Harold L. Warner 1918 - 2004
Harold L. Warner, 85, of Great Bend, died Sept. 9 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. He was born Dec. 20, 1918, at Pawnee Rock, the son of Harold Louis and Flossie Barrows Warner. He married Beth McNutt and later married Esther Seiker. She died April 1, 1990. A resident of Great Bend since 2000, coming from Hugoton, he was a barber retiring after more than 55 years.
Warner was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Hugoton and Kansas Barbers Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Bartholomew of Great Bend; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Forward of Moscow and Martha Lee Maupin of Ulysses; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Beatrice Peterson; two brothers, Lathe and Bill Warner; and one sister, Ruby Klasson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morell Funeral Home in Larned with the Rev. Gary Dassow officiating. Burial will be at Pawnee Rock Cemetery. Friends may call until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church or Our Savior Lutheran Church, both in care of the funeral home.

JUDITH A. FARROW
Judith A. Farrow, 61, Ottawa, died Sunday at St. Lukes Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home. She was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Henry and Lily (Hupton) Castings. She grew up in and graduated from East High School, Des Moines, in 1958. She earned an associate of arts degree at Graceland College in 1961, and graduated with a nursing degree from Independence Sanitarium and Hospital Independence, Mo., in 1963. She married Bill Farrow in Des Moines on April 16, 1964. He survives of the home. She lived in Rapid City, S.D., from 1964 to 1965, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., until 1967, San Clemente, Calif., 1967 to 1969, moving to Independence, Mo. In 1980 she moved to Ottawa. She worked at Crestview Nursing Home from 1980 to 1985, and Del Mar Gardens to 1988. In 1989, she went to work for Ransom Memorial Hospital as a RN supervisor. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, Wellsville, where she was the former church organist, RLDS Professional Nursing Association and the American Nursing Society. She was a former member of the Skilton Club, Independence Messiah Choir, Camp Fire Leader, and nursing instructor at Neosho County Community College. She is also survived by her mother, Lily Castings, Laverne, Calif.; a daughter, Shannon Dyche, Ottawa; a brother, Bill Castings, Des Moines; two sisters, Pat Oliver, Ridgecrest, Calif., and Jane Dyer, West Covina, Calif.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Hein, Marge Castings and Vivian Sheehy; and a brother Gaylord Castings. Family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A private family inurnment will be later in the Ganzer Family Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to Ottawa University Music Department.

Eddie M. Russell 1940 - 2004
Eddie M. Russell, 64, died Sept. 4 at his home in Great Bend. He was born Feb. 1, 1940, at Larned, the son of Edward and Elsie McKinney Russell. A Great Bend resident for 15 years, coming from California, he had worked for a gas power company in California and was retired.
Russell was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Survivors include his mother, Elsie Hill, of Great Bend; a son, Wade Russell, Laverne, Calif.; a daughter, Erin LeBlanc, Alta Loma, Calif.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Russell, and a sister, Doris Tutak.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Cancer Center or the High Rise, both in Great Bend.

Randall “Randy” Funk 1959 - 2004
GALATIA — Randall “Randy” Funk, 45, died Sept. 6 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. He was born June 1, 1959, at Great Bend, the son of Edwin Jr. and Wanda Hoebek Funk. He married Berneice Fehrehbach on June 7, 1987, at Galatia. A lifetime Galatia resident, he was self-employed as a farmer and trapper.
Funk was a member of License Plate Club and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife of the home; parents of Galatia; a son, Bob Funk, Galatia; a step-son, Mike Guertin, Galatia; a step-daughter, Christine Marshall, Wellington; a brother, Doug Funk, Salina; and two step-grandchildren, Blaze Marshall and Alexis Marshall.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Private family Inurnment will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the University of Nebraska Athletic Department.

Mary Marie Stafford 1927 - 2004
WICHITA — Mary Marie (Lee) Stafford, 75, died Sept. 7. She was born Sept. 27, 1928. A former resident of Hoisington, Great Bend and Russell, she was a retired St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Registered Nurse and former Wesley employee in Wichita.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Hutchinson, Colorado Springs, Colo., EvaLynn Richmond, Gales Ferry, Conn., and Nancy Jensen, Wichita; a brother, Jerrold Lee, Wichita; a sister, Frances Hesselius, Littleton, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East in Wichita. Memorials have been established with Rainbows United, 340 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202-9669, and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202-3805.

Alice Boyd 1934-2004
Alice Boyd, 70, of Great Bend, died Sept. 4 at Memorial Hospital in McPherson. She was born March 4, 1934, at El Dorado, the daughter of Manuel C. and Freda Romero Sepulveda. She attended Lyons High School. She married Marvin Dale Boyd in 1951 in New Mexico. He preceded her in death. She moved to McPherson in 2004 from Great Bend where she lived since 1952, coming from Lyons. She was a waitress, was hostess for Holiday Inn and Petroleum Club, both of Great Bend, owned and operated Boyds Decorating in Great Bend, retiring in 1992, and worked part-time at the Lyons Museum.
Mrs. Boyd was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Marvin A. Boyd of McPherson; her mother of McPherson; one brother, Richard Sepulveda of Oceanside, Calif.; one sister, Gertrude Terrones of El Dorado; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Gomez.
Rosary will be at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church of McPherson. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Oborny officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association of Kansas, in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home of McPherson.

Albert Lubben 1912-2004
Albert Lubben, 91, of Great Bend, died Sept. 4 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. He was born Nov. 30, 1912, in Carleton, Neb., the son of Arthur and Anna Rippe Lubben. A resident of Great Bend, coming from Fairbury, Neb., he was a farmer.
Lubben was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1942-43.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlys and Stan Behrends of Great Bend, and Debra and John Fee of Springfield, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Adam, Brett and Cody Behrends and Paul and Anna Fee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Lubben; an infant son; his parents; one brother, Walter Lubben; and one sister, Ella.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Fairbury, with the Rev. Richard Larson officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran cemetery in Bruning, Neb. Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church, in care of Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home of Fairbury.

Ruby E. Gray 1915-2004
Ruby E. Gray, 88, of Great Bend, died Sept. 4 at Manor Care of Wichita. She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Alden, the daughter of Arthur Earl and Pearl Caroline Caldwell Estabrook. A resident of Great Bend since 1942, coming from Lyons, she was a department manager for Sears-Roebuck, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie D. Meyeres of Tonnopah, Ariz., and Betty C. Harris of Wichita; one sister, Betty Lewis of Great Bend; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lula Herbert.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Great Bend Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Brooks officiating. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of the funeral home.

Jerome P. Habiger 1914-2004
BUSHTON — Jerome P. Habiger, 90, died Sept. 5 at Ellinwood District Hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1914, at Bushton, the son of Joseph and Katherine Doll Habiger. He was a graduate of Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. He married Anna Lee Thill March 30, 1948, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Bushton, he was a farmer.
Habiger was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church of Bushton, Knights of Columbus No. 1187 of Ellinwood and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Lyons. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II in the European Theater.
Survivors include his wife of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Norman J. and Myra Habiger, and Wayne M. and Karen Habiger, all of Bushton; daughters and son-in-law, Diane Ingels of Topeka, Jane Habiger of Bushton, and Mary Beth and Lee Bonnewell of Andover; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Habiger and Victor Habiger; and three sisters, Viola Dohrman, Delores Miller and Lucille Miller.
Rosary will be at 3 p.m. today at Kimple Funeral Chapel in Ellinwood. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. today followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary, both at Holy Name Church near Bushton. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church at Bushton, with Fathers Steve Scheier and James J. Roth officiating. Burial will be at Holy Name cemetery at Bushton. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Bushton First Responders or Holy Name cemetery Fund, both in care of the funeral home.

Georgette Louise Hagen 1942-2004
ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Georgette Louise Hagen, 62, died Sept. 5 at Emmaus Home in St. Charles. She was born Jan. 29, 1942, at Great Bend, the daughter of George L. and Carrie Back Hagen. She was a resident of Emmaus Home at Luhr House of St. Charles for more than 30 years, coming from Ellinwood.
She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ of Ellinwood.
Survivors include cousins.
Private service will be held at Lakin-Comanche District cemetery in Ellinwood, with the Rev. Larry Young officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Emmaus Homes or Immanuel United Church of Christ, both in care of Kimple Funeral Home of Ellinwood.
