Dolores Pitt
ELM CREEK, Neb. - Dolores "Dee" Pitt, 71, of 233 S. Beecroft, Elm Creek, Neb., died Sept. 28, 2000, at Mother Hull Home in Kearney, Neb.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church. The Rev. Dean Pofahl will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at O'Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home Chapel in Elm Creek from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Elm Creek Rescue Unit.
Pitt was born June 27, 1929, in Arkansas City, to Flossie (Cope) and Pete Shehan. She attended school in Winfield.
On Aug. 5, 1946, she married Millard Pitt in Winfield. For 13 years they owned and operated a restaurant in Udall. They also lived in Tooele, Utah, Hutchinson and Rocky Ford, Colo., before moving to Elm Creek in 1968.
Survivors include her husband, Millard Pitt, Elm Creek, Neb.; two daughters, Linda Rutter, Elm Creek, and Sharon Maas, Windsor, Colo.; a son, Phil Pitt, Cabool, Mo.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Roy Jean Bennitt
CLAREMORE, Okla. - Roy Jean (Stamper) Bennitt, 57, of Claremore, formerly of Winfield and Sedan, died Sept. 27, 2000, at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Services were to be at 10 a.m. today at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville. The Rev. Larry Boyer officiated. Burial was in Dewey Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Concern Child Learning Center, 1225 S.W. Fifth, Bartlesville, OK 74003.
Bennitt was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Murphy, N.C., to Iva Jean (Sneed) and Roy Stamper. In 1956 the family moved to Bartlesville where she graduated from College High School in 1960. She attended Bartlesville Business College and was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. in Bartlesville and later at Telex in Tulsa.
On April 10, 1971, she married Craig A. Bennitt in Bartlesville. They made their home in Sedan where she was self-employed and was also a district magistrate judge. She operated her oil business in Bartlesville and in 1989 moved to Winfield where she was the administrative assistant to the district judge.
The Bennitts moved to Claremore in 1998. She was a charter member of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Craig A. Bennitt, Claremore; a son, Keith B. Avery, Inola, Okla.; a daughter, Cra L. Bennitt, Claremore; her mother, Iva Jean Stamper Raymon, Sedan; two sisters, Linda Blevins and Dana Smith, both of Bartlesville; seven brothers, Harold Stamper, Stillwater, Okla., Richard Stamper, Sand Springs, Okla., Jack Stamper, Sun City, Ariz., Gary Stamper, Bixby, Okla., Ken Stamper, Ardmore, Okla., and Jim Stamper and Jerry Stamper, both of Tulsa; and three grandchildren.
Kenneth Butler
HOWARD - Kenneth Benjamin Butler, 79, longtime resident of Howard, died Sept. 27, 2000, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in South Lawn Cemetery
in Severy. The Rev. Kibum Kim will officiate.
A memorial has been established with Howard United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through Zimmerman Funeral Home.
Butler was born June 24, 1921, on a farm south of Fall River, to Gertrude Caroline (Lagergren) and John Henry Butler. He attended Hideout rural school and graduated from Fall River High School.
On Dec. 28, 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the European Theater during World War II. He returned to Kansas after his discharge on Dec. 5, 1945, and began ranching in the Elk County area.
On Aug. 19, 1972, Butler married Myrtle Anna (Ware) Speer in Howard. They owned and operated a ranch east of town and made their home in Howard. She died May 3, 1992.
Survivors include a brother, Marvin Butler, Bremerton, Wash., and a sister, Dorothy Kilts, Brownsville, Texas.
Luciel Corlett
GREAT BEND - Luciel Thelma Corlett, 82, of Great Bend, died Sept. 29, 2000, in Great Bend.
Services were to be at 3 p.m. today at Fryberger Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. John Grummon officiated. Burial was in Great Bend Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Great Bend Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Corlett was born June 26, 1918, at Udall, to Zoe Thelma (True) and George Earl Yarbrough. She graduated from Winfield High School.
In 1937 she married John Leonard Corlett in Arkansas City. He preceded her in death.
A 15-year resident of Great Bend, she had also lived in Manvel, Texas, Arkansas City, Winfield and Ponca City.
She was a homemaker and a licensed amateur radio operator. Her call, K5TUP, patched many servicemen's calls home from all over the world.
She attended the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, John Corlett, Pearland, Texas; three brothers, Jack Yarbrough, Whitewater, J.R. Yarbrough, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Bill Yarbrough, Denver; two sisters, Kay Busch, Wichita, and Ginger Dome, Topeka; and three grandchildren.
Francis Kaats
DEXTER - Francis E. Kaats, 82, formerly of Burden, died Sept. 30, 2000, at Grouse Valley Manor in Dexter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Burden Cemetery.
Friends may call at Wheeler Funeral Home until 8 tonight.
Kaats was born July 17, 1918, near Rock, to Minnie and Frank Kaats. He was raised and educated in the Rock area.
He married Lois Houser, and they later divorced.
From 1962 to 1983 Kaats worked as a fireman at Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Burden Baptist Church and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include a son, James Kaats, Burden; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Lillian Dillinger
LONGTON - Lillian Marie Dillinger, 76, longtime resident of Longton, died Oct. 1, 2000, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Longton Cemetery. The Rev. Ted Davis will officiate. Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard is in charge of arrangements.
Dillinger was born Feb. 22, 1924, on a farm near Longton, to Florence Charlotte (Stephens) and Garrett L. Vestal. She attended rural schools and grew up in the Longton community.
In 1944 she married Don Beiter. This marriage later ended.
In 1956 she married Forrest Darrel Dillinger.
Dillinger lived most of her life in the Longton community. She was employed for several years in area restaurants and worked many years as a feed store employee.
She attended the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Donnie A. Beiter, Longton; a brother, George Vestal, Independence; her stepmother, Mildred Vestal, and a half-brother, Harold Vestal, both of Clyde; and a stepsister, Betty Olmsted, Parsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965 and a son, Dannie Lee Dillinger.
Lisa Drendel
MOLINE - Lisa Kim (Conner) Drendel, 42, principal of Moline Elementary School, died Sept. 26, 2000, from injuries received in a vehicle accident.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Sayre, Okla. The Rev. Timothy Fuller will officiate. Burial will be in Sayre Doxey Cemetery.
A prayer vigil will be held tonight at 7 at Martin Funeral Home in Sayre.

Drendel was born Sept. 17, 1958, in Wamego to Karen (Garrett) and Paul Conner. She lived in Wamego until the age of six when she moved with her family to Sayre, Okla., She graduated from high school there in 1976.
Drendel attended Sayre Junior College, then transferred to Southwestern (Okla.) State College. She received her bachelor's degree in education in 1979 and a master's degree in 1984, also from Southwestern, followed by an administration certificate in 1999.
Drendel taught for one year at El Reno, Okla., and 18 years in Sayre public schools where she taught kindergarten, first, second and fourth grades. She was a cheerleading sponsor and spelling bee coordinator, among other positions.
She became principal of Moline Elementary School in August.
On Aug. 30, 1980, she married Richard "Dick" Drendel in El Reno. They lived in Illinois before moving to Sayre in 1982.
Drendel was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline, the Catholic Altar Society, Delta Kappa Gamma and En Avant Club.
Survivors include her husband, Dick Drendel, and three children, Kali Drendel, Kami Drendel and Conner Drendel, all of Moline; her parents, Paul and Karen Conner, Haviland; two sisters, Lorie Burch, Syracuse, and Linda Hall, Elk City, Okla.; and her grandparents, J.H. and Juanita Garrett, Sayre.
Billy Hamilton
Billy W. Hamilton, 47, of Winfield, died Oct. 1, 2000, at his residence.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Miles Funeral Service. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday.
A memorial has been established with Cumbernauld Village's Hope Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Hamilton was born Aug. 5, 1953, in Oconee County, S.C., to Beulah (McCall) and George Gambreil Hamilton. He was raised in Seneca, S.C., and graduated from high school in 1971.
Hamilton went into the construction business and worked on the Burlington and Wolf Creek nuclear power plants near Emporia. He met his wife while working in Emporia.
On June 10, 1978, he married Marsha Kadau at Tisdale United Methodist Church. The couple followed the construction business and lived in many places.
In 1988 they moved to Winfield. Hamilton was the first employee at Cumbernauld Village where he was in charge of environmental services.
He was a former Men's Golf Association member.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha Hamilton, Winfield; and two daughters, Kellie Dawn Hamilton, Oklahoma City, and Haylie Nicole Hamilton, Winfield.
