Michael Robinson
VICKSBURG, Miss. - Michael C. Robinson, 55, of Vicksburg, died Nov. 29, 1998, in Vicksburg.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Maud Cemetery
at Cunningham. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Livingston Funeral Home in Kingman.

Robinson was born Oct. 28, 1943, at Kingman, to Robert and Margie (Stanley) Robinson. He earned his bachelor's degree from Southwestern College, his master's degree from Wichita State University and his doctorate from the University of Wyoming.
In 1975 he married Diane Armstrong in Salt Lake City.
A resident of Vicksburg since 1981, he was the first historian of the Mississippi River Commission/Lower Mississippi Valley Division and served in that capacity until he was appointed chief of public affairs in 1994.
He had written extensively on civil engineering and environmental history. His major works include "History of Public Works in the United States, 1776-1976," "Water for the West: the Bureau of Reclamation, 1902-1977," "The Mississippi River Commission: An American Epic," and "Gunboats, Low Water and Yankee Ingenuity: A History of Bailey's Dam."
He had received the Heritage Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers for his contributions to the history of public works and civil engineering. Most recently, he completed the course of instruction at the U.S. Army War College.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Robinson had been bishop of the Vicksburg Ward for seven and a half years. He also served as a member of the church's Jackson Stake council from 1993 to 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Robinson, Vicksburg; two sons, Sean Robinson, Salt Lake City, and Sam Robinson, Vicksburg; three daughters, Gwendolyn Robinson, Meghan Robinson and Kathryn Robinson, all of Vicksburg; his parents, Robert and Margie Robinson, Wichita; two brothers, John Robinson, Kansas City, Kan., and Tim Robinson, Saint Paul, Minn.; and a sister, Gail Griffith, North Newton.

Bouaphone Phrakornkham, 30, of 705 E. 15th, Winfield, died Nov. 30, 1998, in Kansas City, Kan.
Services will be held at noon Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Winfield. The Rev. Warren Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Phrakornkham was born April 3, 1968, in Laos, to Bouaphinh and Mai Phrakornkham. He graduated from Santiago High School in Santa Ana, Calif., in 1987 and from the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Mo., in 1992.
Phrakornkham was working in Kansas City in construction and painting.
Survivors include his parents, Bouaphinh and Mai Phrakornkham, Winfield; three brothers, Bouapane Phrakornkham and Viangsone Phrakornkham, both of Winfield, and Souksavanh Phrakornkham, Lawrence; a sister, Thoummy Phrakornkham, Lawrence; and his grandparents, Pha and Tham Phakonkhan, Winfield.
