She was a registered nurse for more than 40 years.
Survivors include Barry and Tami Atkins, Smithville, Texas; Joseph Atkins and Donna Nelson, Liberal; Jamison and Donna Atkins, Raytown, Mo.; Jill Atkins and sons, Michael Weersing and Kyle Christy, South West City, Mo.; one sister, Arlis Mercer, Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Kaye Wilkins, San Antonio; former husband, Ken Atkins, Liberal; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Jan. 25, 2002, at Riverside Cemetery
near Noel, Mo.
Burial took place at Riverside Cemetery
in the Ozark Mountains near Noel, Mo.

Lonney LeRoy Caffey, 70, died Feb. 1, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

Vevah M. Clasen, 85, Liberal, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
JAMES E. SMITH
James Edward Smith, 17, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Spearman, Texas, as a result of a car accident.
He was born Dec. 18, 1984, to David Edward and Callie Alene (Furr) Smith in Liberal.
He was a high school graduate.
Survivors include his parents, of Wichita; three brothers, John Floyd Smith, Matthew Lee Smith and Kevin Gene Smith, all of Wellington; grandmothers, Melivina Smith, Wellington, and Eula Mae Furr, Tyrone, Okla.; nephew, Cameron Jay Smith; niece, Brittaney Nicole Smith; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Frank Smith and Floyd Sanford Furr.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
DOROTHY CARMICHAEL
MEADE -- Dorothy M. Carmichael, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Minneola District
Hospital in Minneola.
She was born May 29, 1912, to John B. and Daisy M. (Hartle) Cross in Medford, Okla.
She married Harold James Carmichael Sept. 20, 1933, in Wichita. He died Feb. 8, 1980.
She had been a resident of Meade for 20 years, having moved from Lyons.
She was a homemaker.
She was a former member of the Christian Church in Meade.
Survivors include one son, John Carmichael, Phoenix; one daughter, Vicki Ediger, Meade; one sister, Rowena Braman, Boyd, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jim Carmichael.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade with the Rev. Harry Fink presiding.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

CHRISTAL F. COLLINS
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Christal Faye Collins, 60, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Las Cruces.
She was born June 26, 1941, to Willard and Jessie Henry in Plains.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Hamil, Kansas City, Mo., and Robert Dean Betts, Bull Head City, Ariz.; two daughters, Denise Hamil, Hutchinson, and Kari Cargil, Nickerson, Texas; her mother, Jessie McDermott; three brothers, Larry Henry, Colorado Springs, Colo., Sam Henry, Maysville, Okla., and Willard Kent Henry, Aurora, Colo.; one sister, Dixie Barnhart, Healy; three granddaughters; one grandson; and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband and one brother.
No local services were held.
Burial was at Fort Logan Cemetery
in Denver.
Memorials are suggested to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Canyon, Texas, or to the American Diabetes Association.
LOREEN M. WILLIAMS
Johnson CITY Loreen Mary Williams, 74, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at St. Francis Hospice Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was born Jan. 10, 1928, to Ernest and Ruby (Jarboe) Jamison in Quinter.
She married Thomas Albert Williams July 18, 1970, in Quinter. He survives.
She worked as a CNA at memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs until her retirement.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Williams, Tulsa, Okla., and Pat Williams, Colorado Springs; three daughters, Jacquetta McFarland, Colorado Springs, Elaine Frye, Ozawkie, and Vivian Ratzlaff, Dodge City; two brothers, Hershel Jamison, Pratt, and twin Loren Jamison, Quinter; four sisters, Eula Schriner, and Lily Zeman, both of WaKeeney, Myrna Prewett, Beloit, and Nellie Kepferle, Quinter; one sister-in-law, Patsy Wise, Johnson City; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by twin sons, Mark Claussen and Max Claussen; three brothers, Edwin Jamison, Ruben Jamison and Virgil Jamison; and one sister, Wava Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Manter with the Rev. Kevin Seuser presiding.
Burial will be at Stanton County Cemetery
in Johnson City.

KLEDA A. KOEHN
MONTEZUMA Kleda A. Koehn, 81, Montezuma, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born Jan. 17, 1921, to Daniel and Amanda (Koehn) Dirks in Montezuma.
She married Lewis L. Koehn Sept. 21, 1952 in Montezuma. He survives.
She was a life-long resident of Montezuma. She was a homemaker, and cooked at Bethel Home Inc. for more than 30 years.
Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and visiting with family and friends.
She was a member of the Church of God in Christ in Montezuma.
Other survivors include three sons, Charles Koehn and wife, Kathleen, and Dick Koehn and wife, Glenda, all of Montezuma, and Kenneth Koehn and wife, Sevena, Dodge City; one daughter, Karen Koehn, Montezuma; two sisters, Delilah Toews and husband, David, and Opal Giesbrecht and husband, Vernon, all of Montezuma; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Edwin Koehn, Pete Koehn, Otis Koehn, Marvin Koehn and Obed Koehn; three sisters, Alvina Schmidt, Erma Buller, and Gustena Koehn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma with the Ministers Lyndon Toews, Kelly Isaac and Luther Smith presiding.
Burial will be at Homeland Cemetery
in Montezuma.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Montezuma Funeral Home in Montezuma.

HELEN J. HINCH
RUIDOSO, N.M. Helen Joyce (Reazin) Hinch, 61, former Elkhart resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, in Ruidoso, N.M.
She was born Oct. 2, 1940, to Glenn Dale and Ruth Reazin in Farmington, Ark.
She moved with her family a few days after her birth to Greenland, Ark., where her father was a farmer. She and her family moved to the Elkhart area in 1942 where they pursued their farming way of life.
She attended school for 12 years in Elkhart.
She married George Lee Hinch, her high school sweetheart, June 24, 1958. He survives.
She and her husband moved to Canyon, Texas in 1958 where her husband attended West Texas State College. They moved to Clovis, N.M., in 1963, where her husband taught school. They moved to Guam in 1966, where her husband taught for the governor of Guam and she was a substitute teacher until 1968, when the family moved back to Elkhart. While her husband taught school in Elkhart, she was a homemaker.
She became a real estate agent for a couple of years then went to work for Southwest Public Service in 1985. She worked at the Elkhart SPS office until it closed in 1997. She then transferred to the Guymon, Okla., office where she worked until her retirement in 1999.
She and her husband moved to Nogal, N.M. in 2000.
Her hobbies included wood working crafts and attending craft fairs.
Other survivors include two daughters, Monica Bailey, Liberal, and Sonja Andres, Edmond, Okla.; one son, Gaylen Hinch, Lorena, Texas; two sisters, Myrta Moore, Tacoma, Wash., and Betty Bultman, Elkhart; three brothers, Vernon Reazin, Eugene, Ore., Walter Reazin, Wichita, and Willard, Alto, N.M.; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren Reazin, Eldon Reazin and Darrell Reazin.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Jan. 21 at Capitan United Methodist Church in Capitan, N.M., with the Rev. Johanna Anderson presiding.
