Georgia M. Kogler 1910-2001
SALINA - Georgia M. Houska Kogler, 91, died Dec. 6. She was born Feb. 22,
1910, in Claflin. She married
Elmer C. Jordan. He died in 1946. She then
married Kenneth Kogler. He died in 1988. A resident of Salina, coming from
Gypsum, she was a retired owner and operator of Kogler Cafe and Service
Station in Gypsum.
Survivors include two sons, Robert A. Jordan Sr. and Cliff Jordan, both of
Great Bend; one daughter, Lois Nichols of Salina; 11 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by one daughter, Mae Ecton; and one grandson, Randall Alan Jordan.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Claflin cemetery in
Claflin. Friends may call until 8 tonight at Ryan Mortuary in Salina.
Family will receive friends from 6-7 tonight at the mortuary. Memorials are
suggested to Georgia Kogler Family Memorial, in care of the mortuary.

Roger L. Steinert 1947-2001
DORRANCE - Roger L. Steinert, 54, died Dec. 5 at Via Christi Regional
Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. He was born June 25, 1947,
the son of Alex F. and Rosa Templing Steinert. He married
Doris Webster in
1987 in Great Bend. A resident of Dorrance, coming from Russell, Great Bend
and Wilson, he was a welder.
Survivors include his wife of the home; and one brother, Al Steinert of
Wilson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Foster Mortuary Chapel in Wilson.
Burial will be at Dorrance City Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8
p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday, all at the
mortuary. There are no memorials suggested.

Joan D. Keener 1933-2001
Joan D. Keener, 68, of Great Bend, died Dec. 5 at Central Kansas Medical
Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend. Survivors and funeral arrangements
will be announced by Bryant-Christians Funeral Home in Great Bend.

Constance 'Connie A. Walker 1935-2001
LA CROSSE - Constance 'Connie' A. Walker, 66, died Dec. 4 at her home in La
Crosse. She was born March 27, 1935, in Cripple Creek, Colo. the daughter of
William F. and Nellie McGee Conrad. A resident of La Crosse, she worked as
a courtesy clerk for Dillon's.
Survivors include one son, William D. Walker of La Crosse; one daughter,
Jacqueline Stroud-Hull of Wichita; her mother; one sister, Sally Creamer of
Sherman, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Marie Stroud; and one brother,
Robert L. Conrad.
Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Janousek Funeral Home Chapel
in La Crosse, with the Rev. Anthony Dominguez officiating. There is no
visitation. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, in
care of the funeral home.

Sybil Arlene Thomason 1923-2001
LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Sybil Arlene Thomason, 78, died Nov. 30 at her residence
in Lakewood. She was born Feb. 13, 1923, in St. John, the daughter of Leslie
and Helen G. Tucker Hahn. A resident of Lakewood, coming from Great Bend and
Wichita, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Norman Thomason of Wichita; six brothers, Robert
Hahn of Fairhaven, Mass., James Hahn, Leonard Hahn and John Hahn, all of
Denver, Colo., Phil Hahn of Steamboat Springs, Colo. and Stanley Hahn of
Valparaiso, Ind.; two sisters, Wanda Houghton of Brush, Colo. and Ruth
Johnson of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel in Wichita.
Friends may call from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. There are no
memorials suggested.

Thomas Fletcher Stevenson 1910-2001
LEWISTON, Colo. - Thomas Fletcher Stevenson, 91, died Nov. 28 at Royal Plaza
Retirement Center in Lewiston. He was born Jan. 24, 1910, in Itasca, Texas,
the son of Thomas W. and Leslie Caldwell Stevenson. He graduated from Frost
High School in Frost, Texas. He married
Mildred Elizabeth Goodman Dec. 25,
1942. A resident of Lewiston, coming from Great Bend, he worked as a manager
for F.W. Woolworth Co.
Stevenson was a member of the United Methodist church, 50 year member of
American Legion, 65 year member of Kiwanis International, SCORE, Masons and
Methodist Men. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, John Stevenson of
Rockledge, Fla.; one daughter, Susan Mann of Lewiston; Mary Hill Stevenson
Warren of Frost and Louise Stevenson Bain of Mexia, Texas; four
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral has taken place. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist
Church in Hays, in care of the church.

Helen Pauline Hesher 1910-2001
PAWNEE ROCK - Helen Pauline Hesher, 91, died Nov. 30 at Integrated Health
Services of Great Bend. She was born July 26, 1910, in Morland, the daughter
of Peter and Katherin Klaus Brungardt. She married
Rollo Martin Hesher April
22, 1941, in Winfield. He died Nov. 22, 1946. A resident of Pawnee Rock
since 1961, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Peter.
Survivors include two daughters; one sister; four grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother; and two
sisters.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morell Funeral Home in Larned, with
the Rev. Warren Stecklein officiating. Burial will be at Gypsum cemetery in
Gypsum. Friends may call until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. until service time
Tuesday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer
Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Marieda V. Keenan 1919-2001
Marieda V. Keenan, 82, died Dec. 1 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St.
Rose Campus in Great Bend. She was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Larned, the
daughter of George N. and NeOma Woodward Gleason. She married
Ora Francis
Keenan June 7, 1941, in Kinsley. He died Oct. 17, 2001. A resident of Great
Bend for 26 years, coming from Seward, she worked as a medical secretary.
Mrs. Keenan was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Patrick Altar
Society and St. Francis Xavier Altar Society.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry L. Keenan of Ada, Okla., Don George
Keenan of St. John and Mark A. Keenan of Longwood, Fla.; two daughters, Mary
L. Elliott of Lewisville, Texas, and Anne Steinbacher of Great Bend; one
sister, LaVerne Green of St. John; 16 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lane F. Keenan
and Ray M. Keenan; one daughter, Debra J. Keenan; and one brother, Berle
Gleason.
Altar Society rosary will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant-Christians Funeral
Home in Great Bend. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Revs.
Warren Stecklein and Rene Guesnier officiating. Burial will be at St.
Francis Xavier cemetery in Seward. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier
Altar Society, in care of the funeral home.

Katherine Florence Bailey Evans 1914-2001
LEWIS - Katherine Florence Bailey Evans, 87, died Dec. 1 at Leisure
Homestead in Stafford. She was born Feb. 7, 1914, in Webb City, Mo., the
daughter of Frank and Blanche Isabel Lawson Bailey. She was a graduate of
Wilmar High School in Wilmar. She married
Lawrence Henry 'Billy' Evans July
8, 1933, in Wilmar. He died in 1988. A longtime resident of Lewis, she was a
homemaker.
Mrs Evans was a member of Christian Church and Farm Bureau, both of Lewis.
Survivors include one daughter, Wilma Louise Lightheart of Vienna, Va.; one
brother, Frank Bailey of Lewis; one sister, Mickey Neumann of Garden City;
four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Minnis Chapel in St. John, with the
Rev. Keith Schrum officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Park cemetery in
St. John. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral chapel. The
casket will remained closed at the funeral. Memorials are suggested to
American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral chapel.

Marjorie A. Alger Cromwell 1945-2001
BURLINGTON, Colo. - Marjorie A. Alger Cromwell, 55, died Nov. 27 at Hospice
of Metro Denver - City Park in Denver, Colo. She was born Dec. 4, 1945, in
Chanute, the daughter of Warren and Margaret Krueger Alger. She was a 1962
graduate of Chanute High School and a 1967 graduate of Pittsburg State
College. She married
Larry Cromwell June 10, 1967, in Chanute. A resident of
Burlington for 25 years, coming from Great Bend, she was an elementary
school teacher.
Mrs. Cromwell was a member of First Christian Church in Burlington.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Jon Cromwell of
Kanorado and Jared Cromwell of Fort Collins, Colo.; and two brothers, Howard
Alger and Kenneth Alger, both of Chanute. She was preceded in death by one
brother, Melvin Alger.
Funeral was Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Paul Barker officiating.
Burial was at Kanorado Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church, in
care of Koons Funeral Home in Goodland.
