; two sons, Fred H. Edwards of Jacksonville, FL, and Joel Lansden of Madisonville; a sister, Rebecca Coffman of Oxnard, CA; and eight grandchildren.

Earl Edward Stone Sr.
Services for Earl Edward Stone Sr., 64, of Providence, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Josh Hearrin officiated, with burial in Big Hill Cemetery in Providence.
Mr. Stone died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at his residence.
He was the retired Providence U.S. Postal Service postmaster, a U.S. Army veteran and member of V.F.W. He was also a little league coach.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Stone; a daughter, Debbie Watson of Providence; three sons, Eddie Stone and Jimmy Stone, both of Dixon, and Matt Stone of Princeton; a sister, Pat Williams of Providence; two brothers, Bobby Stone and Pete Stone, both of Providence; and 11 grandchildren.

Herschel E. Adams
Services for Herschel E. Adams, 80, of Hanson, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville. The Rev. Tom Branson officiated, with burial in West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson.
Mr. Adams died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
He was the owner of Adams Construction Co., Adams Farms and a retired land developer. He was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte L. Adams of Hanson; two daughters, Suzie McCrady and Janet Vaughn, both of Hanson; two sons, Herschel Eugene Adams Jr. of Ashbyburg, and Thomas Adams of Hanson; three sisters, Hettie Crossman of Eustis, FL, Nell Thomas of Louisville, and Mary Outlaw of Cadiz; a brother, Van Adams of Cadiz; several half brothers and half sisters; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bruce died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Pensacola, FL.
A native of Clay, she was retired from small business ownership and was a member of Gadsden Street Methodist Church and church choir.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Bruce of Gulf Breeze, FL; a sister, Lelia Watson of Evansville, IN; a brother, Frankie Winstead of Detroit, MI; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Klein died at 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO.
He was a member of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was also a retired mechanical engineer with Monsanto Chemical Company. He was a Gideon.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Aloha Lee Tapp Klein; two sons, Paul William Klein of Houston, TX, and David Ronald Klein of Wildwood, MO; a brother, Darrell Klein of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Lebanon General Baptist Church, member of Baptist Missionary Society and the Hubbard Homemakers of Webster County.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Riggs and Julie Wagoner, both of Sebree; a son, Joe Kenneth Gibson of Princeton; two sisters, Jean King of Henderson and Vivian Clark of Poole; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gray died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2002, at her son's home in Belton, KY.
She was a member of Blackford Baptist Church in Blackford.

Billy Grant Pride

A Webster County native, he was a retired police officer and member of First Baptist Church in Providence.

Flossie Williams Jones

She wrote a column for the Union County Advocate for several years. She led a Diabetes. support at Trover Clinic.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, James E. Coffman; a daughter, Melynda Jose of Morganfield; two sons, Rusty Coffman and Bruce Coffman, both of Morganfield; a sister, Mildred Branson of Dixon; and five grandchildren.
Brandi Rich Rushing

Mrs. Rushing died at 10:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at I.U. Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN, of complications from brain surgery.
She was assistant manager of Family Dollor Store and had worked at Rayloc in Morgnafield. She was a 1977 graduate of Union County High School.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Rushing; a daughter, Natalie Rushing of Sturgis; her mother, Angie Jackson of Morganfield, and her father Keith Rich of Clay; her grandparents, Gene and Doris Rich of Providence; and two step-sisters, Kellie Cole and Stephanie Cole, both of Clay.

Mr. VanHooser died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at the home of his daughter.
He was a factory supervisor and member of First Baptist Church in Princeton and Princeton Elks Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter, Valerie McDoanld of Lyon County; three brothers, Carroll HanHooser of Norwich, VT, David VanHooser of Huntsville, AL, and Joe VanHooser of Princeton, KY; and a sister, Mary Ruth Chandler of Culver, IN.
Col. Charles L. Franklin Jr., (ret)
Services for Col. Charles L. Franklin, Jr., 79, US Army (Ret.) MSC, of San Antonio, TX, were conducted at noon, Monday, Jan. 20, at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial followed in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
Col. Franklin died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in San Antonio, TX.
A native of Providence, he had served a very distinguished military career, where he received many citations, commendations, and awards which included the Legion of Merit w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal w/ three Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal w/OLC, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) World War II Victory Medal and many more. He also taught medical service training at West Point Academy and served as a hospital administrator during his military career.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Nancy Franklin; a daughter, Meredith Franklin; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Marilyn Franklin; a sister, Mary Beth Slattery; and two grandchildren.
Madeline Leslie Griffey

A native of Webster County, she was a housewife and member of General Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society of General Baptist Church of Madisonville.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Ronald Hart of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Candice Griffey of Daytona Beach, FL; a brother, Stanley Leslie of Hanson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece and four nephews.
