HERMAN F. HAGEMAN
FOWLER -- Herman F. Hageman, 80, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
He was born Oct. 28, 1921, to Joseph and Anna (Huslig) Hageman in Fowler.
He married Donna Marie Gruenbacher Feb. 26, 1946, in Fowler. She died April 3, 1988.
He was a lifetime resident of Fowler.
He was a farmer and rancher.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.
He was a member of the Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Fowler.
Survivors include three sons, Ron Hageman and wife, Jan, and Gilbert Hageman and wife, Diane, all of Fowler, and Gene Hageman and wife, Lisa, Overland Park; three daughters, Alexia Hilger and husband, Tom, Lawrence, Marilyn Robinson and husband, Clyde, and Dolores Torres, all of Wichita; one brother, Victor Hageman, Fowler; four sisters, Eleanora Glenn, Dodge City, Viola Mages and Evelyn Demuth, both of Spearville, and Marie Dowell, Ulysses; and 13 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Norbert Hageman.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fowler.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Father Zeno Ye Swe presiding.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.
Burial will be at the Fowler Cemetery
in Fowler.

ALEXIS WIGGINS
ELKHART -- Alexis Ann-Marie Wiggins, 2, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
She was born Oct. 5, 1999, to Thomas R. and JoAnn "Jody" Wiggins in Guymon, Okla.
She had been a resident of Elkhart since her birth.
Survivors include her parents of the family home in Elkhart; one half-brother, Derek Wiggins, and one sister, Marisa Wiggins, both of the home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of God in Elkhart with the Revs. James Lucas and Andrew Wehling presiding.
Burial will be at the Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart.
Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at Harrell Funeral Home in Elkhart.

MARVIN D. NICHOLS
MONTEZUMA -- Marvin Dewayne Nichols, 66, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
He was born Aug. 4, 1935, to harvey A. and Ruth (Koehn) Nichols in Ulysses.
He married Barbara E. Smith June 10, 1956, in Montezuma. She survives.
He was employed in various positions, including land leveling, welding and dairy farming.
He was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Montezuma.
Other survivors include three sons, James Nichols and wife, Jeanette, Mark Nichols and wife, Kris, and Jerrell Nichols and wife, Kara, all of Montezuma; three daughters, Marilou Giesbrecht and husband, Mark, Phoenix, Ariz., Debra Dirks and husband, Brent, Wichita, and Janice Nichols, Montezuma; one sister, Marjorie Nichols, Halstead; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant granddaughter; one brother, Leon Nichols; and one sister, Vada Becker.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Montezuma with Ministers Charles Schmidt and Edwin Classen presiding.
Burial will be at the North Mennonite Cemetery
in Montezuma.

DONNIE D. WILKERSON
WICHITA -- Donnie D. Wilkerson, 49, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
PENNY M. VAN BUREN
Penny M. Van Buren, 43, Liberal, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Via Christi Saint Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born Nov. 17, 1958, to Larry D. and Donna S. (Morlen) Van Buren in Covina, Calif.
She moved to Liberal in 1966 and attended Liberal High School. After graduation, she was employed at Tradewinds Industries, and later as a sales clerk at Love's Country Store.
Survivors include her parents, Liberal; two sons, C.J. Dunbar and Troy Dunbar, both of Liberal; one brother, Robert Van Buren, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister, Teresa Patton and husband, Donnie, Liberal; grandfather, Sherman Morlen, Liberal; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Liberal with Dr. John Loucks and the Rev. John Andrews presiding.
Inurnment will be at Liberal Cemetery
at a later date.

and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
LORENE M. YOST
MONTEZUMA -- Lorene M. Yost, 75, Montezuma, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
She was born Jan. 25, 1927, to Aaron and Marie (Martens) Nikkel in Hillsboro.
She married Archie Yost in Hillsboro. He survives.
She worked in OB at the Montezuma Clinic, taking care of mothers and their babies.
She was a member of Church of God In Christ Mennonite in Montezuma.
Her hobbies included camping in Woodland Park, Colo., gardening and flowers.
Other survivors include one son, Edward Yost, St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Charlene Dirks and husband, Raymond, Leoti; one brother, Delbert Nikkel and wife, Roberta, Moundridge; two granddaughters, Aubrei Dirks and LaRae Reece and husband, Dan; and three great-grandchildren, Nicole Reece, Tayah Reece and RaeLynn Dirks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Steven Keith Yost; and one great-granddaughter, Mikayla Dirks.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Church of God In Christ Mennonite in Montezuma with the Ministers Charles Schmidt, Glen Yost and Ron Ensz presiding.
Burial will be at North Mennonite Cemetery
in Montezuma.

BEN DREITZ
Ben Dreitz, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at his home in Liberal.
He was born Nov. 24, 1911, to Matt and Odelia Dreitz in Rush County.
He married Eleanor A. Legleiter May 5, 1933, in Liebenthal. She died March 2, 1998.
He moved with his parents to the Kismet-Plains area, where he was raised and attended school.
He worked for Light Grain and Milling, later driving a truck for Pittman Grain and Groendyke Transport Inc. He retired in 1978.
He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both in Liberal.
Survivors include two sons, Merle Dreitz, Liberal, and Bennie Dreitz, Ft. Worth, Texas; one daughter, Mary M. Brown, Liberal; one brother, Joe Dreitz Sr., Liberal; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; and one daughter, Virginia Mertens.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal with the Father Tony Judge presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Liberal.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
JOHN L. DORIS
SATANTA John L. Doris, 69, Satanta, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Satanta District Hospital in Satanta.
He was born Aug. 9, 1932, to John L. Sr. and Opal M. (Lawrence) Doris in Dighton.
He married Virginia J. McKinnis May 22, 1956, in Granada, Colo. She survives.
He lived in Dighton until the age of 12, when he moved with his family to Granada. He graduated from Granada High School in 1951.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1952 to 1954.
After marriage, he moved to Buena Vista, Colo., where he worked as a miner in Climax, Colo., until 1962. He moved to Satanta in 1962.
He worked for Ungles Brothers, Dale Blair and Sunbelt Feeders, and was an active partner in the Doris Farms.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Satanta.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 276, and supported Haskell County 4-H and Satanta sports.
His hobbies included attending his grandchildren's and friends' activities.
Other survivors include two sons, Sig Doris and wife, Nancy, Satanta; and Bob Doris and wife, Jane, Satanta; one son-in-law, Norman Sherffius, Kismet; one brother, Jerry Doris and wife, Glenda, Burlington, Colo.; one sister, Cheryl Frickel and husband, Dave, Hampton, Neb.; four grandchildren, Seth Doris, Luke Doris, Chance Doris, and Kali Sherffius; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Brenda Lou Sherffius; one brother, Lyle Doris; and one sister, Natalie Carr.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Satanta with the Rev. Jeff Miller presiding. Military services will be held at the church.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Friends may sign the register from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.
