She was the wife of Chad Lewis, she was the daughter of Jimmy Darland, Stanford and Loretta Claunch, Harrodsburg. Additional survivors besides her parents and husband include: one son: Kenneth “Boo” Burrows, Harrodsburg; five brothers: David Bishop, Tommy Darland, and Timmy Darland, all of Harrodsburg, Leon (Kim) Turpin, Dale (Robin) Turpin, both of Nicholasville, one sister: Jennie (Kent) Wilham, Harrodsburg; maternal grandmother: Bessie Allen, Harrodsburg; paternal grandmother: Carrie Darland, Harrodsburg, a special uncle: Willie Turpin, Harrodsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a former Junction City Day Care employee and cheerleading coach. She was active in the Relay For Life, also.

She was the widow of Ralph E. Rogers, Sr.and the daughter of the late Charles and Leora Gibson Isham. Survivors include: two sons: Ralph Rogers, Jr. and his wife, Anetta, Mercer County and William D. Rogers and his wife, Eva, Harrodsburg; one daughter: Joyce A. Bast, Harrodsburg; three brothers: C.H. Isham and his wife, Barbara, Harrodsburg, Raymond Isham, Harrodsburg and Robert Lee Isham, Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister: Aliene Matherly; one brother: James Isham, and her son-in-law, Leroy Bast.
She was a retired Corning Incorporated employee, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed her grandchildren.

He was the husband of Anna Ruth Sanders Smith and the son of the late David and Gertie Pryor Smith. Additional survivors besides his wife include: two sons: Hugh A. Smith, Jr., and his wife Denise of Burgin and Brian Smith and his wife, Angie of Harrodsburg; one foster brother: Sam Stine and his wife Verna, Burgin; one half-brother: Bill Smith, Lexington; one foster sister: Minnie Lou Wilson and her husband, Alfred, Danville; one half –sister: Gladys Rheinheimer, Nicholasville; two grandchildren: Chris Lee Smith and Lauren Smith and one great grandchild: Avery Jordan Smith. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Donna Gail Smith; one granddaughter: Brianne Smith; four brothers: his twin, Howard Smith, Hancel Smith, Ruben Smith and Nolan Smith; and one sister: Ann Upton.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Corporal.
He was a retired Corning Incorporated employee after having worked 51 years, and a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Sassy Steppers Line Dancers, a UK Fan and he enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Born, April 26, 1962 in Harrodsburg he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary Margaret Sherrow Boswell. Survivors include: two brothers: Johnny Boswell, Mackville and Noble Boswell and his wife, Brenda, Salvisa; five sisters: Marie Reynolds and her husband, Mike, Harrodsburg, Carolyn Buck and her husband Eddie, Harrodsburg, Susie Sharer and her husband, Walter, Mackville, Mary Lou Henry and her husband, Albert, Harrodsburg and Cleta Boswell, Bardsville, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Elwood and Tommy Boswell.
He was a member of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church, a farmer and he loved to fish, hunt and be with his friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Battle Cemetery
with Bobby Henry, Stacey Reynolds, Jimmy Buck, Alvin Buck, Scottie Boswell and Billy Boswell serving as pallbearers and Caleb Collins, Daryl Graham, Terry Yates, David Mayes, Gaylen Baker and David Moore serving as honorary pallbearers. She was the widow of Bill Williams and the daughter of the late Robert William and Aileen Spurling Rawlings. Survivors include: two sons: Allan Mattox, New Haven, and Tony Cesa, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two daughters: Rosemary Leal, Indianapolis, Indiana and Shiron Hopper, Lebanon; three brothers: Rodney Rawlings, Harrodsburg, Thomas Rawlings, Indiana and the Rev. Robert D. Rawlings, Nicholasville; seven sisters: Edith Husenburger, Bardstown, Shirley Preston, Harrodsburg, Bonnie Mee Campbell, Marion County, Marie Mattingly, Marion County, Martha Shook, Colorado, Nelia Mattingly, Marion County and Linda Sue Rogers, Parksville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons: Joshua Abrams and Michael Mattox and one granddaughter: Sarah Abrams.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed decorating and her two cats.

William T. Watts age 75, husband of the late Christine Claunch Watts died Friday August 11, 2006 at his residence in Harrodsburg. He was born March 3, 1931 in Mercer County to the late Strother and Gertrude Maddox Watts. Mr. Watts was a veteran of the U.S. Navy retiring after 30 years of service.
Survivors include one son Richard Watts of Harrodsburg. One sister Jane Watts of Harrodsburg and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Joe, Lewis and Donald Watts, one sister Lottie Marie Watts, one half brother Nelson Watts and three half sisters: Nellie Watts, Georgia Bottoms and Myrtle Louallen.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Monday August 14, 2006 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 7:00 A.M. Monday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sylvia Kay Prewitt, 63, of Scooter Avenue, Harrodsburg, wife of Stanley “Bud” Prewitt died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born February 20, 1943 in Casey County, she was the daughter of William Coy Gibson of Liberty and the late Ollie McFarland Gibson. She was a Cut and Sew Operator at Trim Masters, a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church where she served on the Kitchen and Nursery Committees. She especially loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and father, Sylvia is also survived by her step-mother Ollie Buck Gibson of Liberty; one son Randy Prewitt of Harrodsburg, three daughters: Teresa Reeves of Lawrenceburg, Sandy (Bill) Sanders of Burgin, and Tina (Brian) Malinao of Harrodsburg. One brother: William (Sue) Stafford of Bradfordsville, four half-brothers: Onie (Judy) Gibson of Ohio, Danny (Linda) Gibson of Liberty, David (Sue) Gibson of Ohio, and Gary Gibson of Liberty. One step-brother Jimmy (Brenda) Sandusky of Liberty; three sisters: Rachel Estep of Tennessee, Norma Turner of Liberty and Betty (Herman) Buck of Indiana. Five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by one half-brother Lonnie Gibson and two sisters: Barbara Derringer and Josephine Gibson.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the Shawnee Run Baptist Church with Bro. Ralph Neal officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery
with Tony Yocum, William Brown, Donnie Cocanougher, Donnie Webb, Scottie Anderson, and Roy Lee Sanders, Sr. serving as pallbearers. Gracie L. Smith, 60, Danville, widow of Richard Marvin Smith, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at her residence. Born September 25, 1946 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late T.C. and Ovie Peavler Gaines. She was a beautician and had worked at Cricketeer. She had attended the Dry Branch Baptist Church, was a member of the V.F.W., the American Veterans, and was a U.K. Basketball Fan.
Gracie is survived by her daughter Lisa Smith of Danville, one son Clint Smith also of Danville. Three brothers: Grover Phillips of Danville, Kenny Gaines, of Louisville and Tommy Gaines also of Louisville. Four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Marty and Johnny Smith, one grandson Brandon Paul Smith, and one brother Donald Peavler.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Releford officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Maurice, John, Bobby Eugene and Cleo W. Baker and three sisters, Gertrude Baker, Helen Simpson, and Annelle Collier.
He was an employee of National Byproducts, a farmer and construction worker. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, music and dancing. He was a Jeff Gordon NASCAR fan.

Mrs. Mary Harris Long, 86, widow of James Long, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born March 21, 1920 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Edd and Ida Woods Harris. She was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class, Order of Eastern Star #309 and the Mercer County Senior Citizens. Mrs. Long had worked as an L.P.N. at Eastern State Hospital for twenty-three years. She loved to crochet, sew, quilt and garden.
Survivors include two daughters: Phyllis Clark Medley, Canton, Texas and Janice I. Chapman, Harrodsburg; one brother: Johnnie R. Harris, Lexington; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Jewell Ann Phillips, 55, of East Court Street, Burgin, wife of Ivan Phillips, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born June 17, 1951 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Ruth Price White. She had been a Cricketeer employee having worked for twenty-three years and most recently had worked at Matsushita for two years. She was a member of the Shakertown Baptist Church; she enjoyed soap operas and taking care of her Chihuahua dog.
Other than her husband, Jewell is survived by her Step-Mother: Gertie White of Hopkinsville, three daughters: Jo Ann Tapscot of Harrodsburg, Christy (Patrick) Thurman of Belvidere, TN., and Rebecca Craig of Harrodsburg. One brother: Jamie Joe (Regina) White of Hopkinsville, three sisters: Charlene (Bobby) Gibson, Mary (Marcus) Durham, and Regina (James) Murray all of Harrodsburg. Five grandchildren: B.J. Vaughn, Alex Thurman, Michael Thurman, Zackery Phillips, and Chelsea Craig.
She was preceded in death by: her twins Donna and Donnie Phillips, a daughter Mary Ann Phillips, one grandson James Mitchell and one sister Regina White.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Smith and Bro. Harold Best officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery
