Gilbert Bouton
CEDAR VALE - Gilbert W. Bouton, 77, of Cedar Vale, died Nov. 21, 2000, at Cedar Vale Community Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Vernon Cemetery
east of Atlanta.
Wheeler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dean Cox
CEDAR VALE - Dean Cox, 84, of Cedar Vale, died Nov. 20, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ. Burial will be in Cedar Vale Cemetery.
Friends may call at Wheeler Funeral Home from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Edward Sexton
SEVERY - Edward Albert Sexton, 77, of Severy, died Nov. 20, 2000, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Severy Baptist Church. Pastor Tony Pameticky will officiate. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Severy Baptist Church Youth Fund. Contributions may be made through Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.
Sexton was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Greenwood County, to Rosa Lee (Frost) and Walter William Sexton. He attended Twin Grove rural school and grew up in Greenwood County.
On May 13, 1941, he married Agnes Orene Ware in Howard. For most of his life, he was employed as a farm and ranch hand in the Severy and Fall River area. His wife died April 1, 1994.
Survivors include five sons, Jim Sexton, Dexter, Bob Sexton, Shawnee, Al Sexton, Severy, Rick Sexton, Wellington, and Charles Sexton, Lubbock, Texas; four daughters, Sharon Roberts, Cypress, Texas, Linda Finney, Havana, Betty Berry, Peck, and Shirley Barondeau, Arkansas City; three sisters, Greta Neel, Beaumont, Texas, and Helen VanBuskirk and Joy Knight, both of Severy; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
William Bechtold
NEWKIRK - William Kenneth "Bill" Bechtold Jr., 49, a Newkirk resident and Ponca City businessman, died Nov. 19, 2000, in Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
On Nov. 22 friends were invited to visit at Miller-Stahl Funeral Home and to go to the family home to continue the celebration of his life. Burial of the cremains will take place in Newkirk Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Newkirk Sports Program. Contributions may be made through Eastman National Bank, P.O. Box 468, Newkirk, OK 74647-0468.
A son of William Kenneth and Eva Joan (Flood) Bechtold, he was born Nov. 16, 1951, in Bartlesville. He grew up in Midland, Texas, and graduated from high school there. He attended Northwest Texas State University before graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in merchandising.
Bechtold managed aSteak & Ale restaurant in Wichita and later managed TGI Friday's in Miami, Fla.
On Feb. 26, 1983, he married Loree Brillant in Danvers, Mass. They lived in Ponca City and purchased Carriage House Cleaners. A year later they moved to Newkirk, but Bechtold continued to own and operate Carriage House Cleaners
Bechtold had coached baseball as well as basketball and also started a traveling football league for youngsters.
Survivors include his wife, Loree Bechtold, Newkirk; two sons, Trey Bechtold, Stillwater, and Sean Bechtold, Wichita; and his mother, Eva Jo Bechtold, Ponca City.
Gilbert Bouton
CEDAR VALE - Gilbert W. Bouton, 85, of Cedar Vale, died Nov. 21, 2000, in Cedar Vale.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Vernon Cemetery, east of Atlanta. Wheeler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bouton was born Feb 27, 1915, in Osawatomie, to Lulu B. (Setts) and Frank E. Bouton. He was raised and educated in McPherson and Burden.
On Jan. 1, 1935, he married Jessie F. Bennett in Winfield. They moved to Warsaw, Mo., where he operated a service station and garage for three years before becoming a mechanic at the Ford dealership. He worked there from 1945 until he retired in 1977.
The Boutons moved to Cedar Vale in 1979. His wife died in 1992.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Ruby Callison
Services for Ruby Florence Callison were held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 22, 2000, at Central Baptist Church. Brother Andy Antonson officiated.
"In the Garden" was sung by Amanda Porter, Kristen Wilson and Patty, Jessica, Aggie, Roxy and Katherine Callison. The congregation sang "How Great Thou Art, and Les Hogue sang "Precious Memories." Roxy Callison was the pianist.
Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Britt, Dwane, Jennifer and Jessica Callison and Dianna and Rob Wilson.
Honorary casket bearers were Aggie and Chad McAlester, Katherine and Kevin Callison and Amanda and Lael Porter.
A memorial has been established with the Central Baptist Church Steeple Building Fund.

Dean Cox
CEDAR VALE - Dean Clark Cox, 84, of Cedar Vale, died Nov. 20, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cedar Vale Church of Christ. Chuck Evans will officiate, and burial will be in Cedar Vale Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 7 this evening at Wheeler Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established with the Cedar Vale Historical Museum.
Cox was born Dec. 19, 1915, near Attica, to J. Frank and Millie (Clark) Cox. He attended Attica schools.
On March 5, 1936, he married Ruby Kloefkorn. She died Nov. 15, 1988.
Cox was employed at the Bill House ranch and attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Lee Cox, Jasper, Mo.; a daughter, Marcilyn Auman, Valley Center; two brothers, Delmar Cox, Kingman, and Frank Cox Jr., Douglass; a sister, Eileen Warrington, Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmie and Verdie Cox, and a daughter, Chloe Dean Jalo.
Floid McCord
Services for the Rev. Floid R. McCord were held at 10 a.m. Nov. 19, 2000, at Central Baptist Church. The Rev. Ken Beckner officiated. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
John Dalton sang "Oh, That Will Be Glory for Me," "Heaven Came Down" and "Open My Eyes That I May See." Gwen Lumbert was the accompanist.
Honorary casket bearers were Clint, Keith, Ken, Aaron, Nathan and Norman Hunt, Jason and Shawn Teague, Chris and Tracy Weaver and Kristen Wolf.
Casket bearers were Paul Book Jr., Kevin Hoyle, Steve McCord, Larry Teague, Col. Rick Weaver and Gaylon Wolf.
A memorial has been established with the South Central Baptist Association.

Donald Coon
Donald D. Coon, 65, longtime Winfield resident, died Nov. 23, 2000, at William Newton Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church with burial in New Salem Cemetery.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the church or funeral home.
Born July 1, 1935, in Winfield, he was a son of Freddie Earl and Evelyn Wanieta (Wood) Coon. He attended Dexter grade school and graduated from Winfield High School in 1953.
On May 4, 1956, he married Rojean Maye Stewart in Burden. The lived in Winfield until moving to Ignacio, Colo., in 1962. Coon was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation until returning to Winfield in 1963.
He was employed by Snodgrass & Funk Construction Co. for many years. In 1963, he became a co-owner of Coon Construction Co., Coon Concrete Plant and Vic's Welding with his father and brother. In 1979, the companies were divided, and he was sole owner and operator of Vic's Welding until 1984. He continued to operate Coon Construction Co., which later became Don Coon Construction Co., until his death. He also owned Don's Trucking and Y-Not-R's Paint and Wallpaper.
A member of First Christian Church, he was also affiliated with the National Rifle Association. He was a former member of the Flirts and Skirts Square Dance Club and served as a Boy Scout troop leader for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Rojean Coon, and two sons, Paul Coon, and Curtiss Coon, all of Winfield; a daughter, Cynthia Coon, Burden; his mother, Evelyn Coon, Dexter; two brothers, Kenneth Coon, Temple, Texas, and Leon Coon, Winfield; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
