Beverly Schroeder
ARKANSAS CITY - Beverly J. Schroeder, 68, of Arkansas City, died Feb. 28, 1999, at her residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with Hospice Inc., Redeemer Lutheran Church and the auxiliary of Spencer-Ralston Post 1254 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Schroeder was born March 28, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan., to G. Albert and Leona Agnes (Dodwell) Singleton. She moved with her family to Greenfield, Mo., when she was six. She was raised and educated in Greenfield.
In August 1948 she married William Casey. On Aug, 9, 1954, she married Lloyd Shelton in Bartlesville, Okla. On Dec. 23, 1954, she married Leroy May.
On Oct. 19, 1976, she married Earl Schroeder in Wichita. They moved to Arkansas City in 1977. He died Dec. 5, 1988.
Schroeder worked at Winfield State Hospital and Training Center from 1962 to 1978. From 1978 to 1983 she operated Beverly's Ceramics. From 1982 to 1987 she worked as a nurse's aide at Presbyterian Manor.
She then attended the Pioneer Vo-tech School in Ponca City, Okla., and graduated as a licensed practical nurse in 1987. She continued to work in the Presbyterian Health Care Unit until her retirement in 1997.
She attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a member of the Spencer-Ralston Post 1254 Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Shelton and Ralph May, both of Winfield; four daughters, Jean Rickords, Copan, Okla., Sherry Gardner, Winfield, Kristy Crites, Evergreen, Colo., and Ginger Triplett, Winfield; a brother, Gordon Singleton, Lockwood, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
David Sellers
David E. Sellers, 54, of Route 4, Winfield, died Feb. 27, 1999, at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miles Funeral Service. A private burial will be held at Tisdale Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Sellers was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Winfield, to Eugene G. and Marjorie M. (Benjamin) Sellers. Raised and educated in the Winfield area, he graduated from Winfield High School in 1963. Following graduation, he was employed for a time with Cessna Aircraft Co. in Wichita.
In 1965 he married Donna Wilson. They later divorced.
In 1966 he began employment with General Electric Co. at Strother Field. He retired in 1998 due to failing health, after 32 years of service.
A lifelong Winfield resident, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and was affiliated with the Kansas and Oklahoma Steam and Gas Engine Association. He had been a rodeo participant as a young man.
Survivors include three daughters, Terri Mayo, Winfield, Connie Hersh, Wellington, and Jami Runyan, Wichita; his parents, Gene and Marjorie Sellers, Winfield; two sisters, Catherine McNutt, Oolagah, Okla., and Debra Butters, Winfield; and six grandchildren.
Louisa Snyder
CARMEL, Calif. - Louisa Griffith "Lou" Snyder, 91, homemaker, of Carmel, Calif., formerly of Winfield, died Feb. 25, 1999, at the Carmel Valley Manor in Carmel, Calif.
No services will be held. Cremation will be at the Little Chapel By-the-Sea. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery
in Winfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the H.L. Snyder Memorial Research Foundation, 1407 Wheat Road, Winfield, KS 67156.
The Paul Mortuary, Pacific Grove, Calif., has charge of arrangements.
Snyder was born Jan. 23, 1908, in Pleasanton, Calif., to Charles and Adelaide Griffith. She was raised in the San Francisco Bay area.
Before her marriage to Dr. Cecil Dawson Snyder, she volunteered in hospitals in the San Francisco Bay area, and after her marriage, she volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital and William Newton Memorial Hospital, both in Winfield. She was deeply committed to the H.L. Snyder Memorial Research Foundation.
After her husband's death, she returned to California and became involved with Hospice Care.
Survivors include three children, James D. Snyder, Houston, Texas, Cecil John Snyder, Aptos, Calif., and Jean Snyder Garschagen, Kenilworth, Ill.; two brothers, James Griffith, San Rafael, Calif., and Edward Griffith, San Francisco; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Dora Wallace
DERBY - Dora Dean Wallace, 78, homemaker, of Derby, died Feb. 27, 1999, at her residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Mortuary. Burial will be in El Paso Cemetery
in Derby.
Friends may call at the mortuary until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
A memorial has been established with Calvary Baptist Church.
Wallace was born June 5, 1920, in Salina, Okla., to Ermon Quincy and Stella (Poteete) Patton.
Survivors include her husband, Jack M. Wallace, Derby; two sons, Lorion Wallace, Burden, and Jack Wallace Jr., Scandia; three daughters, Betty Jo Clark, Mulvane, Janice Hinos, Orlando, Fla., and Loretta Phipps, Rose Hill; a brother, Willie Patton, Ulysses; four sisters, Emma Brookshire, Ulysses, Nancy Jo Brown, Liberty, Ind., and Susie Buford, Pryor, Okla., and Erma Jean Torgensen, Oxnard, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Virginia Uhls
PAWHUSKA, Okla. - Virginia F. Uhls, 81, of Pawhuska, Okla., died Feb. 28, 1999, at Cedar Vale Regional Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. March 4, 1999, at the Elgin United Methodist Church. Burial will be in DeBusk Cemetery
in Elgin.
A memorial has been established with the Elgin United Methodist Church.

Uhls was born Jan. 18, 1918, in a log cabin at Buck Creek, Okla., to Arthur Clair and Tillie Richardson. When she was two years old, her mother died and her father married Ethel Jane Hines who raised her. She attended Elgin schools.
On Oct. 21, 1937, she married George Uhls in Sedan.
She was a member of the Elgin United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women's Club and the extension home unit.
Survivors include her husband, George Uhls, Pawhuska, Okla.; two sons, Jimmie Uhls, Elgin, and Bill Uhls, Pawhuska; two brothers, Don Slaughter, Belleville, and Junior Slaughter, Cedar Vale; a sister, Florence Burns, Sedan; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Dale Seaman
CEDAR VALE - Dale F. Seaman, 86, of Cedar Vale, died March 1, 1999, at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wheeler Funeral Home in Cedar Vale. The Rev. Vern Wilkinson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Vale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Seaman was born Sept. 7, 1912, in Cedar Vale, to Frank Edward and Olive (Sollers) Seaman. He graduated from Cedar Vale High School.
On Jan. 2, 1934, he married Cora Fern Metheny in Pawhuska, Okla. They lived and farmed together in Cedar Vale throughout their marriage. She died Sept. 5, 1981.
Survivors include a son, Doyle Seaman, Mulvane; a daughter, Nadine Wall, Sedan; a sister, Doris Moore, Hutchinson; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Stuart Mossman
Stuart Lynn Mossman, 56, of Winfield, died of a massive heart attack on March 2, 1999, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mossman was born May 13, 1942, in Hinsdale, Ill. He attended school in Dallas and graduated from high school in Great Neck, N.Y. He attended Albion College and received his degree from Southwestern College. He served as a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist.
On Dec. 23, 1964, he married Kendra Ann Frost.
Mossman had resided in Winfield for many years and served as founder and president of S.L. Mossman Fine Guitars. In 1981 Frets Magazine Readers Poll Awards rated Mossman the No. 1 luthier of the year. The company produced guitars which were sold in the United States and Europe. Some were played by well-known musicians. The company was sold and moved to Texas where the guitars are still being made.
Mossman was a founder of the Walnut Valley Festival and was in two films, "Long Riders" and "Cloud Dancer." More recently, Mossman had been performing in public and private schools in the Midwest and Southwest in cooperation with KFDI in Wichita. His program included stories and songs of the Midwest and re-creations of "Mark Twain on Tour."
Survivors include his daughters, Laura Anne Mossman, Baltimore, Md., and Rebecca Lynn Mossman Risinger, Tecumseh, Mich.; his parents, Hobart Foster and Betty Lynn Mossman, Bella Vista, Ark.; a sister, Martha M. Smither, Dallas; and one grandchild.
Thelma Williamson-Keck
DOUGLASS - Thelma Grace Williamson-Keck, 91, of Douglass, died March 1, 1999, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Joseph Campus in Wichita.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Stalter Cemetery
east of Rock.
Friends may call at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home until 8 tonight.
A memorial has been established with the American Breast Cancer Research Center.
Williamson-Keck was born May 31, 1907, in Canton, to Guster LaVern and Gustie Grace (Windler) Bair. She graduated from Canton High School.
On Oct. 31, 1939, she married Arlie Williamson in McPherson County. He died Oct. 2, 1962. She married Hermit C. Keck June 10, 1965, in Miami, Okla. He died Feb. 2, 1976.
Williamson-Keck had worked as a nurse's aide and cook at the Edgetown Manor in Winfield. She was a past member of the Royal Neighbors.
A son, Arlie "Butch" Williamson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, J.D. Williamson, and a daughter, Arlene Lanier, both of Douglass; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Elmo Rosenburg
DEXTER - Services for Elmo B. Rosenburg, 75, who died Feb. 26, 1999, were held at 2 p.m. March 2 in Dexter Cemetery. The Rev. Norman Reeves officiated.
Special vocal music was "The Old Rugged Cross," "Peace in the Valley" and "If You Came Back from Heaven."
Spencer Ralston Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Arkansas City performed military graveside ceremonies.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
