Benjiman F. Williams
LOUISVILLE — Benjiman F. Williams, 83, of Louisville died Oct. 13, 2000, at a Louisville nursing home.
The Allen County native was a World War II Army veteran, a retired employee of L & N Railroad and a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 940 F & AM, Scottish Rite, and Kosair Shrine Temple.
He received a bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University, a master’s degree from Western Kentucky University and a doctorate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home in Louisville with entombment in Resthaven Memorial park.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the Funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Wathen Williams; a daughter, Beverly Pullen of Indianapolis; three sisters, Ozelle Williams, Bernadine Morehead and Nancy Howell; a brother, Ray Williams; and four grandchildren.
The Rev. James Blevins
SCOTTSVILLE — The Rev. James Roy Blevins, 58, of Scottsville died at 8 a.m. Oct. 3, 2000, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Johnson County native was a Vietnam Army veteran.
He was a son of the late Shade Blevins and Sarah McCloud Blevins.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh Full Gospel Church, where he was a member.
The body will be cremated. Visitation is in progress at the church. Goad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, James R. Blevins of Scottsville; three brothers, Isaac Mullette of Boones Camp, Ernest Blevins of Michigan and Albert Ray McCloud of Pikeville; and a sister, Lavetta Price of Wabash, Ind.
A. Frank Braswell
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Alanzo Frank Braswell, 69, of Eau Claire, died Sept. 29, 2000, at his home.
The Warren County, Kentucky, native was a member of Church of the Nazarene and a son of the late Emerson Braswell and Anna Cohron Hays Braswell and the longtime companion of Pamela S. Boos, who survives.
Graveside service was Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Other survivors include his wife, Dorothy Irene Brown; four children, Catherine Seufferlein of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Debbie Mitchell of Sturgis, Kentucky, Sharon Bailey of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Ron Braswell of Eau Claire; and seven grandchildren.
Betty Kate Jones
Betty Kate Jones, 75, of Bowling Green died at 3:28 p.m. Oct. 3, 2000, at The Medical Center.
The Logan County native was a personnel manager at F.W. Woolworth and a member of White Stone Quarry Church and Gideons International Auxiliary.
She was a daughter of the late Herschel Duncan and Georgia McCormack Duncan.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to White Stone Quarry Baptist Church Building Fund.
Survivors include her husband, E. Frederic Jones; a son, Eddie Dillard of Bowling Green; a stepson, Craig Jones of Franklin; a stepdaughter, Sandra Mosley of Bowling Green; a sister, Martyne Peay of Bowling Green; a grandchild; five stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Sarah E. Jordan
Sarah Evelyn Jordan, 87, of Bowling Green died at 2:40 p.m. Oct. 2, 2000, at Greenview Regional Hospital.
The Warren County native was a homemaker and a Mormon.
She was a daughter of the late John P. Hightower and Mary Horton Hightower and wife of the late Yourie Jordan.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral home.
Survivors include five daughters, Lois Turner, Joyce Graham and Margarite Wilson, all of Bowling Green, Margie Pierson of Texas and Camilla Stamper of Morgantown; three sons, Billie Jordan of Bowling Green, Louis M. Jordan of Alabama and Lawrence Jordan of Texas; two sisters, Geneva Skillern of Bowling Green and Margie Chobra of Mooresville, Ind.; a brother, James Wallace Hightower of Bowling Green; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Paula D. Lamon
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Paula D. Lamon, 74, of Memphis, formerly of Bowling Green, Kentucky, died Sept. 29, 2000, at her home.
She was a daughter of the late Dr. A.D. Donnelly and Hermance G. Donnelly and the wife of the late J.F. “Rock” Lamon.
Funeral was Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she was a member, with burial in Forest Hill East Cemetery.
Forest Hill East Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dumont Stringer
FRANKLIN — Dumont Stringer, 84, of Franklin died at 7:40 p.m. Oct. 3, 2000, at The Medical Center.
The Simpson County native was a retired manager for Houchens, a deacon and a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Franklin Lions Club and chamber of commerce and a World War II Navy veteran.
He was a son of the late Cecil Stringer and Mattie Uhls Stringer.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Crafton Funeral Home with burial in Old Union Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral home.

Virgil F. Haley
AUBURN — Virgil Franklin Haley, 76, of Auburn died at 7:05 p.m. Oct. 8, 2000, at Logan Memorial Hospital.
The Logan County native was a retired farmer and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late Virgil Marion Haley and Sarah Mamie Cox Haley.
Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Young Funeral Home with burial in Felts Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday and at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Mae Hunton Haley; two daughters, Shirley Mae Bond of Auburn and JoNell McDaniel of Paducah; three sons, Kenneth Franklin Haley and Dale Haley, both of Auburn, and Virgil Junior Haley of Bowling Green; six sisters, Mardell Pike of Indiana, Mazelle Collins of Bowling Green and Lafelle Claypool, Dorothy Brown, Jean Coles and Earlene Johnson, all of Auburn; a brother, James Lewis Haley of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
Ray Houchens
GLASGOW — Ray Houchens, 82, of Park City died Oct. 7, 2000, at his home.
He was a farmer, a Baptist, a World War II veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Hayes Masonic Lodge.
He was a son of the late Marshall Houchens and Mattie Glass Houchens.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial and full military honors at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the Funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Basil Houchens; a daughter, Martha Houchens of Park City; nine nieces; and three nephews.
Ada B. Wolfe
Ada B. Wolfe, 89, of Bowling Green died Oct. 3, 2000, at a Bowling Green nursing home.
The Warren County native was a member of Old Liberty General Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Babe Chaffin and Lillie White Chaffin and wife of the late Thomas L. Wolfe.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bailey-Turner-Winkenhofer Funeral Home with burial in Greenbrier Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Otis Wolfe of Bowling Green; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Nathan D. Hulse
RUSSELLVILLE — Nathan D. Hulse, 29, of Auburn died Oct. 7, 2000, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Logan County native was a Baptist. He was a son of Ronald Hulse and Peggy Hulse of Auburn, who survive.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sanders Funeral Home with burial in Berea Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at the Funeral home.
Other survivors include a son, Devon Scott Hulse of Auburn; a brother, Russell Thomas Hulse of Warren County; paternal grandmother, Maude Hulse of Auburn; maternal grandmother, Martha McGinnis of Russellville; and a nephew.
