Mary Maxine Roush
(Nov. 23, 1920 - Jan. 24, 2003)
Mary Maxine Roush, 82, Richmond, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in her home.
She was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Princeton, the eldest of the two daughters of Bert and Goldie McKay Hutton. She attended school in Princeton.
She and Bruce Spencer Roush were married Feb. 9, 1940, in Colony, Kan. They made their home near Princeton and became parents of four children. A tornado destroyed their rural home in 1974 and they soon moved to Richmond. Mr. Roush died Dec. 23, 2001.
Mrs. Roush and her husband owned and operated M & B Broasted Chicken Restaurant in Ottawa from 1965 until 1972.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Richmond and United Methodist Women.
Some of her favorite pastimes included fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, canning and growing flowers. She always entered her garden crops in the Richmond Fair.
Those preceding her in death included a sister, Ida LaVern Martin.
Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn New of Paola and Carolyn Berry of Garnett; her two sons, Charles Lewis Roush of Lawrence and Rick Roush of Leavenworth; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 29 in the Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial was in the Princeton Cemetery.

Thomas H. Morgan
(Jan. 7, 1953 - Jan. 30, 2003)
Thomas H. Morgan, 50, Olathe, a former Greeley resident, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Jan. 7, 1953, in Garnett, a son of Henry J. and Mary E. Young Morgan. He grew up in the Greeley area where he was active in 4-H and FFA with his involvement in the H&M Angus Farms, the family farm.
He was a 1967 graduate of St. John's Grade School and a 1971 graduate of Garnett High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in 1975 and a master's in 1977, both from Kansas State University.
He lived in the Chicago, Ill., area from 1981 until 1993 and worked for Heinold Commodities Inc. He then started the Sterling Research Group. After returning to Kansas in 1993, he founded Morgan Consulting Group in which he worked with his sons.
He was the writer for the consulting group's publications, "The Insider," "Maxim" and "The Planner." He contributed to the radio program KFRM and was interviewed monthly by Kelly Lenz of WIBW Radio. He was a sought-after speaker and writer for many agriculture groups, through which he was interviewed by CNN, the Wall Street Journal and various agriculture publications.
Mr. Morgan was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood and had formerly attended the Indian Creek Community Church and the Olathe Bible Church. He was a member of Alpha Zeta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho; KC AGR Alumni Chapter; and Statistics chairman of the National Hay Association. He was presented with the outstanding alumni award from the Agriculture Economics Department of KSU.
Survivors include two sons, John Morgan and James Morgan, both of Olathe; his parents of Greeley; three brothers, Tim Morgan of Richmond, Jim Morgan of Louisburg and Dan Morgan of Greeley; and four sisters, Peg Biles of Neodesha, Kan., Sue Short of Midlothian, Texas, Ann Beck of Tenafly, N.J., and Jan Owen of San Antonio, Texas.
Services were Tuesday in the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery
in Greeley.

Diana Kay Green
(Sept. 10, 1957 - Jan. 31, 2003)
Diana Kay Green, 45, rural Paola, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, in her home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1957, in Shreveport, La., the daughter of Edward and Norma Lackey Turner. The family moved to Waverly, Kan., and she graduated in 1975 from Waverly High School. She received a bachelor's degree in fashion marketing in 1978 from Kansas State University. While attending K-State she was a Pridette on the dance team and lived in the Clovia 4-H House.
She and David D. Green of Melvern, Kan., were married Nov. 18, 1978. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to the Hillsdale community. They became the parents of three sons.
Mrs. Green worked at Wal-Mart and The Alley Shop, both in Paola, before being employed at Miller Pharmacy for the past 13 years.
She taught dance at the Paola High School and was instrumental in starting the PHS dance team. She coached soccer and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Mrs. Green was a member of the United Methodist Church in Paola where she taught the preschool Sunday school class and was a member of United Methodist Women.
She was also involved with Friends of the Mentally Ill Foundation at the Osawatomie State Hospital and the Miami County 4-H program. She was a fair superintendent at the Miami County Fair. She was a lifetime member of the Kansas State Alumni Association and was instrumental in starting the local K-State picnic. She was a member of Beta Sigma Psi.
Her pastimes included quilting, arts and crafts and watching K-State sporting events.
Survivors include her husband, David D. Green of the home; three sons, Jarred Dale Green, Lee Nichalis Green and Nelson Wade Green, all of the home; her parents of Waverly; two brothers, Stanley Turner of Derby, Kan., and Shawn Turner of North Richland Hills, Texas; two sisters, Kathy Love of Manhattan and Linda Deems of South Lake, Texas; and her grandmother, Harriet Lackey of Melvern.
Services were Tuesday in the church. Burial was in the Waverly Cemetery.

Ruby Moore
Ruby Moore of Paola died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in Miami County Medical Center in Paola. Services are pending at Wilson and Son Funeral Home in Paola.
Johnie G. Albarado
(Aug. 4, 1939 - March 26, 2003)
Johnie G. Albarado, 63, Osawatomie, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in his home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1939, in New Orleans, La., the son of Alfred and Josie Gros Albarado. He was raised in Louisiana and lived in New Orleans until moving to Osawatomie March 12.
He was married to Sharon Kay Davidson on March 11, 1992, in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Albarado was a diesel mechanic for the past 40 years.
His hobbies included bowling and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Albarado; four sons, John Albarado Jr. and Gary Albarado, both of New Orleans, and Johnathan Albarado and Kaleb Albarado, both of Salina; a daughter, Rebecca Albarado of Salina; a stepson, Jason Travele of Kansas; a stepdaughter, May Ann Alleman of New Orleans; and seven grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday in Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, also in Lawrence.
Linda Kay Harold
(July 13, 1944 - March 29, 2003)
Linda Kay Harold, 58, Paola, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, in the Louisburg Care Center.
She was born July 13, 1944, in Escondido, Calif., the daughter of Vernon Alonzo and Erma Catherine Singer Ellis. The family moved from California to South Carolina in 1949 and then to the Beagle-Parker area in 1951.
She attended grade school in Beagle and then Fairview country school. She was a 1962 graduate of Parker Rural High School.
She worked for BMA in Kansas City; Taylor Forge Engineered Systems in Paola; in her parents' grocery store in Greeley; operated her own cake decorating and baking company for more than five years; and then began working for TRI-KO Inc. in Parker in 1977. She retired from the TRI-KO in Osawatomie in 2000 because of failing health after 23 years as office manager.
She and Phillipp Russell Harold were married June 18, 1965, in the Beagle United Methodist Church. They became the parents of one daughter. They have made their home in Paola since 1990. Before that they lived in Greeley and on a farm south of Cadmus, Kan.
Mrs. Harold was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paola.
Those preceding her in death include her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Phillipp Harold of the home; her daughter, Cindy Lynette Jackson of Mission; a brother, Vernon B. Ellis of La Cygne; and two grandsons.
Services were Tuesday in the church. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Arwood and Bill McNatt. Pallbearers were Richard Bratton, Max Servais, Henry Wernsman, David McDougal, Douglas McDougal and Lloyd Harold. Burial was in the Beagle Cemetery. Arrangements were cared for by Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie.

Delmar Dean Dougan
(Dec. 14, 1925 - March 31, 2003)
Delmar Dean Dougan, 77, of Fontana, died Monday, March 31, 2003, in Olathe Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Stanley, Kan., a son of Thomas Aria and Rosie Jane Linder Dougan. After his parents divorced, when he was 14, he lived with his sister, Marie Morrison, and her husband, Frances, in the Spring Hill area. He graduated from Spring Hill High School.
He and Virginia May Bigham were married Feb. 28, 1950, in Olathe. They became parents of five children. The family lived in the Spring Hill, Gardner and Olathe areas, where he farmed, before moving to Fontana in 1963.
Mr. Dougan worked for Kansas City, Power and Light Co. until 1957. His main occupation was with Smith and Loveless, where he worked as a welder and electrician until retiring in 1990. During his time at Smith and Loveless, he served as vice president of the United Steelworkers of America Union 5301.
He enjoyed watching Kansas City Royals baseball and University of Kansas basketball games. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as gardening and watching his grandchildren in their sporting events. He also enjoyed coaching his children's softball teams while they were growing up and spending time with his family and friends.
Those preceding him in death included his parents and a sister, Lillian Marie Morrison.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, of the home; his children, Terry Jenkins of La Cygne, Tim Dougan of Fontana, Rose Johnson of Osawatomie, Natalie Hall of Fort Scott and Connie Nickell of Fontana; four sisters, Betty Patrick of Olathe, Mary Ann Steffen of Baldwin City, Lura Baker of Olathe and Janice Caudill of Olathe; two brothers, O.B. Deaton of Dodge City and Don Deaton of Olathe; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services, under the direction of Wilson and Son Funeral Home of Paola, were Wednesday morning at United Meth-odist Church of Fontana with burial in Fontana Cemetery.
