WANDA O. MOORE
SATANTA -- Wanda Olive Moore, 84, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at Satanta Long Term Care Unit in Satanta where she was a resident the past five years.
She was born Sept. 26, 1918, to Elmer Adam and Ida S. (Sorum) Moore in Satanta.
She was a lifetime resident of the area.
Her hobbies included reading the Bible.
Survivors include one nephew, Bill A. King and wife, Dewees, Garden City; two great-nephews, Chris King, Satanta, and Jeff King, Galveston, Texas; and one great-niece, Julie Brennaman, Garden City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Verda B. King Gardner.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at Valley View Cemetery
in Garden City with the Pastor Ray Tweed presiding.
Burial followed at Valley View Cemetery.

JOHN F. BURBANK
DODGE CITY -- John F. Burbank, 79, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
He was born Jan. 17, 1923, to John and Olive (Domney) Burbank in Miltonvale.
He married Margaret Viola Hoffman May 11, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo. She died Sept. 7, 1992.
He married LeGene McGovern in 1993 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She died in 1998.
He graduated from high school in Miltonvale.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He lived in Kansas City and Topeka for a time before moving to Dodge City in 1951. He was also a former resident of Corpus Christi. He moved to Wichita in 1998.
He graduated from business school and later worked as district sales manager for C.I.T. Financial Services until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita.
Survivors include three sons, David Burbank, Houston, James F. Burbank, Pensacola, Fla., and John K. Burbank, Wichita; one daughter, Karen S. Crotinger, Liberal; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Dodge City with the Rev. Ted Stoecklein presiding. Military rites will be by Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714, V.F.W. in Dodge City.
Inurnment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery
in Dodge City.

CHESTER WALLACE
LIMON, Colo. -- Chester "Guy" Wallace, 86, former Plains resident, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002.
He was born Jan. 26, 1916, to Chester Guy and Susie Eursal (Kittle) Wallace in Reno County.
He married Verabelle Rinehart Nov. 12, 1938, in Stafford. She survives.
He moved with his family at a young age to Plains, where they worked as farmers.
He graduated from high school in Plains in 1936.
He was a resident and farmer in Limon for more than 56 years.
He was a member of Limon United Methodist Church Men's Group and Masonic Lodge No. 146.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, bowling, traveling and sports, especially football.
Other survivors include three sons, Darriel and wife, Marie, Aurora, Colo., Larry and wife, Delores, Tulsa, Okla., and Richard and wife, Vicki, Centennial, Colo.; two daughters, Shirley and husband, John Eitel, Ballwin, Mo., and Margaret and husband, Richard, Parker, Colo.; one brother, Glen Wallace and wife, Jessie, Agate, Colo.; three sisters, Alice Weller and husband, Bernard, Montezuma, Eursal Monhollon and husband, Jim, Independence, Mo., and Jane Headrick and husband, LeRoy, Big Springs, Texas; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Limon
Burial will be at Pershing Memorial Cemetery
in Limon.
Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at Love Funeral Home in Limon.

LENA SMITH
ELKHART -- Lena Smith, 97, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at Morton County Health System in Elkhart.
She was born Nov. 6, 1905, to Frank and Dela (Frazier) Lunsford in Green City, Mo.
She married Harry Smith March 3, 1927, in Richfield. He died in August 1966.
She moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle with her family at the age of 2 months. She was a lifelong resident of Southeast Colorado and Southwest Kansas.
She attended schools in Stonington, Colo.
She was a homemaker.
In 1929, she and her husband moved to Morton County where they lived on the family farm north of Elkhart for 70 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkhart, a charter member of Morton County Hospital Auxiliary, Kansas Polled Hereford Association and 1961 Master Homemaker.
Her hobbies included baking and crocheting.
Survivors include one son, Bob G. Smith and wife, Elgy, Elkhart; two grandchildren, Jocelyn Fox and husband, Taylor, Manhattan, and Roger Davis, Jenks, Okla.; one great-grandchild, Melissa Davis, Jenks; two sisters-in-law, Alta Lunsford and Faye Lunsford, both of Guymon, Okla.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Marjorie Wade; four brothers, Raymond Lunsford, Frankie Lunsford, Pete Lunsford and Dean Brown; and one sister, Gladys Heriford.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. today at Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart with the Pastor Jim Brackett presiding.
Burial was at Elkhart Cemetery.
Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart was in charge of arrangements.
LAURA M. TALLEY
CANADIAN, Texas -- Laura Mae Talley, 68, former Tyrone, Okla. resident, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in Bridgeport.
She was born Feb. 20, 1934, to John and Deana Talley.
She married George E. Fisher April 19, 1951.
She worked as a hairdresser in Hooker, Okla., for 22 years. She moved to McPherson in 1973 and spent the last 10 years in Bridgeport.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Miami, Texas.
Survivors include one son, Tom Fisher and wife, Marla, Moore, Okla.; two daughters, Donna Ogletree and husband, Randy, Turpin, and Cheri Krehbiel and husband, Ken, McPherson; one brother, Sid Talley and wife, Betty, Miami; one sister, Fern Rankin and husband, Rudolph, Miami; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and longtime friend, Louis Estes, Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ed and Joe Dan; and one sister, Nettie "Sis" Folley.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Stickley Hill Chapel in Canadian with the Rev. Wesley Holland presiding.
Graveside services followed at Miami Cemetery
in Miami.
Burial was in Miami Cemetery
in Miami.

KATHLEEN D. BRYANT
Kathleen D. "Kathy" Bryant, 80, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, in Liberal.
She was born July 20, 1922, to Olin N. and Emily E. (Lancaster) Boren in Speermore, Okla.
She married Delbert E. Bryant April 6, 1946, in Liberal. He died Feb. 3, 1994.
She graduated from Booker High School in Booker, Texas. She attended West Texas State college in Canyon, Texas.
She came to Liberal in 1943 and worked in the Agriculture Farm Office for several years. She and her husband farmed 10 miles northeast of Liberal and retired in 1993. She moved to Alterra in Liberal in 1994.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Liberal.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley Bryant, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Gary Bryant, Palm Springs, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, including Ruth Davis.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Liberal with the Rev. Wyatt Carpenter presiding.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
