Kibby, Reta Jeanne, age 80, died Jan. 22, 2005. She had been a camp host at area state lakes. Services were held Jan. 26 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Fredonia City Cemetery. She is survived by 4 sons, 1 daughter, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

Morrison, James “David”, age 86, died Jan. 25, 2005. He was a farmer and had also worked at Hi-Lo Industries in Chanute, Ks. Services were held Jan. 28 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Altoona, Ks Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Louise, 2 daughters, 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Scott, Richard Davis, age 98, died Jan. 28, 2005. He was supervisor for Panhandle Pipeline and Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline Company. Graveside services were held Feb. 2 at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by 1 sister-in-law, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Hawn, Dale Clynton, age 89, died Jan. 28, 2005. He was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at the Fall River Christian Church with burial in the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia, Ks. He is survived by his wife Viola, 1 daughter, 1 son, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

Durham, Lewis Lee, age 67, died Jan. 26, 2005. He was a pipefitter for A-Lert Construction for 16 years. Graveside services were held Jan. 29 at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by 1 daughter, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 grandson.

Barker, Jr., Richard “Rick” H., age 54, died Jan. 25, 2005. He was owner and operator of State Termite Control for over 30 years. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Webb & Rodrick Chapel. Memorial services were held Feb. 1 at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel with burial at the Mount Hope Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Susan, 2 daughters, 1 brother, 2 sisters.

Greer, Irene, age 91, homemaker and farmer’s wife, died Jan. 25, 2005. Services were held Jan. 28 at Potts Chapel with interment at mount Hope Cemetery. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 brother, 1 sister, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

Shepard, Larry L., age 56, of Mound Valley, died Jan. 26, 2005. He had worked for the State of Kansas in the highway department. Cremation has taken place. The family held a memorial service Jan. 28, at the Mound Valley Christian Church. The Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont was in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife Donna, 6 sons, 2 daughters, 10 grandchildren, mother Bea Shepard, 1 brother, 2 sisters.

Brown, Mary Elnor, age 87, of Lake Forest, Ca, formerly of Tyro, died Jan. 20, 2005. She was a blueprint operator for many years. Graveside services were held Jan. 27 at the Robbins Cemetery east of Tyro, Ks, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel of Caney. She is survived by 1 daughter, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Blake, John “Johnnie”, age 60, died Feb. 20, 2005. He was a plastics engineer at Charloma Plastics for 17 years and had his own backhoe business. Services were held Feb. 24 at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale with interment at Fairview Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Linda, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 2 step-daughters, 1 brother, 4 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Plumley, Gretchen L., age 61, homemaker, died Feb. 24, 2005. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date under the direction of Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. She is survived by 2 brothers.

Riggs, Genevieve Marie (Rexwinkle) Wilson, age 81, died Feb. 19, 2005. She was retired from Fashion 220 of Kansas City, Ks. Services were held Feb. 24 at the Community Bible Church with burial in the Lake Creek Cemetery of Bartlett, Ks under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 son, 3 daughters, 1 step-daughter, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Stuart, Bertha L., age 90, died Feb. 19, 2005. She had worked in Parsons, Ks at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. Services were held Feb. 23 at the Chetopa Community Bible Church with burial in the Oakhill Cemetery under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 1 sister, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Thurman, Elizabeth K. (Strickland), age 79, died Feb. 20, 2005. She was a retired cook for Meals on Wheels. Graveside services were held Feb. 26 in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. She is survived by 3 daughters, 1 brother, 1 sister, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nephews and nieces.

Scott, Max Willard, age 86, former resident of Fredonia, died Feb. 27, 2005 in Broken Arrow, Ok. He was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company for 42 years. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4, at the First United Methodist Church with burial in the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia. He is survived by 1 daughter, 2 sons, 1 brother, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.

Cummings, Rachel Lorene, age 86, died March 24, 2005. She and her late husband had owned and operated a business in Fall River, Ks. Graveside services were held March 28 at Weakley Cemetery near New Albany, Ks under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia, Ks. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Anderson, Minnie Doris, age 80, former Coffeyville resident, died March 19, 2005 at Raymore, Mo. Graveside services were held March 24 at Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. She is survived by 1 son, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, 1 brother, 1 sister.

Bartel, Kermit “Bud” Frank, age 82, electrician, died March 23, 2005. Services were held March 25 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with burial in Penwell-Gabel’s Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Neva, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 2 granddaughters.

Moses, Genevieve G., age 91, died March 19, 2005. She had been a sanitation inspector at Medicalodges, Inc. Funeral mass was celebrated on March 23 at the Holy Name Catholic Church followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gavel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. She is survived by 4 sons, 5 daughters, 31 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Schlecht, Inez Marie, age 88, died March 22, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial was held March 28 at Holy Name Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan, Ks. She is survived by 2 daughters, 3 grandsons, 13 great-grandchildren.

Johnson-Stauffer, Paula Adean, homemaker, age 56, died March 22, 2005. Services were held March 26 at the Church of Christ with burial at Stone Cemetery in Diamond, Mo under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel of Coffeyville. She is survived by her husband Karl, 1 son, 2 brothers, 7 nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and great-nephews, 1 great-great-niece. On her Stauffer side of the family she leaves 2 sister-in-laws, 5 nieces, 9 nieces and nephews, other family.

Sanders, Veola Hattie, age 86, homemaker, died March 23, 2005. Services were held March 29 at St. James United Methodist Church with burial at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. She is survived by 3 sons, 3 daughters, 15 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren.

Cooper, Martha L., age 75, full-time mother and farm wife, died March 20, 2005. Services were held March 24 at the Edna First Baptist Church with burial in the North Edna Cemetery under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont, Ks. She is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 4 grandchildren, 1 sister.

Lambert, Opal L., age 87, died March 22, 2005. Graveside services were held March 25 at Weakley Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Porter, Cecilia May, age 75, retired teacher, died March 25, 2005. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30 at the Sacred Heart Church with burial at Fredonia City Cemetery, under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 4 brothers, 1 sister, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Coleman, Dorothy M., age 97, died March 24, 2005. Graveside services were held March 28 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Ks under the direction of Potts Chapel. She is survived by 1 half-sister, 3 step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Lang, Ella A., age 100, died March 25, 2005. Services were held March 29 at the Zion Lutheran Church with interment at the Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel. She is survived by 1 sister, several nieces and nephews.

Martinez, Raul Anthony “Tony”, age 63, of Tulsa, Ok, salesman in advertising, died March 21, 2005. Cremation has taken place and graveside memorial services were held March 24 at Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel. He is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 granddaughter.

Pittenger, Dolores M., age 83, died March 23, 2005. Funeral mass was celebrated March 28 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church with burial at the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville, Ks, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. She is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
