Louise Shaffer
LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Louise Augusta Shaffer, 94, of Lee's Summit, died Jan. 1, 2000, at Lee's Summit Hospital.
Services will be held at 7 tonight at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee's Summit. Burial will be in Centralia Cemetery
Wednesday.
Memorials have been established with the Cedar Vale United Methodist Church, Cedar Vale, KS 67024.
Shaffer was born Oct. 7, 1905, in Centralia. She lived in Cedar Vale for many years before moving to John Knox Village in Lee's Summit.
She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Women's Society of Christian Service.
Her husband, Clyde Shaffer, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Don Shaffer, Lee's Summit; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ernestine Sutterby
WICHITA - Ernestine Sutterby, 82, of Wichita, formerly of Udall, died Jan. 2, 2000.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hillside Funeral Home West. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association and Diabetes Association.
Sutterby was an office manager for Amsden Lumber and TG&Y Stores before her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Maureen Eden, Wichita, and two grandchildren.
George Freeburg
Services for George Gordon Freeburg, 74, who died Dec. 30, 1999, were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 4, 2000, at Miles Funeral Service. Dan Paulson officiated. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Vocal music included "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art."
Casket bearers were Scott Humbert, John Jones, Steve Lumbert, Josh Paulson, David Scott and Howard Sorg.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.
Robert Hutto
Services for Robert E. Hutto, 69, who died Dec. 31, 1999, were held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 3, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church. The Revs. Rick Thornton and Ron Keith officiated. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Laura Belle Haines was the organist, Monica Wallace was the pianist, Carlene Wallace was the soloist and Martin Rude was the song leader. Music included "We Gather Together," "The Lord's Prayer," "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagle's Wings."
Honorary casket bearers were Byron Bonham, Harold Lindly, Glen Combs, Roland Sharp, Al West, Roy Smith and Steve Hollembeak.
Casket bearers were Ray Dewell, Bud Foster, Larry Dixon, Dale Irwin, Cliff Edens and Don Porter.

Donald Mawdsley
WICHITA - Donald Lee Mawdsley, 58, of Wichita, former owner of Mawdsley Upholstery in Winfield, died Jan. 4, 2000.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cochran Mortuary Chapel of Roses. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. in Highland Cemetery
at Winfield.
A memorial has been established with Grace United Methodist Church, 320 College, Winfield, KS 67156.

Mawdsley was born July 22, 1941, in Winfield, to Hugh B. and Luella M. (Reeve) Mawdsley.
Survivors include a brother, Ronald Mawdsley, Fort Dodge; and a sister, Elizabeth Blomgren, Wichita.
Aaron Shetlar
Aaron K. Shetlar, 36, of Jersey City, N.J., died Jan. 5, 2000, at his mother's home in Winfield.
Services were held Jan. 5 at Grace Episcopal Church. Burial will be held later in Burden Cemetery. Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
Shetlar was born Sept. 26, 1963, in Dodge City, to Harry L. and Sharon (Skinner) Shetlar. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1982, from Emporia State University in 1986 and from the University of Kansas in 1988 with a master's degree in Spanish literature.
Shetlar worked for Jenny Clarkson-St. Christopher's Agency in New York as a home finder for foster children.
Survivors include his partner, Bryon Hamilton, Jersey City, N.J.; his mother, Sharon Shetlar, Winfield; a brother, Robert Shetlar, Statesboro, Ga.; a sister, Shannon Ryan, Ayer's Cliff, Quebec, Canada; and his grandmother, Treva Skinner, Winfield.
Stella Zanardi
Stella Marie Zanardi, 91, of Winfield, died Jan. 4, 2000, at Good Samaritan Village in Winfield.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Zanardi was born Jan. 19, 1908, in Miller, Mo., to Thomas Wesley and Sarah Margaret (Muriel) Phillips. When she was seven years old, she moved to the Udall area and attended rural Cowley County schools and Douglass High School.
On Jan. 24, 1924, she married William Flower in Winfield. He died Jan. 29, 1980.
On Oct. 11, 1980, she married Joseph Zanardi in Winfield. He died Feb. 18, 1991.
Zanardi was a homemaker and worked at Boeing during World War II. She had worked with her husband at Flowers Service Station until retiring in 1963.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Flower, Winfield; a daughter, Arlene Martling, Arkansas City; three stepsons, Ernest Zanardi, Winfield, Joe Zanardi, Ponca City, and James Zanardi, Salina; a stepdaughter, Carlene Davis, Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Imelda Farmer
BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Marion Imelda Farmer, 59, died Jan. 5, 2000, at her home in Blue Springs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blue Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Buckner Hill Cemetary, Buckner, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Center at St. Mary's Hospital, 201 W. RD Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO 64014.
Farmer was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Buckner, to Christian and Marion Harra. She graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1958 and from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Mo., in 1962.
In 1964, she married Doug Farmer while employed by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
The couple moved to Worthington, Ohio, and lived there for 13 years. They owned and operated women's apparel shops there and in Arlington, Ohio.
The family moved to Blue Springs in 1977. In 1998, she was named Blue Springs Citizen of the Year and was also recognized by the Truman Heartland Foundation for her achievements.
Farmer worked as a volunteer and served as president of the hospital auxiliary before accepting the position of vice-chairperson of Carondolet Health Board of Directors at St. Mary's and St. Joseph's hospitals.
At the time of her death, she was senior vice president and a broker at J.D. Reece. She worked first for Coldwell Banker where she began as a sales associate, and then in 1992 she became a broker sales manager. She was also a certified instructor for Coldwell Banker University.
Farmer was a member of many civic and business organizations.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Farmer, Blue Springs; two sons, Christian Richard "Chris" Farmer, formerly of Winfield, now of Douglass, and Patrick Farmer, Blue Springs, a student at Southwestern College; and one grandson.
Stephen Herburger
OKLAHOMA CITY - Stephen D. Herburger II, son of Steve and Hiedie Herberger of Oklahoma City, was born and died Jan. 2, 2000.
Services were held Jan. 4 in Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.
Survivors besides his parents include a sister, Sara; and his grandparents, Kipper and Linda Herburger, Wichita, formerly of Winfield, and Jeff and Carol Barr of Oklahoma City.

Services for Harry L. Shetlar Jr., 68, who died Jan. 1, 2000, and his son, Aaron Shetlar, 36, who died Jan. 5, were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Peter Oesterlin and Deacon Tom Herlocker officiated. Burial was in Burden Cemetery.
Dr. James Strand was the organist, Jim Banks played the bagpipes and Judith Connors was the flutist.
Casket bearers were Mike Shetlar, Gerald Wise and Jason, Chad, Jerol and Wade Skinner.
Memorials have been established with Southwestern College, Grace Episcopal Church and the American Cancer Society.
