WILLIAM M. HELTON
SATANTA -- William Marvin "Bill" Helton, 75, Satanta, died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
He was born Aug. 13, 1926, to William Asbury and Clara Elizabeth (Ellis) Helton in Salina.
He married Ima June Jones Aug. 11, 1946, in Haviland. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a seaman First Class.
He and his wife moved from Greensburg to Satanta in 1948.
He worked for Panhandle Eastern Gas Company for 42 years. He owned and operated the Pic Theater in Satanta for 30 years.
He was also a flight instructor for 40 years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Satanta.
He was also a member of the Satanta American Legion. He received the Kansas Aviation Honor in 1993, the Merit Award from the Satanta Chamber of Commerce in 1981 and the Merit Award from the Satanta Chamber of Commerce in 1977.
Other survivors include four daughters, Susan D. Cornell, Miami, Fla., Kathy A. McCloskey, Dodge City, Pamela J. Brazell and husband, Bruce, Great Bend, and Billie J. Woods and husband, Lyndall, Jay, Okla.; two brothers, Robert Helton and wife, Darlene, Houston, and James L. Helton, Colorado; six grandchildren, Tommy McCloskey, Daniel Brazell, Whitney Brazell, Brett Brazell, Fallon Brazell and Gemma Brazell; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harvey Helton; and one great-grandson, Thomas Allen McCloskey.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Satanta.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Satanta American Legion Post No. 276 at Dudley Township Cemetery
in Satanta.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.

MARLYN L. CAMPOS
WICHITA -- Marlyn L. Campos, 3, formerly of Liberal, died Sunday, April 28, 2002.
She was born June 22, 1998, to Jorge and Reyna Campos in Liberal.
Other survivors include three brothers, Jorge Campos Jr., Robert Campos and Christian Campos, all of the home; grandparents, Avelina Garza, Mission, Texas, and Gilberto and Maria Guerrero, Liberal; great-grandparents, Juan and Maria Campos, Liberal; and God-parents, Pedro and Maria Santos Guerrero, Liberal.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at All Saints Catholic Church in Wichita.
HELEN M. HANSON
PLAINS -- Helen M. Hanson, 88, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Golden Plains Nursing Home in Hutchinson.
She was born Nov. 22, 1913, to Enos and Margaret (Rudolph) Amerin in Lakin.
She married Adam Eakes. He died in November 1941.
She married Irvin Hanson in March 1958. He died May 8, 1988.
She was a retired employee of Ineeda Laundry and Cleaners and was a homemaker.
She had been a long-time resident of Plains before moving to Hutchinson in 1954.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hutchinson and the Altar Society in Plains.
She was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Plains.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Cox, Jamesport, Mo., Agnes Knott, Plains, and Joyce Potter and Marcella Showalter, both of Hutchinson; one brother, Joe Amerin, Liberal; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Roy Eakes.
Vigil services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Plains.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Father Zino Ye Swe presiding.
Burial will be at Plains Cemetery
in Plains.

MARCELIANO LOPEZ
MEADE -- Marceliano "Pete" Lopez, 86, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at his home in Meade.
He was born June 2, 1915, to Luciano and Maria (Rodriguez) Lopez in Acasico, Jalisco, Mexico.
He married Mildred Etta Workman July 31, 1935, in Cimarron. She died in 1986.
He had been a resident of Meade for many years.
He was a retired lineman for the Rock Island Railroad.
He was a former member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ingalls.
Survivors include four sons, Terry Lopez, Hutchinson, Anthony Lopez, Scottsdale, Ariz., Russell Lopez, Phoenix, and Jerry Lopez, Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Camilla Breit, Cimarron, Marcella Lopez, Topeka, and Rose Clark, McPherson; three brothers, Manual Lopez, California, Joe Lopez, Florida, and Roger Lopez, Dodge City; four sisters, Conseuelo Lopez and Elsie Lopez, both of Dodge City, Annie Torez, Florida, and Della Scata, California; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Ann Hargitt; three brothers, Jack Lopez, Jesus Lopez and Lewis Lopez; and three sisters, Concepeion Lopez, Agruelio Lopez, and Amelia Lopez.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary Chapel in Meade.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.

REUBEN H. KOEHN
MONTEZUMA -- Reuben H. Koehn, 91, Montezuma, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
He was born Nov. 18, 1910, to Henry W. and Lizzie (Koehn) Koehn in McPherson County.
He married Frances Jantz Aug. 1, 1939, in Independence. She survives.
He spent most of his life in the Montezuma area.
He was a member of the Church of God In Christ Mennonite in Montezuma.
His hobbies included traveling and camping, and he enjoyed farming and preparing drills for the planting season.
Other survivors include three sons, Ray A. Koehn and Danny Koehn and wife, Sondra, all of Montezuma, and Lorin Koehn and wife, Marsha, Copeland; three daughters, Donna Koehn and husband, Laural and Myrna Wilson and husband, Elvis, all of Copeland, and Linda Nickel and husband, Gilbert, Center, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Erma Koehn, Montezuma; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Joan; five brothers, Fred Koehn, John Koehn, Abe Koehn, Tobe Koehn and Pete Koehn; and one sister, Adina Jantz.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church Of God In Christ Mennonite in Montezuma with the Ministers Charles Schmidt and Donald Koehn presiding.
Burial will be at North Mennonite Cemetery
in Montezuma.

VIRGEL L. WEAVER
Virgel Leo Weaver, 92, died Friday, May 10, 2002, at Wheatridge Care Center in Liberal.
He was born Sept. 27, 1909, to William and Mayme (Spencer) Weaver in Drumright, Okla.
He married Mary Pauline Moulder May 24, 1930, in Drumright. She survives.
He graduated from high school in Cleveland, Okla., in 1930.
He had been a resident of the Liberal area since 1954.
He was a retired meter technician, having worked at Northern Natural Gas for 20 years.
He was a member of the Turpin Baptist Church in Turpin, Okla.
Other survivors include two sons, Paul Weaver and wife, Pat, El Paso, Texas, and Larry Weaver and wife, Floris, Liberal; two daughters, Sue Carlile and husband, Bob, and Judy Ruttman and husband, Jerry, all of Liberal; one sister, Elsie Brooks, Siloam Springs, Ark.; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Barney Weaver.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Liberal with the Rev. Wyatt Carpenter presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery
in Liberal.

RICHFIELD -- Lucy M. Collins, 90, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at her home in Richfield.
She was born Feb. 12, 1912, to Thomas and Rose (Hindman) Little in Cess.
She married Roy Collins June 21, 1942, in Richfield. He died in 1969.
She had been a lifelong resident of Richfield.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, both of Richfield.
Survivors include two brothers, Tom Little, Elkhart, and Albert "Pat" Little, Richfield; and one sister, Esther Price, Richfield.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Richfield United Methodist Church in Richfield with Kenneth Price presiding.
Burial will be at Richfield Cemetery
in Richfield.
