MYRTLE H. TINDELL
Myrtle Hellen Tindell, 86, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born May 28, 1913, to Ross and May (Moberley) Tindell, in a dugout in Kibby, Okla., near Buffalo, Okla.
She moved with her family to Clearlake, Okla., in 1925 and graduated from Beaver High School in 1930.
She married C.O. Nelson Sept. 9, 1930, in Audrain County, Mo.
She married Walter LaFavor May 15, 1940, in Branson, Mo. He preceded her in death.
She was active in Scouts and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 20 years.
She moved to Guymon, Okla, and lived with Robert and Darlene May until she became ill. She then lived in the Beaver County Nursing Home for a short while before moving in with Harold and Jenny Leniger in Liberal.
Survivors include one son, Harold LaFavor, Lake Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Hellen Audrain Evans, Liberal; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 12-great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Travanna Sue.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Service in Liberal, with Jose Gonzales presiding.
Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Kibby Cemetery
in Buffalo, Okla., under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver, Okla.
NORMA J. SUTHERLAND
Norma Jean Sutherland, 74, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born Aug. 30, 1925, to Frank E. and Hazel Clore Cole in Hamilton County.
She married James A. Sutherland Aug. 8, 1942, in Syracuse. He survives.
She lived in Colorado before moving to Wichita and then moving to Liberal in 1950.
She attended beauty school and owned and operated the Cut and Curl in Liberal. She retired in 1978.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Beta Sigma Phi, both of Liberal. She had just received her 50-year pin for Beta Sigma Phi.
Other survivors include two sons, James R. Sutherland and wife, Judy, Meade, and Timothy E. Sutherland and wife, Ann, Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Francis O'Brate, Garden City; four grandchildren, Scott, Shan and Timera Sutherland, and Nikki Moler; and one great-granddaughter, Konner Moler.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Chapel in Liberal with the Rev. Stephen Saville presiding.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at the Syracuse Cemetery
in Syracuse.
Friends may call at Miller Mortuary in Liberal until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
PATRICK D. JOHNSON
ULYSSES -- Patrick Doyle Johnson, 34, a former Ulysses resident, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Fort Pierce, Fla.
He was born Oct. 8, 1965, to Carl W. and Deanna F. (Nash) Johnson in Ulysses.
He graduated from Ulysses High School in Ulysses in 1984, and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg in 1989.
He was a middle school technology teacher at Northport Middle School in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses.
His hobbies included bowling, fishing, scuba diving, singing and music.
Survivors include his parents of Ulysses; one brother, Keenan W. Johnson, Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Jill Fishburn, Tempe, Ariz.; his grandparents, Doyle and Bonnie Nash, Ulysses; one nephew, Grant Fishburn; and one niece, Madelyne Fishburn.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, with Dr. Max Clayton presiding.
Private burial services will be Friday at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
The family suggests memorials be given to the First United Methodist Church Restoration Fund or to the Grant County Scholarship Foundation. Memorials may be made in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
ESTHER MARIE HAMM
Esther Marie Hamm, 94, Liberal, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born Sept. 11, 1905, to Isaac W. and Nettie (Cornelson) Wiebe in Marion County. She completed her eighth grade education in Marion County.
She was a homemaker. She attended the First Southern Baptist Church while in Liberal and maintained membership in the Gospel of Grace Church in Hooker, Okla.
She married Henry S. Hamm March 8, 1925, in Hooker. He died Feb. 10, 1994.
Survivors include one son, Willis Hamm and wife, JoAnn, Denver; two daughters, Lorena Classen and husband, Levi, Liberal, and Melvina Wichert, Hooker; one daughter-in-law, Ruby Hamm, Wichita, one brother, Ernest Wiebe, Hooker; and three sisters, Helen Hamm, Hooker, Mabel and Sarah Toews, Enid, Okla.; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; one son, H. LaVerne "Hank" Hamm; one grandson, Galen Wichert; a brother, Albert Wiebe; and a sister, Bessie Voth.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gospel of Grace Church with the Rev. Keith Bryant presiding.
Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery, Hooker.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Kitch Funeral Home in Liberal.

GEORGE SEELEY
MEADE -- George "Buddy" Seeley, 65, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his home in Meade.
He was born Dec. 25, 1934, to Willy Robert and Sarah (Moore) Seeley in Sunset, Ark.
He retired from Southwest Medical Center, Liberal, in January 1998.
He married Judith Ann Bergen, March 2, 1962, in Mingo. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Raymond Seeley, Meade, and Richard Seeley and wife, Wendy, Ulysses; two daughters, Roxann Paramore and husband, Raymond, Little River, and Rosalee Hulett and husband, Allen, South Hutchinson; his mother, Sarah
Hutchinsons of Arkansas; four brothers, James, Donnie, and J.D. Seeley, all of Arkansas, and Charles Hutchinsons, Meade; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Wayne Wilson presiding. Friends may call Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade. Burial will be at the Plains Cemetery, Plains.

EARLENE F. WILLIAMSON
Johnson -- Earlene F. Williamson, 59, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit, in Johnson.
She was born Jan. 24, 1941, to James Earl and Dollie Viola (Hannigan) Nairn in Laverne, Okla.
She was raised in Syracuse. She was a certified Bob Ross Painting Instructor, charted family genealogies, and worked 18 years as a bookkeeper for Baily Estate. She had been a resident of Johnson since 1975.
She married John Williamson Aug. 16, 1970. He survives.
Other survivors include one son, Rick Williamson and wife, Cindy, Johnson; three daughters, Shari Lafawn King and husband, Ron, Eskridge, Robin LaVonda Heckel and husband, Greg, Ulysses, Joni Michelle Hale and husband, Clint, Clarksville, Tenn.; two brothers, Joe Nairn, Syracuse, and Archie L. Nairn, Johnson; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harley Nairn.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Stanton County Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Warner presiding. Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m at Garnand Funeral Home, Johnson.

MARY I. FRAME
Mary Frame, 101, Liberal, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Wheatridge Park Care Center.
She was born Sept. 9, 1898, to Albert R. and Susan L. (Armstrong) Hughes in Linn County.
She had lived in Liberal since 1923, when she moved from Meade.
She taught school in Liberal for 30 years before she retired.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma, PEO and Retired Teachers Association.
She married Ralph Frame April 15, 1920 in Pratt. He died Sept. 10, 1976.
Survivors include one sister, Diora A. Salley, Liberal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Pearl Clark and Mildred Ware.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kitch Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Shull presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Kitch Funeral Home.
