Florencie Sheehan, 93, of Kansas City, Kan., died Aug. 14, 2004, of Presbyterian Manor. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday.
She was born May 8, 1911, in KCK.
She is survived by one son, Michael J. Sheehan of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren.

She was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Lathrop, Mo.
She is survived by two sons; Robert C. Young of Wichita, Kan., and Charles C. Young of Rawlings, Wyo.; one daughter, Ann Wilson of Poquoson, Va.; grandchildren.

Evelyn Pauline Curran-Rogers, 79, of Edwardsville, Kan., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Providence Medical Center. She is survived by a five sons, Michael Curran, Dennis Rogers, Albert Rogers and Harry Rogers, all of KCK, and Jerry Rogers of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Sharon M. Smith of Rifle, Colo.; five grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Milton Herman Way, 87, of Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Providence Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 3, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Visitation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
He was born Nov. 10, 1916, in Muncie, Kansas City, Kan.
He is survived by his wife, Cleo E. Way, of the home; a son, Jan Way of KCK; a daughter, Alta Leah Klayman of Overland Park, Kan., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Zelma Whitfield

She was born April 11, 1929, in Ada, Kan.
She is survived by her husband, J.D. Whitfield, of the home; two sons, Mike Whitfield and Gregory Whitfield; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Louis E. Bruns
Louis Edward Bruns, 82, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away in the early morning hours of April 1, 2006, at Olathe Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Broadview and Reynolds, in Kansas City, Kan. Louie will lie in state from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The family has requested that memorial contributions be donated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or the Optimist International Foundation.
Gerald Julius Espe
Gerald Julius Espe, 77, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away March 31, 2006, at his home. He was born May 11, 1928, in White Earth Indian Reservation, Minnesota, the son of Eddie and Alice Vizenor Espe. He was a member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe.
Gerald served from 1955 to 1957 in the United States Army in Korea. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was a 40-year member of Union Operating Engineers Local 101 and worked with several construction firms. Gerald married Viola McClintock on Nov. 23, 1958, in Pawnee City, Neb. Two children were born to this union, Darrell and Duane.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Viola; sons, Darrell and wife Shirley of Pawnee City, Neb., and Duane of Kansas City, Kan.; two nieces who were reared by Gerald and Viola, Cindy Brown of Kansas City, Kan., and Sonya McClintock, Falls City, Neb.; one sister, Grace Haaland of Twin Valley, Minn.; five brothers-in-law; six grandchildren, three boys and three girls; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers-in-law.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Meyers Family Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Parkway, KCK, where friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Neb., 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 5. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the charity of their choice.

Von K. Glover, 47, of Kansas City, Kan., died March 31, 2006, at his home. Funeral services will held at Little Union Baptist Church, Shreveport, La., with burial in Lincoln Cemetery
in Shreveport.
Mr. Glover was a mechanic for MTSI. He leaves his mother, Jewelie Glover, KCK, and daughter, Jomeke Ford, Shreveport, La.

Robert (Bob) L. Taylor
Bob Taylor, Kansas City, Kan., passed away at Shawnee Mission Hospital Sunday, April 2, 2006. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, from 4-6 p.m. at Meyers Family Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Ave., Kansas City, Kan., followed by an informal dinner celebration at R&J BBQ, 8401 Parallel Ave., Kansas City, Kan.
Born July 5, 1952, in KCK, graduated from Wyandotte H.S., he was proud to serve as a Marine from 1970 to 1978. He married Callie Corbin 1970. He worked for BNSF RR as a machinist from 1979 to the present. He married Marsha Super1980. He was a member of the Piper Booster Club and spotter for the Piper HS football team for six years. He was a proud father of three sons and two grandchildren. An avid motorcyle rider, you could routinely find Bob riding his Harley-Davidson out in western Wyandotte County with his friends Ron and Mike; the rumble of his Harley followed by a blaring radio were his calling cards. Bob enjoyed cooking and grilling for his sons and their friends. Quiet and unassuming, and yet a proud Marine, you could easily elicit an entertaining reaction by asking him, “What did you do in the Army?”
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Irene, and leaves behind his wife Marsha; sons, Jason Robert, Omaha, Neb., Kirk David, KCK, and LCPL USMC Keith Michael, stationed in Quantico, Va.; father, William H., and brother, Clyde D., both of Nevada; sister, Ruth E., KCK; grandchildren, Erica and Jacob of Omaha, Neb.; and his two dogs, Psycho (crazy) and Sadie. James “Jim” William Valentine
James “Jim” William Valentine, 53, of Dixon, Mo., died Saturday, April 1, 2006, in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood. He was born Oct. 2, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan., a son of Roland Douglas and Jeanne Marie Stephenson Valentine.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday in the Dixon Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Mary R. Lopez, 71, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006, at her home in Kansas City, Kan. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Mrs. Lopez was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Kansas City, Kan. She was an educator for the Head Start Program for over 42 years. She was a member of St. Cyril & Methodius Church.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tony B. Lopez, of the home; eight children, Jesse (Cynthia) Lopez, Catalina Lopez, Ernest J. Lopez, Toni (Gerald) Grindstaff, Vicki (Alex) Quijas, Marcus T. Lopez, Mary Helen (Max) Anaya and Josephine Lopez, all of Kansas City, Kan.; six brothers, Thomas Jr., Frank, Carlos, Paul, Lupe and Robert Macias; four sisters, Mary Helen Garcia, Anita Macias, Caroline Galvan and Mary Dolores Seyedi; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
