Delores Shields, 57, of Hebron, died at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was a homemaker. A son, Paul Duane Shields, died in 1987.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Shields; a daughter, Cindy Smallwood at home; sisters, Leola Green of Hebron, Goldie Freeman, Mary McDaniel and Jean Mullins, all of Union, Joy Holt of Sparta and Kathy Sawyer of London; brothers, David Rowe of Walton and Clinton Rowe of Burlington; and one granddaughter.

Sondra Jean Toensmeyer, 36, of Demossville, died Tuesday on Highway 177 in Pendleton County of injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Survivors include her husband, John Toensmeyer; a son, Matthew Toensmeyer of Demossville; daughters, Sara Toensmeyer and Tara Toensmeyer, both of Demossville; a sister, Sheila Slocum of Demossville; her mother, Norma Jean Hughes of Chicago; her father, Jerry Fisk of Fiskburg; and a grandmother, Evelyn Marie Griffin of Demossvi lle.

Bruce Bailer Wesselman, 51, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 7:14 p.m. Sunday at University Hospital in Cincinnati. He was a paralegal for inmates in Kentucky prisons and a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Wesselman; a sister, Phyllis Bethtold of Fort Wright; half-sisters, Carrie Centers of Hebron, Loretta Hudgens of Dandridge, Tenn., and Kathleen Griffin of Burlington; and half-brothers, Richard Seifert and Donald Seifert, both of Florence.
Mass of Christian burial was this morning at St. Paul Church, Florence. Burial was in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, handled arrangements.

Irene West, 81, of Dayton, died at 2:54 p.m. Tuesday at Woodspoint Nursing Home in Florence. She was a homemaker. Her husband, William Homer West, died in 1979.
Survivors include sons, Eric West of Morning View, Earl Pennington of Pensacola, Fla., Paul Pennington of Portage, Ind., and James Pennington of Flint, Mich.; daughters, Roberta Larison of Morning View and Brenda Smith of Independence; brothers, Frank Powers of Brooksville and Bing Powers of Erlanger; a sister, Anna Rose McCoy of Covington; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

William McGurn, Bellevue City Council member
William H. McGurn of Bellevue believed in serving his community.
Mr. McGurn, 66, was a former Bellevue city council member, and he also served on the Bellevue Board of Education.
"He saw it as an obligation to his community and to his city," said his son, Michael D. McGurn of Fort Thomas. "He just liked being involved."
Mr. McGurn died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a sales representative and a member of Bellevue Vets.
Mr. McGurn also was involved at Bellevue High School, serving as a mentor to students. He also was instrumental in the track meets at the high school in the 1960s and 1970s.
Mr. McGurn enjoyed golfing, gardening and working out at the YMCA in Walnut Hills.
"He was a very highly respected person in the community," his son said. "He leaves behind a lot of dear friends, and he'll be greatly missed by a lot of people."
Survivors also include his wife, Joyce McGurn; son, Kenneth A. McGurn of Cadiz, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Mary Louise West Coulter, 84, of Maysville, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. She was a member of Coates Street Presbyterian Church in Moberly, Mo., and an active volunteer with Mason County Museum. Her husband, Glenn Coulter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Lynn David and Ann Belcher, both of Maysville; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Felix Gilbert, 64, of Cynthiana, died Tuesday at his home. He was a retired employee of General Electric, Cincinnati, and an Army veteran.

Robert Dale James, 38, of Villa Hills, died Monday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a former project manager with Litton Industries and a former member of Lakeside Christian Church in Lakeside Park and St. Paul Christian Community Church. He was involved with Promise Keepers, and led several Experiencing God Bible Studies with both churches.
Survivors include his wife, Tina James; a son, Jake James of Villa Hills; his parents, Gerald and Olivia James of Aurora, Ind.; brothers, Jeri James of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Joe James of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; and sisters, Mary Alice Horton and Lora James, both of Aurora.

Virginia M. Kenney, 83, of Wakefield, Mass., died at 11:47 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired dental office receptionist, and a member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield. She was a member of the church council, a coordinator for a soup kitchen in Lynn, Mass., and volunteered at Bear Hill Nursing Home and Oosterman's Rest Home, both in Wakefield.

Keith E. Kohlbrand, 54, of Fort Wright, died of cancer Wednesday at his home. He was a self-employed painter.
