Deanna "Dee" Bean, 61, Liberal, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born Jan. 11, 1940, to W.W. Ossie and Mildred (Johnston) Osborn in Emporia.
She married Richard "Dick" Bean Dec. 22, 1957, in Greensburg. He survives.
She was a 1957 graduate of Louisburg High School in Louisburg.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberal, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She had also been a youth group leader.
She was also a member of PEO Chapter FA.
Other survivors include three daughters, Stacy Scott, Alva, Okla., Stephanie Musser and husband, Sid, Oklahoma City, and Shelli Bean, Iola; one sister, Janice Williamson, St. John; and three grandchildren, McKenzi Scott, Madison Scott and Samuel Musser.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four infant children, twins Michelle and Melinda and twins Kim and Kurt.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Liberal with the Rev. Philip Shull presiding.
Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Crown Hill Cemetery
in Coldwater with the Rev. Kent Little presiding.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.

GARY D. WAGENSELLER
ELLINWOOD -- Gary D. Wagenseller, 46, Ellinwood, a former Liberal resident, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend.
He was born March 11, 1955, to C.D. "Bub" and Bonnie (Whitehorse) Wagenseller in Cutbank, Mont.
He married Tami Drum Aug. 11, 1976, in Liberal. She died Feb. 10, 2000.
He attended Liberal High School and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He had worked as a driller in the oilfield for many years in the Liberal area.
Survivors include his parents, Bub and Mary Jane Wagenseller, Nixa, Mo., and Bonnie Wagenseller, Ellinwood; three daughters, Misty Reeves, Plains, Christy Wagenseller and Nicole "Coey" Wagenseller, both of Liberal; two brothers, Mike Wagenseller, Wolf Point, Mont., and Jimmy Wagenseller, Turpin, Okla.; two sisters, Susan Roberts, Baldwin City, and Bonita Ward, Larned; one step-brother, Monty York, Nixa; one step-sister, Sherryl Murrell, Falcon, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents and step-sister, Jennifer York.
Welcoming of the body will be at 4 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Henry Hildebrandt presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.

THELMA P. PEACHEY
HUGOTON -- Thelma Pauline (Ray) Peachey, 85, Hugoton, a lifetime resident of Stevens County, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Jan. 19, 1916, to John Ernest and Margaret Luella (Brown) Ray in Stevens County.
She married Earl James Peachey Sept. 15, 1934, in Liberal. He died Dec. 21, 1993.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hugoton.
Her hobbies included playing bridge.
Survivors include one son, James Keith Peachey and wife, Pamela, Hugoton; two daughters, Donna Ray Marsh and husband, Glenn, Albuquerque, N.M., and Alberta Earlene Brubaker and husband, Richard, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; one brother, Elwyn Ray and wife, Mae, Hugoton; three sisters, Louise Shannon and husband, Murry, Yorktown, Ind., Helen Stevens and husband, Glenn,
Hooker, Okla., and Lucille Herald, Liberal; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Corinne Tilford.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton with the Rev. Nel Holmes presiding.
Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton. The casket will be open at the funeral home, but closed at the church.

JAMES D. HABERSAT
KINGMAN, Ariz. -- James D. Habersat, 72, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Kingman.
He was born Oct. 31, 1928, to Norman Habersat and Helen Dellmann in Milwaukee, Wisc.
He married Ruth Carlson Feb. 14, 1948, in Milwaukee. She survives.
He had been a resident of Liberal for 17 years before moving to Deming, N.M. He and his wife lived in Deming for 10 years before moving to Kingman.
He served in the United States Army where he was a staff sergeant.
He also worked as an administrator and inspector at the Liberal Health Department for 17 years. He was instrumental in building the Liberal Landfill and the firing range.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Habersat, Kansas City, and Norman Habersat, Roswell, N.M.; one daughter, Bunny Sipes, Wellsville; two sisters, Lorraine Krueger, Milwaukee, and Betty Fligge, West Bend, Wisc.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, James Habersat in 1996.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Cremation has already taken place.

MADISON T. PARKER
Madison Taylor Parker, infant daughter of Jon and Melissa Symons Parker, died shortly after birth Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
Survivors include her parents; one sister, Ashleigh Parker of the home; grandparents, Bill and Theresa Symons, Patricia Parker and J.D. and Sharon Houseman, all of Liberal, and Larry and Jodi Parker, Tyrone, Okla.; great-grandparents, Elizabeth Fetsch, Liberal, Ed and Norma Parker, Stella, Mo., John and Kate Novack, Deerfield, Charles and Cora Weston, Hugoton, and August Smith, Converse, Texas; and God parents, Jennifer Rickman and Clint Parker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Chapel in Liberal with Deacon Paolo Ducamara presiding.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until service time at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
MELVA L. LUCAS
Johnson Melva L. "Pat" (Combs) Lucas, 90, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Aug. 8, 1910, to Everett E. and Leota (Williams) Swafford in Cullison.
She married Melvin Combs July 28, 1928, in Wichita. He died Oct. 31, 1993.
She married Carl Lucas Sept. 14, 1996, in Johnson. He died June 17, 1997.
She ran a cafe during the building of the Manter Dam. She drove a school bus. She worked as a switch board operator in Johnson. She worked at Western Auto in Syracuse for 12 years. She also worked at the Johnson Co-op.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Johnson. She actively participated in 4-H with her children.
Her hobbies included crocheting and volunteering her time to help the residents of the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit.
Survivors include one son, Jimmie Combs, Rockaway Beach, Mo.; one daughter, Joanne Foote, Grand Junction, Colo.; one step-son-in-law, Charles Wesley Lucas, Johnson; one step daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Riggs, Bethany, Okla.; two sisters, Marjorie Fankhouser, Kamuela, Hawaii, and Lesta Davis, Hays; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Combs, Tulsa, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Floyd Leonard, Garden City; 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Edward Everett; one daughter, Twilla Jeane; one sister, Vera Baker; one granddaughter, Cathy McElroy; two half-sisters and two half-brothers.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, with the Rev. Glenn Fogo presiding.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery
in Johnson.

ULYSSES -- Ariana Lea DeLeon, the infant daughter of Alex and Lilia (Yvarra) DeLeon of Ulysses, was stillborn June 24, 2001, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
Other survivors include two brothers, Alex DeLeon Jr. and Aaron Nicholas DeLeon; one sister, Allison Khandi DeLeon; and grandparents, Oliver and Cruz DeLeon, Garden City, and Candido and Odelia Yvarra, Ulysses.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses with Pastor Berry Durkee presiding.
Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses is in charge of arrangements.
OPAL S. RICHARDSON
HUGOTON -- Opal S. Richardson, 89, Hugoton, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
She was born Sept. 10, 1911, to Harry Herbert and Nora Birch (Ferguson) Stoddard in Beaver County, Okla.
She married James O. Richardson March 1, 1930, in Liberal. He died Jan. 11, 1998.
She helped raise her brothers, sisters and other children, and lived with her grandparents in Freeport for a few years as a child.
She and her husband moved to Stevens County in the 1930s. They farmed and raised cattle in Stevens County, and she had an upholstery business on the farm.
She was a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church in Freeport.
She was also an active member in the Glendale 4-H Club, where she was a leader for many years.
Her hobbies included cooking.
Other survivors include one son, Jimmie Richardson and wife, Billye, Tahlequah, Okla.; one daughter, Nora Beth Hollenback and husband, Gene, Hugoton; three brothers, Harold Stoddard and wife, Goldie, Walsh, Colo., Ralph Stoddard and wife, Norma, Hugoton, and J.D. Stoddard, Liberal; one sister, Geneva Bruner and husband, Johnnie, Kismet; three grandchildren, Mike Hollenback and wife, Sandra, Kim Whitham and husband, Jeff, and Marty Richardson; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, Peyton, 3; three brothers, Russell Stoddard, Ted Stoddard and Paul Stoddard; and two sisters, LaVon Norris and Nina Morgan.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton with the Rev. Robert Bailey presiding.
Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
