FRANCES F. MOORE
Frances Florene Moore, 72, Liberal, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born June 4, 1929, to Harry and Sarah (Lee) Hartsell in Preston.
She married James B. Moore July 23, 1960, in Clayton, N.M. He died July 21, 1984.
She moved to Tyrone, Okla., in 1963 and then to Liberal in 1985.
She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, John H. Bordwine, Wolf Point, Mont., and Bill Scarborough, Ford; one daughter, Bonnie Scarborough, Liberal; three sisters, Ruby Hipp, Rolla, Dorothy Baldwin, Newton, and Margaret Hartsell, El Dorado; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, seven sisters and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Tyrone Cemetery
in Tyrone with the Rev. Kim Domnick presiding.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
OPAL M. HILDRETH
ULYSSES -- Opal M. (Oliver) Hildreth, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born March 3, 1915, to Frank and Hazel Mary (Moore) Dunsworth in Haven.
She married Sylvester Oliver July 28, 1935, in Johnson. He died Nov. 29, 1957.
She married James P. Hildreth June 22, 1958, in Ulysses. He survives.
She had been a resident of Southwest Kansas since 1925, having lived in Stanton, Grant, Haskell and Kearny Counties.
She owned several rental properties and was a homemaker.
She attended Pleasant Prairie Church of God in Satanta and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ulysses.
Other survivors include two sons, Elmer Oliver and wife, Linda, and Leland Oliver and wife, Linda, all of Dayton, Texas; three daughters, Darlene Dickson, Lakin, Betty Brent and husband, Orman, Ulysses, and Velda Holsten and husband, Donald, Ensign; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Jim Dunsworth, Frank Dunsworth, Carl Dunsworth, Ewell Dunsworth and Alva Dunsworth; three sisters, Ida Lighty, Elva Jarvis and one infant sister; one great-grandson; and one son-in-law, Robert Dickson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Ulysses with Pastor Mike Holman presiding.
Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

MARIE BECKER
MOUNDRIDGE -- Marie Becker, 96, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at Memorial Home in Moundridge.
She was born July 24, 1905, to Klaas W. and Anna (Wiens) Dick in Beaver County, Okla.
She married Henry G. Becker June 28, 1925, in Turpin, Okla. He died Nov. 13, 1992.
She had been a resident of Moundridge for nine years after moving there from Forgan, Okla.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Turpin Mennonite Church in Turpin.
Survivors include one foster son, Steven Lee, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada; and five sisters, Lizzie Dyck, Annie Hiebert and Martha Janzen, all of Moundridge, Eva Dirks, Heston and Sara Ediger, Turpin.
She was preceded in death by one infant son, Richard Eugene Becker; one brother, N.W. Dick; and one sister, Agnes Hinz.
Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Home Chapel in Moundridge with LaVerle Schrag presiding.
Another funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Turpin Mennonite Church in Turpin with LaVerle Schrag presiding.
Burial will be at the Turpin Mennonite Church Cemetery
in Turpin.

JOEY D. SNODGRASS
DALLAS -- Joey Dean Snodgrass, 39, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, in Dallas, following a long illness.
He was born May 6, 1962, in Meade.
Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Sharon Johns of Kansas, and Gary and Tamara Snodgrass, Sunray, Texas; one brother, David Snodgrass, Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Linda Snodgrass and Dung Dao and Brenda Jean Booth and husband, Laban, all of Liberal, and Tammy Snodgrass, Lubbock, Texas; one grandmother, Mary Rist, Joplin, Mo.; six nieces; one nephew; and one great-niece.
Cremation has already taken place, and no funeral or memorial services are planned.
Friends may send condolences to the family to Brenda Booth or Linda Snodgrass of Liberal.
ARNOLD O. HEGDAHL
Arnold O. Hegdahl, 75, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Meade County District Hospital in Meade.
He was born Jan. 29, 1926 to Ole and Anna Hegdahl in Big Timber, Mont.
He married Charlotte Tubb March 20, 1955 in Livingston, Mont. She died in October 1982.
He had lived in many different places, mainly in Oklahoma, but he lived the past 25 years in the Liberal area.
While living in Liberal he worked for Seward County, from which he retired in 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Hegdahl, Liberal, Charles Hegdahl and Kenneth Hegdahl, both of Woodward, Okla.; two daughters, Donna Brosius, Protection, and Anita Shuman, Woodward; five sisters, Agnes Skaarland, Livingston, Alma Terland, Reed Point, Mont., Olga Voldberg, Margit Becken, Borghild Terland, all of Big Timber; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Shattuck Cemetery
in Shattuck, Okla.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at the Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
MARLENE CALHOUN
ULYSSES -- Marlene Calhoun, 52, Ulysses, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Dec. 21, 1948, to Owen C. and Alene (Gregory) Steen in Kansas City, Mo.
She married Don Calhoun Oct. 26, 1974, in Coal Creek Canyon, Colo. He survives.
She had been a lifetime resident of Ulysses.
She was a homemaker, a waitress and a manager of several supper clubs.
She served on the Grant County Historical Society board for over 20 years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses.
Her hobbies included quilting and antiques.
Other survivors include one son, William Earl Calhoun and wife, Lisa, Bozeman, Mont.; and one daughter, Ramona.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with Dr. Max Clayton and the Rev. Bill Harrold presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

ANNA J. WAY
FOWLER -- Anna J. "Bill" Way, 87, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at the Fowler Nursing Home in Fowler.
She was born Nov. 23, 1913, to Henry R. and Nellie E. (Rumble) Rathburn in Fowler.
She married Ralph Raymond Middleswart Aug. 8, 1930, in Montezuma. He died June 25, 1937.
She married William Harvey Way Oct. 19, 1961, in Fowler. He died Oct. 25, 1972.
During World War II, she worked at a defense plant in Kansas City and later at Cessna in Wichita.
She was later employed as an operator at Bell Telephone in Fowler.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Rebecca Lodge, both in Fowler.
Survivors include one son, J.C. Middleswart, Fowler; three daughters, Joan Harris, Fowler, and Jean Gilmore and Joyce Eck, both of McLean, Texas; one step-daughter, Phyllis Kellerman, Hays; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Fowler with the Rev. Juanita Catlin presiding.
Burial will be at Fowler Cemetery
in Fowler.
