Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Metropolitan Baptist Temple, 9th and Washington, with visitation from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Lawrence V. Murphy
Lawrence “Larry” V. Murphy, age 84 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Dec. 14, 2008. Funeral Services will be 11:00am Wednesday Dec. 17 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Presbyterian Manor – Good Samaritan Fund in care of the funeral home.
Larry was born on Nov. 16, 1924 in Cotter, AR. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII where he flew 35 missions in the European Theater. He retired from Sears at Tower Plaza after 30 plus years of service. Survivors include his children Laureen Mason and husband James of Kansas City, KS., Patrick Murphy and wife Tracy of Blue Springs, MO., one sister Kathleen Liles of Kansas City, KS., one grandson, three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Irene Huberleon Forch, 76, of Kansas City, Kan., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at First Baptist Church, KCK.
Thomas Francis Hall
Mr. Thomas Francis Hall of Port Jervis, NY died Monday, October 27, 2008 at home. He was 87.
He was born November 5, 1920 in Easton, KS the son of the late Joseph and the late Mary Cahill Hall.
Thomas was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He served the United States from 1939 to 1950’s and was in President Truman’s Presidential Guard Unit. Thomas flew on the Sacred Cow which was President Turman’s Plane. Thomas also held the highest rank of an enlisted soldier which was Commander Seargeant Major.
Thomas was an active member of Roosa - Fleming V. F. W. Post No. 161, Port Jervis. Thomas has been a 56 year member of the United States VFW joining in Adelphi, Alaska in 1947. Thomas also sold ‘’Buddie Poppies’’ each year for the VFW.
Surviving are:
2 Sisters: Helen Thompson of Kansas City, KS and Jeanette Porter of Kansas City, KS
4 Nephews: Charles, Jim & Gary Winkler Ben Thompson. Also Great Nieces And Great Nephews.
Also Many Close Friends Who Were Like Family At The Roosa Fleming VFW Post 161 in Port Jervis And Dad's Change Of Pace, especially his close friends Floyd Babcock and Dawn Amato of Sparrowbush.
Predeceased Brother: Patrick Hall and a Predeceased Sister: Mary Esther Winkler.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 3:00pm Orange County Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.
Cremation will be at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.

Grover T. Rhodus
Grover T. Rhodus, 88, formerly of Kansas City, KS died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center. Funeral services 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Basehor Baptist Church, 3714 N. 155th St. in Basehor. Friends may call on the family from 5-7 P.M. Friday at the Porter funeral home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Mr. Rhodus was born August 7, 1920, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO where he lettered in Track in 1937. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. Grover was a letter carrier for 28 years with the United States Postal Service before retiring in 1977. He loved coaching 3&2 baseball.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cecilina; daughter, Robin; and second wife, Elaine. Survivors include his son Gary, (Marsha) Rhodus, of Big Canoe, GA; step-son, Vaughn (Sherry) Bishop, Rising City, NE; son, David (Anne) Rhodus, Alpharetta, GA; and son, Wayne (Deborah) Rhodus; grandchildren, Greg, and Brad Rhodus; Kendra Conkle; Keri Mangers; Kyle Bishop; Bret Rhodus; Jill Clark; Doug Rhodus; Lindsay Gedney; and Lauren Rhodus; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Ronald “Thor” Rodenbaugh
Ronald “Thor” Rodenbaugh, 37, of Raytown, Mo. passed away Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 at Centerpoint Hospital, Independence, Mo. The Visitation was held at Raytown South High School on Friday, November 14th and the Funeral Service was held Saturday, November 15th at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, KCK. Thor was born January 16th, 1971 to Ronald “J” & Christina (Morris) Rodenbaugh in Kansas City, Mo. He was employed by Schatz Distributing in Kansas City, Ks as General Manager. He was a 1989 graduate of Raytown South High School. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, KCK. Thor was a wonderfully, giving, and generous man, who never met a stranger. His hobbies included playing with his daughters, Budweiser promotional events, biking and motorcycling, playing Texas Hold-Em, along with playing hockey, baseball, football, golf and marathon running. He never met a sport he could not master. Living life to the fullest, he impacted the lives of everyone he met – young and old. Thor leaves behind his beloved wife, Jodie and two beautiful daughters, Evie and Lila, and an unborn child on the way. His parents, Ron and Chris Rodenbaugh and sister and brother-in-law, Athena and Kevin Wilson. Mother-in-law, Linda Sparks, father-in-law, Joseph Sutulovich, sister-in-law, Julie Sutulovich and two nieces, Courtney and Kelsi Stauch, which Thor was also their Godfather.
His family wishes to thank everyone who has supported the family with love and who has donated to the Memorial Fund for his children’s future.
