PATRICK R. HOCKETT
SATANTA -- Patrick R. Hockett, 37, formerly of Satanta, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at his home in Neosho, Mo.
He was born March 2, 1964, to Elwin and Betty (Reimer) Hockett in Hays.
He married Heather Labaron March 4, 2000, in Grove, Okla. She survives.
He attended Satanta High School in Satanta.
He was self-employed.
Other survivors include one son, Ryan Hockett, Joplin, Mo.; his parents, Betty Wright and step-father, Thayne, Satanta, and step-mother, Hillie Hockett, Miami; one brother, Kelly Hockett, Sacramento, Calif.; and grandparents, Juanita Love and Art and Velma Hockett, all of Satanta.
Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Happy Agers Center in Satanta with the Rev. Larry Myers presiding.
Cremation has already taken place.
Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette is in charge of arrangements.
LAURA E. TURNER
FOWLER -- Laura Edith Howard Turner, 90, died Saturday, March 10, 2001, in Pewee Valley, Ky.
She was born Dec. 4, 1910, to Perry and Laura Hazel (Shanks) Turner in Bentonville, Ark.
She married Victor N. Turner June 27, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio. He died July 18, 1996.
She was a retired teacher and had been a resident of Wichita before retiring to Orlando, Fla.
Survivors include one daughter, Laura Jean Hansen and husband, Paul, Prospect, Ky; and two grandchildren, Dan Hansen, Houston, and Tynan Hansen, Austin, Texas.
Family graveside services will be this afternoon at the Fowler Cemetery
in Fowler with the Rev. Juanita Catlin presiding.
Burial will be at the Fowler Cemetery.
Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade is in charge of arrangements.
JOY SCHULZE
ELKHART -- Joy Schulze, 62, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, in Sharon, Conn.
She was born March 27, 1938, in Pontiac, Mich.
She married Thomas Schulze July 22, 1969, in Tucson, Ariz. He preceded her in death.
Her hobbies included spending time with family and friends, playing bingo and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Harmon and husband, Gary, Dillsburg, Pa., and Linda Caggee and husband, Bob, Elkhart; one step-daughter, Marie Romero and husband, Bernie, Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Donna Wallen, Millbrook, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and three nieces.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart with Father Dave Kraus presiding.
Burial will be at the Elkhart Cemetery. Cremation has already taken place.

ZELTA M. WOOD
MEADE -- Zelta May Wood, 93, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at Meade District Hospital in Meade.
She was born April 9, 1907, to John Henry and Nora Electa (Mundell) Eskew.
She graduated from Baxter Springs High School in Baxter Springs.
She had been a resident of Meade since 1970. She was a retired waitress and cook.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Meade and Women of the Moose in Dodge City.
Survivors include two daughters, Alpha VanHorn, Fontana, Calif., and Electa Whiley, Grants Pass, Ore.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene in Meade with the Rev. Rusty Rhodes presiding.
Cremation has already taken place. The memorial book may be signed until 8 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.
HARVEY M. BULLER
MONTEZUMA -- Harvey M. Buller, 88, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma where he had been a resident since Jan. 5, 1996.
He was born Feb. 8, 1913, to Enoch and Susie (Ratzlaff) Buller in McPherson County.
He married Julia Koehn Aug. 16, 1936, in Cimarron. She survives.
He moved from McPherson County to Montezuma, where he had resided until his death.
He was an elevator operator for Montezuma Co-op for 30 years.
He was a member of the Church of God In Christ Mennonite in Montezuma.
Other survivors include three sons, Vernon L. Buller and wife, Shirley, Duane Dale Buller and Ronald Ray Buller, all of Montezuma; one daughter, Sharon Kay Unruh and husband, Denton, Wichita; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers, Eben Buller and Leslie Buller; and one infant sister, Selma Buller.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of God In Christ Mennonite in Montezuma with Ministers Charles Schmidt, Kalvin Salsbury and Edwin Classen presiding.
Burial will be at the North Mennonite Church Cemetery
in Montezuma.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Montezuma Funeral Home in Montezuma.

MARLENE F. WETMORE
DODGE CITY -- Marlene F. Wetmore, 77, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City.
She was born Nov. 4, 1923, to Paul R. and Fern Elizabeth (Davis) Brown in Montezuma.
She married Frank D. Wetmore Sept. 12, 1942, in Dodge City. He died Oct. 6, 1988.
She graduated from Montezuma High School in 1941.
She moved from her rural Fowler home to Dodge City in 1985.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fowler, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Enisgn and had served as a district aide and Grand Ruth for the White Shrine in Dodge City. She was a former 4-H leader in Meade County.
Survivors include one son, David Wetmore and wife, LouAnn, Dodge City; two daughters, Sandra Cain and husband, Gary, Smyer, Texas, and Jan Tittel and husband, Don, VanBuren, Ark.; one brother, Maynard Brown, Eureka; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fowler First Christian Church in Fowler with Jeff Hiers and Alan Snyder presiding.
Burial will be at the Fowler Cemetery
in Fowler.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

JENNIE M. RICKS
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Jennie Mae Ricks, 84, a former Liberal resident, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at New Mark Care Center in Kansas City.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
BETTY A. REBECK
ELKHART -- Betty Alberta Rebeck, 80, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at Elkhart.
She was born April 1, 1920, to Burton and Frances (Rogers) Swingle in Matamoras, Penn.
She served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Phillip Lee Adams and wife, Haruko, Oklahoma City, and Burton Kent Adams and wife, Janice, Winter Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Betty Frances Schultz and husband, Horace, Port Jervis, N.Y., Donna Margaret DeLaune and husband, David, Henderson, Texas, and Penny Forbes and husband, Ralph, Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Southern Baptist Church in Elkhart with Terrell Giddons presiding.
Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart.

A.C. COTNEY JR.
FOLLETT, Texas -- A.C. Cotney Jr., 75, died Monday, March 11, 2001, in Abilene, Texas.
He was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Higgins, Texas.
He married Doneva Littau in 1950. She survives.
He had been a lifetime resident of Follett.
He graduated from Follett High School in 1942, and attended Panhandle State University in the fall of 1942.
He joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1943, and served aboard the U.S.S. Maryland during World War II. He was on board the ship for five of the seven battle stars earned by the Fighting Mary and her crew.
He received honorable discharge from the Navy March 26, 1946, and returned to Follett, where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years as a clerk, mail messenger, postmaster and rural carrier. He retired in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Cotney and wife, Trenia, Perryton, Texas, and Dr. Tom Cotney and wife, Suzanne, Abilene, Texas; four grandchildren, Kerri Hirst, Korrie Cotney, Andrew Cotney and Trista Cotney; one great-grandchild, Taylor Hist; and two nephews, Tim Crump, Canyon, Texas, and Stan Crump, Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral services was at 2 p.m. today at Follett High School Auditorium in Follett with Pastor L.J. Ehrlich and the Rev. Marcus Adair presiding.
Burial will be at the Fairmont Cemetery
in Follett under the direction of Mason Funeral Home in Shattuck, Okla.
