DUANE A. HAMLIN
Duane Austin Hamlin, 83, died Saturday, August 10, 2002, at his residence in Liberal.
He was born Sept. 12, 1918, to Tolbert and Tressie (Allen) Hamlin in Hooker, Okla.
He married Dorthy Althea Daniels Oct. 22, 1938, in Boise City, Okla. She survives.
He had been a resident of Liberal the past four years, having moved from the Woods area.
He was educated at Lemon Country School and Hooker Grade School.
He was a farmer and his farm was once called the Red Top Black Angus Farm.
He had worked as an assistant cattle inspector and as a welder at Tradewind Industries.
He was school board member of Pleasant View School, and was on the Stevens County Fair Board. He was a member of the Pancake Camping Club.
He had played guitar with a country music band, the Kan-Okies.
He was a member of Lone Star Friends Church in Woods, and was currently attending First Presbyterian Church in Liberal.
His hobbies included restoring antique tractors, camping, and spending time with family.
Other survivors include three sons, Jack J. Hamlin and wife, Toni, Moscow, Rick L. Hamlin and wife, Judy, and Dennis D. Hamlin and wife, Kathy, all of Hugoton; one daughter, Charlene G. Titus and husband, George, Hutchinson; one sister, Thelma Hamlin, Springfield, Mo.; two half-brothers, Clyde Adams and Claude Adams, both of Guymon, Okla.; one half-sister, Jo Ellen Stevens, Bernice, La.; seven grandchildren, Robin Powell, Jacque Teeter, Ryan Hamlin, Justin Hamlin, Candee Archuleta, Chad Hamlin, and Emilee Hamlin; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra Lou Hamlin; and a great-granddaughter, Jeana Marie Teeter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Liberal with the Revs. Steve Saville, Ken Hathaway and Randy Littlefield presiding.
Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal, with the family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

MARIA JUBINVILLE
Maria Jubinville, 48, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at her residence in Liberal.
She was born Sept. 9, 1953, to Francisco and Urbana (Anaya) De la O in Villa Coronado, Chihuahua, Mexico.
She married Normand Jubinville. He preceded her in death.
She had worked as a housekeeper.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Liberal.
She is survived by two brothers, Estanislao De la O, Sunland Park, N.M., and Juan De la O, El Paso, Texas; and one sister, Consuelo De la O Ordonez, Sunland Park.
Funeral mass will be at noon Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in El Paso.
Cremation has taken place. Burial of cremains will follow at Santa Teresa Cemetery
in Santa Teresa, N.M.
Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
JAMES J. RYMAN
ELKHART -- James Judson Ryman, 61, died Aug. 12, 2002, in Elkhart.
He was born Dec. 15, 1940, to Leonard and Marguerite (Smith) Ryman in Elkhart.
He married Frances Lillian (Muse) May 3, 1990, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.
He was a life-long resident of Elkhart.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of American Legion in Elkhart.
Other survivors include one daughter, Cheri Ann Bryant Bradley, Elkhart; three brothers, Jerry Ryman, Elkhart, Jon Ryman, Garden City, and Joe Ryman, Pueblo, Colo.; four sisters, Robbin Barlettano, Holcomb, Susan Turner, Becky Parker, both of Elkhart, and Jan Harriman, Columbia, Mo.; one grandchild, Shane Corcoran; and one great-grandchild Paul Edward Corcoran.
Graveside services were at 9 a.m. today at Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart with Jerry Ryman presiding.
Burial was at Elkhart Cemetery.

RALPH SMALLEY, JR.
POWELL, Wyo. -- Ralph Smalley, Jr., 80, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at Powell Hospital in Powell.
He was born Jan. 7, 1922, to Ralph H. and Mae Smalley in Powell.
He married Barbara I. McClelland in 1948, in Powell. She survives.
He attended school in Billings, Mont.
He worked at Boeing Co. in Seattle, Wash., as an aircraft mechanic and at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio before World War II.
He took part in the Navy V-12 program in Butte, Mont., and Seattle, and was discharged in 1946.
He then completed his college work at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. He became a mechanical engineer.
He joined Stanolind Oil and Gas Co. at the Elk Basin Field in production, later becoming equipment engineer for Amoco Production Co.
After various moves, including Cody, Casper and Worland in Wyo., Tyler and Ft.. Worth in Texas, and Liberal, involving 34 years with Amoco, he retired and moved back to Powell in 1983.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a Past Grand of the Powell Lodge No. 17 of IOOF, a past president of the Polecat Ramblers Good Sam Camping Club, a 34-year member of the Anadarko Basin Society of Petroleum Engineers and a member of the local Amoco Retirees Club.
His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing and camping.
Other survivors include one son Ralph R. Smalley and wife, Mary, Powell; two daughters, Linda Milhon and husband, Cecil, and Teressa Glenn, all of Liberal; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayland Smalley; one sister-in-law, Barbara A. Smalley; one son-in-law, Robert Glenn; and one grandson, Dustin Glenn.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Powell with the Rev. Ron Kapalka presiding.
Cremation has taken place, and burial of cremains will be at Crown Hill Cemetery
with IOOF graveside rites.
ROBERTO C. RODRIGUEZ
ULYSSES -- Roberto Carlos Rodriguez, 24, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at Satanta District Hospital in Satanta as the result of a farm accident.
He was born Dec. 12, 1977, to Alcidez and Maria De Jesus (Lopez) Rodriguez in Harris County, Texas.
He married Yesenia Consuelo Castilleja Dec. 18, 1993, in Arroyo, Mexico. She survives.
He moved to Ulysses in 1994 from Donna, Texas.
He was a farm laborer.
He was a member of Primera Asamblea De Dios Church in Ulysses.
Other survivors include his parents; two sons, Carlos Rodriguez and Alejandro Rodriguez, both of the home; one twin brother, Juan Gabriel Rodriguez, Ulysses; one sister, Aracely Rodriguez, Dallas; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services for family and friends will be at 7 p.m. today at Primera Asamblea De Dios Church in Ulysses.
Additional services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Nicolas Robledo and the Pastor Cecilia Gonzales presiding.
Friends may call until 6 p.m. today at Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses.

DOROTHY BOLDT
ULYSSES -- Dorothy Boldt, 88, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Aug. 4, 1914, to W.R. and Iva (Jarvis) McClaren in Lewis.
She married Earl Boldt May 20, 1939, in Winfield. He survives.
She attended Southwestern College in Winfield and was active in the band and choir.
She had been a resident of Ulysses since 1947.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Monday Night Study Club, and Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, all in Ulysses.
Other survivors include one son, Gary Boldt, Ulysses; one daughter, Chari Shoemake and husband, Tom, Overland Park; one sister, Norma Gatterman, Lewis; two grandchildren, Kari and Ryan Shoemake, both of Overland Park; two nephews, Bruce Gatterman, Larned, and Bryan Gatterman, Dublin, Calif.; and one niece, Paula Stein, Halsted.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin McClaren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Dr. Max Clayton presiding.
Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
