ROWENA F. FAHRING
Johnson Rowena F. Fahring, 73, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at the High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin.
She was born Jan. 28, 1928, to Paul and May Rockhold in Salina.
She married Mark Fahring July 7, 1946, in Salina. He survives.
She had been a resident of Johnson since 1978, and was a secretary at the Johnson Grade School.
Other survivors include four daughters, Carol Fahring, Fort Collins, Colo., Bonnie Ryan, the Philippines, Peggy Miller, Springfield, Mo., and Sharon Anderson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Cecil Rockhold, Grant Pass, Ore., and Kenny Rockhold, Abilene; one sister, Thelma Hines and husband, Don, Topeka; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Rockhold.
Cremation has already taken place.
Inurnment and services will be held at a later date in Minneapolis, Kan., with the Rev. Don Hines presiding.

GENEVIEVE C. HENRY
MCPHERSON -- Genevieve C. Henry, 76, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in McPherson.
She was born Sept. 4, 1924, Erick Barnhart and Ella Christine (Larson) Berg in McPherson.
She married Jack Henry Jr. Dec. 1, 1943, in Wichita. He died Sept. 8, 1972.
She attended Andover country schools and graduated from Windom High School in Windom. She attended the Salt City Business College in Hutchinson.
She had been a resident of McPherson since 1995, having moved from Galva.
She was employed as a secretary for Dave Taylor Business Machines in Liberal. She also started her own business, Genevieve's Secretarial Service until she and her husband moved to Great Bend.
In Great Bend, they became owners and operators of Wing Oil Tool Inc. and Conklin Distributorship.
She moved back to Liberal after her husband's death and she worked as a secretary at Mid America Diesel.
She moved to Galva, where she helped her son, Vernon, with running a dairy farm. She also worked as director of the Galva Senior Center.
She then began working as a secretary for Arnie Neufeld and McPherson County Council on Aging for over 17 years.
She had also worked as a waitress, worked in the oil fields and served as church organist for her church for many years.
She was a member of New Gottland Lutheran Church in McPherson. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2715 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post No. 24 Ladies Auxiliary, both of McPherson. She was also a member of the McPherson Kitchenettes.
Survivors include three sons, Vernon Henry, Hillsboro, Dean P. Henry, Little River, and Edward G. Henry, Lindsborg; one daughter, Kristina Mcildoon, McPherson; one brother, Charles A. Berg, Windom; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Linnea Berg.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson with Ramona H. Carlin presiding.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Andover Lutheran Church Cemetery
in rural Windom.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.

DR. LORETTA S. WYATT
LARNED -- Dr. Loretta Sharon Wyatt, 61, died Monday, July 16, 2001, as a result of an automobile accident west of Larned.
She was born Feb. 27, 1941, to David and Elizabeth (Wyatt) Butler in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was a resident of West Caldwell, N.J., where she was a college professor.
Survivors include two uncles, Calvin Wyatt, Portland, Ore., and Frederick "Fred" Wyatt, Raymore, Mo.; and several cousins.
Cremation has already taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.

ABELARDO BENAVIDEZ
ULYSSES -- Abelardo "Benny" Benavidez, 78, Ulysses, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
He was born March 3, 1923, to Marcos and Maria (Falcon) Benavidez in San Benito, Texas.
He married Antonia Martinez in Brownsville, Texas. She preceded him in death.
He was employed by Don Eddie Construction and Tarbet Ready Mix and Construction, both in Ulysses.
Survivors include one son, Abelardo Benavidez Jr., El Paso, Texas; three daughters, Maria Palacios, El Paso, Connie Hernandez, Garden City, and Grace Rendon, Ulysses; three brothers, Marcos Benavidez, Conrad Benavidez and Pete Benavidez, all of Watsonville, Calif.; one sister, Aurora Benavidez, Watsonville; 26 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Reynaldo Benavidez, and six brothers and sisters.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Augustine Nguyen presiding.
Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

FRITZ C. VOIGT
FOWLER -- Fritz Carl "Fred" Voigt, 89, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at the Fowler Nursing Home in Fowler.
He was born Sept. 10, 1911, to Ludwig and Anna Bremer Voigt in Germany.
He had been a lifetime resident of Fowler.
He was a farmer and rancher.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Gresham and husband, Stanley, Greensburg, Frieda Deck, Fowler, and Anna Bitner, Elkhart; three nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wilhelm "Bill" Bremer.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Fowler Cemetery
in Fowler with the Rev. Lynn E. Spencer presiding.
Burial will be at Fowler Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

GERALDINE NORMAN
FOWLER -- Geraldine "Gerry" Norman, 94, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at the Minneola District Hospital in Minneola.
She was born June 27, 1907, to Arthur Dennis and Lois LaVancha (Byrns) Coon in Meade.
She married Howard Norman Oct. 4, 1935, in Kinsley. He died Oct. 25, 1994.
She had been a lifetime resident of Meade County.
She graduated from Meade High School in 1925. She later graduated from Pittsburg State Teachers College in 1935.
She taught school in country schoolhouses and at the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. She later retired from teaching.
She was a homemaker.
She was baptized at the Episcopal Church in Meade and later attended the United Methodist Church in Fowler. She was a substitute Sunday school teacher in Fowler.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, where she served as Past Noble Grand, and was sewing leader for the Be Busy 4-H Club, both in Fowler.
Survivors include two sons, David Norman, Nickerson, and Mike Norman, Fowler; one daughter, Pat Zwickle, Hays; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Weber, on Feb. 17, 1986; her parents; one brother, Justin Coon; and two
sisters, Elma Eliason and Betty Hardesty.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Fowler with the Rev. Justin Weber presiding.
Burial will be at the Fowler Cemetery
in Fowler.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

HAROLD R. DUDREY
CORSICANA, Texas -- Harold R. "Raymond" Dudrey, 74, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.
He was born June 22, 1927, in Kismet.
Survivors include one son, Tim Dudrey, Corsicana; two daughters, Diane Ferrell and Loretta Dudrey, both of Corsicana; one brother, David Dudrey, Wallace, Neb.; four sisters, Joan Bruner, Rogers, Ark., Ina May Davis and Cleo Stoll, both of Kismet, and Jane Stoll, Liberal; and one grandchild, Ashley Ferrell, Corsicana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Dudrey.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. July 10 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Chapel in Corsicana with John Bates presiding.
Burial was held at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana.
Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana was in charge of arrangements.
