HENRY CLARKSON
Henry Edward Clarkson Sr., 80, of Junction City, widower of Mamie Lee Clarkson, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011.
Born February 19, 1931, he was the son of the late George Ray and Mary Taylor Clarkson. He worked for 21 years with Concrete Material Corp. and 15 years with Certified Brake Co. He also worked in operations at the Boyle County Convenience Center and for the Boyle County Fiscal Court. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Alum Springs First Church of God.
He is survived by a son, Henry Edward (Tracy) Clarkson II of Junction City; four daughters: Judy (Irvin) Worthington of Parksville, Barbara (Doug) Lester of Perryville, Henrietta (Billy) Curtsinger of Lancaster and Nancy Rousey of Burgin; a brother, Charlie B. Clarkson and two sisters, Betty Route and Margaret Ann Clarkson; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at Stith Funeral Home and Family Center with Bros. Keith Willoughby, Keith Weldon and Doug Lester officiating. Burial will be in the Junction City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Charlie B. Clarkson, Farris Mason, Johnny Worthington, Kyle Clarkson, Michael Curtsinger, Chad Curtsinger, Levi Baker and Jason Hampton.
Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, Thursday, March 24 at Stith Funeral Home and Family Center in Junction City.
RUBY DURHAM
Ruby C. Durham, 82, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
She was born October 16, 1928 in Wilmore, to the late Ernest Corman and Matilda Jane Alcorn Hart.
Survivors include: five children, Mary Jane Baker and her late husband, Mark, of Richmond, Linda (Doug) Shelley of Salvisa, Sue (Johnny) Burge of Nicholasville, Rick (LaDonna) Durham of Georgetown and Laura (Tony) Huffman of Nicholasville, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one sister and two brothers.
Services were conducted Friday, March 18, at the Betts & West Funeral Home, Nicholasville, with Pastor Steve Pearson officiating. Burial was in Wilmore Cemetery.
Bearers were Johnny Burge, Tony Huffman, Rick and Matthew Durham, Landon and Kent Adkins, Tommy Baker, Daniel Sandlin, Brad Bowman and Doug Shelly.
Contributions suggested to Hospice of the Blue Grass or American Cancer Society.
COLEMAN DURR
Coleman D. Durr, 78, husband of Helen Warner Durr, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his residence.
Born March 11, 1933 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Ancil and Lydia Ross Durr. He was a retired foreman for the City of Harrodsburg Street Department and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, gardening, walking and working with puzzles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Susan Durr of Danville and Janice Lynn Minch of Owenton; two sons: Jay Peavler of Harrodsburg and Darrell Peavler of Greenwood, IN; two sisters: Vietta Grigsby and Judy Curtsinger, of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Peavler.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Wayne Spivey officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Bill Cooper, Jim Ashford, Garnett Fowler, Randy Baker, Don Long and Ronnie Smith.

BILLY GASH
Billy Burt Gash, 74, of Louisville, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
He was born in Mercer County to Helen Peyton Gash of Harrodsburg, and the late William Guy Gash. He was a retired salesman.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Paula Sue Price of Louisville; a sister, Judy Lindsey, of Harrodsburg; four brothers: David Peyton (Joyce) Gash of Lexington, Jerry Denton Gash and Anthony Raymond Gash of Harrodsburg and Douglas Guy (Inie) Gash of Georgia and a grandson.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cora Sue Gash and a brother, Larry Gash.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Kirkwood Cemetery
in Mercer County, with Bro. John David Lane officiating. There will be no visitation.

WILLIAM REED
William H. “Bill” Reed, 68, of Versailles, husband of Bennie Kay Smith Reed, died Saturday, March 19, 2011.
Born Dec. 1, 1942 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Hugh Ellsworth and Lois Lancaster Rue Reed. He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church of Versailles and the Knights of Columbus where he earned a third degree. He was a retired band director and an avid boater and fisherman. He was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School and Eastern Kentucky State College and was a longtime member of KEA and KMEA and served as 5th district chairman of KMEA for eight years. He was a charter member of the Kentucky Marching Band Board of Control, was a Kentucky Colonel and was an Apple Award recipient as a teacher. Reed served in Boyle, Oldham and Henry counties as an elementary, middle and high school band director for 25 years. He was also choir director at Perryville Baptist Church and Pewee Valley Aloysius Catholic Church. He was a solist and member of several singing groups.
In addition to his wife, Reed is survived by two daughters: Becky Reed (Jay) Schmidt and Terri Jo (Tom) Thomas; a brother, Ronald H. (Martha Shellenberger) Reed; two brothers-in-law: Joseph Mack (Carol) Smith and Terry (Debbie) Smith; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at St. Leo Catholic Church, Versailles, with Father Danny Schwenderman and Father Dan Noll officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Joseph Mack and Terry Smith, Tom Thomas, Jay Schmidt, Lewis Kelly and Lee Sable.
Honorary pallbearers were: Ron Reed, Thomas Reed, the Rev. Doug Simpson, Hurst music store staff, members of the Kentuckian’s Chorus and Brothers of Knights of Columbus.
Blackburn and Ward Funeral home of Versailles was in charge of arrangements.

MARY RHODUS
Mary Noland Rhodus, 87, widow of Walter Rhodus, died Friday, March 18, 2011.
Born August 3, 1923 in Estill County, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Pearl Baber Noland. She was a native of Madison County and a member of Kirksville Baptist Church. She was a former resident of Harrodsburg and past member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Wayne (Una) Noland and David (Dawn) Rhodus; a daughter, Sue Etta Caudill; a brother, Paul Noland; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home in Richmond, with Dr. Robert Defoor officiating. Burial was in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were: Denis Mullally, Darren Caudill, Dillon Rhodus, Jeff Noland, John Noland, Scott Noland, Clay Noland and Caleb Noland.

MICHELLE THOMPSON
Michelle Hardin Thompson, age 40, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at her home.
She was born in Lebanon, on April 24, 1970.
She was a 1988 graduate of Washington County High School.
Survivors include: her husband, Kenneth Lee Thompson; a daughter, Angela Mae Thompson; three sons, James Lee, Richard Lee and Eddie Lee Thompson, all at home; her parents, William and Anna Hardin of Mackville; a sister, Geneal Hardin of Springfield; a half-brother, Dewayne Hardin and his wife, Carmen of Mackville; and a half-sister, Sandy Grubbs and her husband, Wayne of Danville.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 21 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tina Standiford, officiating. She was assisted by Rev. Nelson Reynolds.
Burial was on Cemetery
Hill in Springfield.
Serving as pallbearers were Dewayne Hardin, Terry McIlvoy, Jason Wade, Jamie Wade, Harley Thompson and John Russell.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
GARNETT TUCKER
Garnett Earl Tucker, 65, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at the UK Medical Center.
Born March 15, 1946 in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Katherine Blair and James Oscar Tucker. He was the owner of GET Excavating Company, LLC. He was a member of Mayo Christian Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three daughters: Tina (Johnathon) Brothers of Lawrenceburg, Diane (Mike) Butler of Frenchburg and Stacy (Brad) Briscoe of Lawrenceburg; seven siblings: Billie (Ronald) Bowers, Joe (Linda) Tucker, Danny (Glenn) Tucker, Zelma (Bill) Carver, Charles Tucker, Kathy (Duane) Belcher and Yvonne (Doug) Toles; four grandchildren; his companion, Sandy Dews of Harrodsburg; a sister-in-law, Shirley White and an aunt.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Olsen Tucker.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 21, 2011 at Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, with Bro. Mike Butler and Bro. Jerry Perry officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort.
Pallbearers were: Dennis Bowers, Matthew Belcher, Jordan, Charles, Danny, and Joe Tucker, Ernie Haden and Robert Lavy.
Honorary bearers were: Bill Riley, Wendoll Smith, Angie Bonta, Darlene Simpson, Terry Owens, Ronald Bowers, Duane Belcher, Cecil Riley, Rick Hill, Jerry Gritton, Jennings Burns and Jason Perry.

BETTY WEBB
Betty Sue McGlone Webb, 63, of Danville, wife of James C. Webb, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born August 7, 1947 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of James Maurice and Beatrice Norvell McGlone. She was a seamstress at Cricketeer and worked in the inmate canteen at North Point Training Center. She attended St. Andrew Catholic Church and loved spending time outdoors, with her family and dirt track racing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: James Timothy (Stephanie) Webb of Lexington and Michael Travis Webb of Danville; two sisters: Bernadette (Kenneth) Harlow of Danville and Sharon McGlone Phillips of Richmond; a brother, Joe McGlone of Lexington; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Stith Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Denton officiating.
Pallbearers were: Bobby Carrier Jr., Troy Gerlach, Dalan Tully, Tony Crowe, Nicholas Hundley and Patrick Murphy.
Honorary pallbearers were: Johnny Propes and Derrick Hundley.
NETTIE WILSON
Nettie Roney Wilson, 102, of Harrodsburg, widow of Hubert “Slim” Wilson, died Tuesday, March 15 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born October 7, 1908 in Nevada, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Roney. She enjoyed spending time with her family of five generations and many friends. She loved telling stories and sharing her jokes. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, horse racing and gardening.
Survivors include: a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Prewitt; three granddaughters: Ann Prewitt, Nancy McGeorge and Kathy Garrison; three great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three children: Margaret Prewitt, Genie Prewitt and Johnny Prewitt; four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 18, 2011 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Brother James Harley officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
Honorary pallbearers were: Jeremy Pawley, David Carter and her great-grandchildren: Melissa Pawley, Ryan McGeorge and Matthew Garrison.

WILLIAM BEST
William T. “Billy” Best, 81, of Harrodsburg, husband of Clara Zella Burns Best, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 22, 1929 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James B. and Vicia Bottoms Best. He was a retired farmer and a member of Antioch Methodist Church. He loved to fish, hunt, trap and spend time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Bonnie Jean Pillers and Mary Anne Best, both of Harrodsburg; a son, Ronnie Wayne Best of Harrodsburg; a sister, Eunice Cocanougher of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Elmer, Walter, and Edward Best and a sister, Ada Bishop.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Johnny Hockersmith officiating. Burial was in the Peter Cemetery, Mackville.
Pallbearers were: Larry Devine, Larry Bishop, Jimmy Cocanougher, Charles “Buck” Goode, I.C. Phillips, Chuck Pillers and Michael Votaw.
