Larry D. Britton, 52, of Harrodsburg died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Larry was born September 1, 1958 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Davis and Thelma Graham Britton. He was a farmer.
Larry is survived by three brothers: John B. (Nettie) Britton, Buddy (Janice) Britton and Danny Ray (Sharon) Britton all of Harrodsburg, one aunt: Marie Cowan of South Carolina and one uncle: Wilbur Britton of Harrodsburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. George Dye officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery
with Chad Young, Brad Young, Mike Coslow, Scott Howard, Travis Scarborough and Holbert Combs serving as pallbearers. Larry’s nieces and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, April 21, 2011 and after 7:00 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Ila Catherine McQueary Chilton, 79, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday April 16, 2011 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born March 13, 1932 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Egbert and Lena Grace Brown McQueary. She was retired from Cricketeer, was a member of the Harrodsburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Survivors include four daughters: Lois (Joe) Harmon of Springfield, Marlene (LeRoy) Darland of Mercer County, Patricia King of Danville, and Gloria (Bill) Sullivan of Columbia. Seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her companion Wilmer Pendleton also survive.
She was preceded in death by one son William Cordel Chilton, three brothers: Roscoe, Leo, and Junior McQueary, and one great grandson Dallas King.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mark King and Chris Darland officiating. Burial will be in Valley Oak Cemetery
in Casey County with Michael Horn, Joseph King, Alex King, Chris Waddell, Shawn Waddell, Chrystian Waddell, Tim King, Mark King, and Kevin Horn serving as pallbearers.

Maxie Stapleton Carroll, 71, widow of Harold Stapleton and James Carroll, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born April 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late William Jesse and Drucillia Rodgers Pasley. She was a retired Administrative Clerk for Kentucky Utilities and was a member of the Berea Christian Church. Maxie was a co-founder of the Care Club of Kentucky Utilities; she enjoyed playing the piano, growing flowers, and bird/squirrel watching.
Survivors include two sons: Richard (Carol) Stapleton of Lexington and Michael (Kelley) Stapleton of Harrodsburg; one step-son Harold Wayne Stapleton of Peru, IN., five grandchildren: Steve Ostafin, Melissa Clifton, Brian Scott Stapleton, Leslie Nicole Stapleton, and Heather Stapleton; several great grandchildren, one great great grandson, her close family friend Jimmy (Brigette) Howard, and her constant companion shih tzu Molly Marie also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother Herman Ulysees Pasley and two sisters who were stillborn: Dorothy Waveline Pasley and Ocie Madeline Pasley.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. John Westerfield officiating. Burial will be in Berea Christian Church Cemetery
with Tony Thompson, Jason Thompson, Scott Patton, Stanley Patton, Bob Webb and Steve Brogle serving as pallbearers.

Coleman D. Durr, 78, husband of Forty-Four Years to Helen Warner Durr, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his residence. Born March 11, 1933 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Ancil and Lydia Ross Durr. He was a retired Foreman for the City of Harrodsburg Street Department, and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Coleman was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, gardening, walking, and working with puzzles.
Survivors besides his wife include two daughters: Susan Durr of Danville and Janice Lynn Minch of Owenton. Two sons: Jay Peavler of Harrodsburg and Darrell Peavler of Greenwood, IN. Two sisters: Vietta Grigsby and Judy Curtsinger both of Harrodsburg. Seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by one son Jerry Peavler.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Nicole Dailey, 28, wife of Jason Dailey of Harrodsburg, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Nicole was the daughter of James Ricky and Kimberly Ann Edwards of Harrodsburg. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, hiking, being in the outdoors and going to flea markets and yard sales.
Besides her husband and parents, Nicole is survived by her maternal grandfather Roger Hall of Lawrenceburg, two daughters: Kirsten Carey and Katelynn Dailey both of Harrodsburg, and one son James Dailey of Harrodsburg. One sister Alisha Edwards of Harrodsburg and several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her brother Brandon Edwards.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery

Anita Lavon Bottom, 54, widow of Darren Bottom, died March 10, 2011 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born March 15, 1956 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William James and Bessie Opal Smith Bast. She was self employed and was a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters: Angela McGinnis and her husband, Dwight of Mercer County, Amanda Merriman Tatum of Mercer County; and Staci Thompson and her husband Andy of Burgin; one son: Larry Merriman, Jr. and his wife, LeaAnn of Anderson County; two brothers: Donnie Bast of Harrodsburg and Tony Bast of Salvisa, one sister: Judy Hurst of Harrodsburg and six grandchildren and one grandchild to be born in September.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Merriman; two sisters: Betty Olzanski and Nora Patterson and three brothers: Leroy Bast, Connie Bast and Danny Bast.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March13, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Hurst, Bro. George Dye and Bro. John Kesel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery

Eleanor Carr Curtis, 89, passed away on March 8, 2011. Born March 5, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Omer and Edna Dean Carr, Sr. Eleanor grew up in Harrodsburg, where she met the love of her life, David Curtis. They married in 1943 and with the exception of David’s service in WWII, were never far from each other for sixty-eight years. They later settled in Corinth, where Eleanor taught Sunday School at Corinth Baptist Church for thirty years.
Eleanor was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Martin and two brothers, Omer (Sonny) and Lawrence Carr. In addition to her husband Eleanor is survived by her children: David (Lynda) Curtis, Atlanta GA; Diane Curtis (Marcus Manning) of Lexington; Jerry (Tina) Curtis of Corinth and Ken Curtis of Atlanta, GA. Eleanor also had several grandchildren who will always reflect her great love for them: Michelle Martin, Atlanta, GA, John (Mary) Curtis, Rapid City, SD, Jacob and Sam Curtis of Corinth and McKenzie, Sally Westray of Atlanta GA and Peyton Manning of Lexington. Additionally Eleanor leaves behind one great grandson: Thomas Westray of Atlanta, GA, who brought her constant joy. Eleanor also leaves behind a brother, Lynn Carr of Corinth, four sisters: Jean Dearinger of Harrodsburg, Iris Hardin of Burgin, Betty Johnson of Georgetown, Rachel (Max) Sanders of Burgin and a beloved sister-cousin: Annelle Collier of Perryville.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery

Leslie Andrew Norton, 58, of Harrodsburg died Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born September 2, 1952 in Harrodsburg, Leslie was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Dennia Durr Norton. He was a retired employee of Osram-Sylvania where he worked in assembly. Leslie was a Baptist and a member of the Kentucky National Guard and enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and old cars.
Leslie is survived by two sons: Jonathon Douglas (Louise) Norton of Harrodsburg and Colby Jackson Norton of New York, one grandchild: Kadence Marie Norton of Harrodsburg and one nephew: Eric Montgomery of Lexington.
In addition to his parents Leslie was preceded in death by his sister Marsha Montgomery
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lyons, Brent Perkins, Ronnie Abrams, David Abrams and Steve Mattingly. A private funeral service will conducted at a later date.

Born June 15, 1926 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lenora Hartley Graham. She was a homemaker, a member of the Grapevine Christian Church, and enjoyed basket making and antiquing.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia Divine of Harrodsburg, two granddaughters: DeeDee Sanders of Mercer County and Stephanie Divine of Harrodsburg, and two great grandsons Ryan Sanders and Jacob Sanders.

Nora Lee Black Perkins, 92, widow of Claude Perkins, died Tuesday, March 01, 2011 at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville. Born November 20, 1918 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Shannon and Bessie Steele Black. She was a homemaker and a member of the Burgin Christian Church.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by her two sons: Claude Edward (Gee Gee) Perkins of Harrodsburg and David T. (Jane) Perkins of Lancaster. Two daughters: Glenda (Lee Allyn) Sharp of Lancaster and Doris Sheperson of Danville. Six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother Hugh Black and one sister Edna Russell.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Mandye Yates officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery
