Frederick E. Wayson, 60, of Newport, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday at his home. He was a retired painter with General Motors in Norwood and Dayton, Ohio. A daughter, Connie Wayson, and son, Larry Palmer, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Plummer Wayson; sons, Fred Wayson and Mike Wayson, both of Newport, and David Palmer of Taylor Mill; daughters, Sherry Frangakis and Jayne Pruiett, both of Newport, and Karen Mitchell of Cynthiana; brothers, Manford Wayson of Newport and Vernon Wayson of Southgate; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Peter John Noll follows wife in death by two days
Peter John Noll and his wife, Dorothy, celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. They were always together in life, said their son, Richard, of Edgewood.
This week they died two days apart.
Mrs. Noll, 72, died Tuesday at the couple's home in Highland Heights, where she was recovering from a broken hip. Mr. Noll, 76, had been hospitalized for kidney problems the week before and was not aware of his wife's death. He died at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood as her Funeral Mass was ending.
"They loved each other so much. I believe this was almost like a story book for my dad," said Richard Noll. "It's going to be something for us to deal with, but he's with my mom still, like he was for 50 years."
Mr. Noll was a graduate of Xavier University and of Newport Central Catholic High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Noll and Dorothy Beiting married in 1950 and raised three daughters and three sons.
Mr. Noll helped found the Newport Catholic Boosters Club, and he and Mrs. Noll were their children's greatest supporters.
"My mom and dad never missed one of our sporting events," said Richard Noll.
Their sons played baseball, football and basketball. Their daughters played volleyball and basketball.
"With six kids, it can be a challenge to make it to all the events, but they were always out there in the stands. They were very dedicated to us," Noll said.
Mr. Noll was a sales executive for the Morton Salt Co.
"He could talk to anybody. He was very outgoing," his son said. "He cared dearly for his family. Loyalty and discipline and thinking of the family first are things I learned from him."
Mr. Noll forged friendships throughout his life. In recent years he had heart problems and joined the St. Luke Hospital Cardiac Rehab Group, which he and fellow members turned into a social circle, meeting for lunch and helping each other through crises.
The Nolls had lived in Bellevue shortly after they married and moved to Highland Heights in the 1970s. Mr. Noll retired in 1986.
Other survivors include daughters, Patricia Noll of Highland Heights, Kathleen Noll of Amelia, Ohio, and Linda Lucas of Wilder; sons, Pete Noll of Cold Spring and Kenneth Noll of Edgewood; sisters Rhoda Frankerl of Fort Thomas, Ruth Noll of Southgate; a brother, Robert Noll of Fort Mitchell, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, following prayers at 9:15 a.m. at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Aleada Wolfe Beighle, 72, of Williamstown, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County. She was a member of the Turner Ridge Baptist Church, Pendleton County. She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Allen, in 1947, and an infant daughter, Carol Rae, in 1948.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Beighle; sons, Dale E. Beighle of South Africa and Chuck Beighle of Frankfort; daughter, Claudia G. Danny R. Black, 50, of Elsmere, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Covington. He was a laborer at Lasko Composites and played professional softball for the Cincinnati Suds.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni Hall of Burlington; sons, Danny Black of Union, Jimmy Black of Bellevue, Neb., and Brandon Black of Hebron; a sister, Janet Franks of Covington; a companion, Rita Niceley of Elsmere; and 11 grandchildren.

Robert Crawford Cornell, 82, formerly of Edgewood, died Wednesday at his home in Placerville, Calif. He was a member of the U.S. Army Jazz Band and the Serra Big Brothers in Northern Kentucky. Lucy Hagin Howard Crisler, 93, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Thursday at her residence. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charlton Alexander Howard in 1947 and Richard Carlton Crisler in 1995; and son, C. Alexander Howard in January. Eleanor L. Goecke, 73, of Augusta, died Friday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville. She was a retired clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Augusta. She was a member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church and a member of the Augusta VFW Ladies' Auxiliary No. 9535.

Carl Green, 51, of Covington, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday at his residence. He was a maintenance man for St. Aloysius Apartments in Covington before becoming disabled.

Mildred Griffin Hammersmith, 68, died Friday at the Newport Baptist Convalescent Home. She was the former owner of Millie's Sewing in Walton and co-owner of Economy Cleaners in Florence. She was a member of Paint Lick Baptist Church, the Gallatin County Historical Society and the Board of Directors of the Northern Kentucky Community Action Committee, a volunteer for St. Elizabeth Hospice Center.

Herschel "Slim" Litton, 90, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Thursday at the Mariners Health Care Center in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was a retired depot master for the Southern Railway, a member of the First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda and a deacon at both the Crescent Springs Baptist Church in Crescent Springs and the First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda. Frances T. Meyering, 82, of Fort Mitchell, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a legal secretary for Strauss and Troy of Cincinnati. Olivia J. "Betty R." Temple, 91, of Colerain Township, Ohio, and formerly of Covington, died Friday at her residence. She was retired owner of a dairy bar and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Northern Kentucky First Ward, Fort Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Temple in 1961. Survivors include a son, John C. Temple of Cincinnati; daughters, Ruby Vance of Cincinnati and Elizabeth M. Reverend Chester W. Trent, 91, of Barbourville and formerly of Newport and Covington, died Thursday at Knox County Hospital in Barbourville. He was a member of Manchester Pentecostal Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Runion Trent; a daughter, Druscilla Trent of Barbourville; two grandchildren.

Marie M. Whittenburg, 76, of Hebron, died Friday at her residence. She was a homemaker, a school bus driver for Boone County and a member of the Hebron Homemakers. Jack Lee Williamson, 77, of Cold Spring, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was retired from the Coca-Cola Co., for which he worked for 35 years. He was also on the Cold Spring Police Department for 34 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Caden Blincoe, veteran journalist
Caden Blincoe, a veteran Northern Kentucky journalist and tireless advocate for literacy and fine writing, died Friday at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was 66.
Mr. Blincoe was a reporter at the Enquirer. After retiring, he became a freelance writer for The Kentucky Post and other regional papers and was a vital force in the Greater Cincinnati literary community.
"This man loved books and loved reading, and he wanted everyone to be able to read on the same level," said Ray Hebert, Thomas More College dean, who worked with Mr. Blincoe on Blincoe's Outloud reading festival.
Mr. Blincoe was a member of the Northern Kentucky Adult Reading Council, the Cincinnati Writers' Project and the Big Bone Lick Reading Society. He was on the advisory council of the Dinsmore Homestead and was active with the Cincinnati Appalachian Council.
In 1991, Mr. Blincoe persuaded the Adult Reading Council to sponsor a reading festival at which authors and poets read their own works. It was named the Outloud Festival and has become an annu al event at Thomas More College.
The festivals celebrated the pure pleasure and genuine fun of reading and writing. Participants included the royalty of Kentucky writers, such as poets laureate James Still and Joy Bale Boone and authors Ed McClanahan and George Ella Lyon, as well as local and regional writers.
In 1993, Thomas More College renamed the festival the Caden Blincoe Outloud Festival.
"Writing was what he was all about," Hebert said. "He wanted everybody to be able to experience good literature, even if they couldn't read."
The college took over sponsor ship of the festival from the Reading Council. No matter who was sponsoring it, Mr. Blincoe was making it work.
"He did all the hustling. He was a journalist for years. He knew everybody," Hebert said. "He would go to libraries. He'd go to the Book Fair, lining up readers."
Mr. Blincoe was soft-spoken and had the manners of a Southern gentleman.
"Caden was a class act in every way," Hebert said.
Mr. Blincoe and his wife, Elizabeth Blincoe, lived in Boone County.
Mr. Blincoe was diagnosed with cancer last year.
Even though his health was failing, he took his usual active role in the Caden Blincoe Outloud Festival last February.
Arrangements are pending at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.
