JETMORE - Georgia M. Bamberger, 91, died June 2 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. She was born Jan. 4, 1910, in Bells, Texas, the daughter of R.V. and Etta Hawkins Wilson. She married
Martin Bamberger Nov. 26, 1945, in Winfield. He died Feb. 10, 1998. A resident of the Jetmore area, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Bamberger was a member of the Methodist Church of Bells. Survivors include one son, Jack Bamberger of Jetmore; one brother, Guy Wilson of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Ruby Strawn of Arlington, Texas, and Johnnie Mitchen of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Bamberger; four brothers, Hubert Wilson, Hershel Wilson, Robert Wilson and Chester Wilson; and three sisters, Bertha Clark, Carrie Scroggins and Pauline Wilson. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairmount cemetery in Jetmore with the Rev. Mitch Reece officiating. Dora Kasselman Wallet 1915-2001
LARNED - Dora Kasselman Wallet, 85, died June 2 at Larned Health Care and Living Center in Larned. She was born June 30, 1915, in Barton County, the daughter of Gordon and Bessie Morris Flanders. She married
Melvin C. Kasselman March 27, 1932, in Ellinwood. He died June 26, 1980. She married
Duane Wallet March 4, 1983, in Brawley, Calif. He died Sept. 4, 2000. A lifelong resident of Larned, she was a farm wife. Mrs. Wallet was a member of Larned United Methodist Church and the Zook Extension Homemakers Unit. Survivors include three sons, Harlan Kasselman of Leavenworth, Ralph Kasselman of Ponca City, Okla., and Max Kasselman of Andale; two daughters, Ruth Steffen and Linda Parr, both of Larned; one sister, Peggy Gore of Larned; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Kasselman; and three brothers, Earl Flanders, Ray Flanders and Clyde Flanders. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley cemetery in Zook. Orlie George Adolph 1919-2001
Orlie George Adolph, 81, of Great Bend, died June 3 at Integrated Health Services of Great Bend. He was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Wabaunsee County, the son of George Washington and Frieda Augusta Hasenbank Adolph. He married
Myrtle Pauline Peterson April 9, 1948, in Alma. She died July 3, 1979. A resident of Great Bend, coming from Manhattan, he was self employed in construction and remodeling. Adolph was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Church. Survivors include one son, Nathan Adolph of Great Bend; two daughters, Hjarda Cipra of Great Bend and Deborah Espinosa of Elk Falls; and five grandchildren. Family services will be private. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley cemetery near Manhattan. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood. June 4, 2001
B. Lucille Younkin 1918-2001
HAYS - B. Lucille Younkin, 82, died June 1 at Hays Medical Center,St. Anthony Campus in Hays. She was born Aug. 23, 1918, at Bode, Iowa, the daughter of J.P. and Tia Kinseth Jensen. She married
Chester "Chet" Younkin on Aug. 28, 1942, at Wichita. He died May 14, 1991. A resident of Hays for 30 years, coming from Great Bend, she was a bank teller. Mrs. Younkin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays. Survivors include two nieces, Marian Tocko of Strum, Wis., and Kathy Frondell of Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice Hauge and Woodrow Jensen; and one sister, Nioma Smith. Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. James Strasen officiating. Inurnment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. There will be no visitation. STERLING - Frances A. Amend, 80, died May 31 at Hutchinson Hospital in Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 11, 1920, at Sterling, the daughter of William A. and Anna B. Bieber Buxton. She was a 1939 graduate of Sterling High School and attended Sterling College. She married
W.L. "Les" Amend on Feb. 13, 1942 in San Luis Obispo, Calif. A lifelong resident of Sterling, she was a retired bookkeeper for Les Amend Chevrolet of Sterling. Mrs. Amend was a member of United Methodist Church and Wednesday Night Bridge Club, both of Sterling. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Richard Amend of Wichita; one daughter, Susie Unruh of Sterling; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. FT. MCCOY, Fla. - David Roy Andrews Sr., 41, died May 24 at Monroe Regional Medical Center. He was born in Niceville, Fla., in 1960. A resident of Ft. McCoy, coming from Great Bend 15 years ago, he was retired from Kmart as a stockman. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, David Andrews Jr. and Johnny Andrews, both of Ft. McCoy; his mother, Ellen Young of Loxley, Ala.; his father, John Andrews of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Rocky Andrews of Clinton, Ark., and Paul Young of Loxley; and one sister, Kelly Paul of Loxley. CONCORDIA - Vada C. Fick, 83, died May 29 at Exempla Lutheran Hospital in Wheatridge, Colo. She was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Republic County, the daughter of Eugene and Della Tate Fick. She married
Harold R. Fick on June 11, 1939, in Concordia. He died April 14, 1990. Mrs. Fick was a member of EUB Church, now the Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia, the United Methodist Church in Dodge City, Daughters of the American Revolution and a former member of Eastern Star. Survivors include one son, Richard Fick of Arvada, Colo.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ron Fick. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia with the Rev. Bill Eisele officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Concordia. Dolores Hanhardt May 25, 1944, in Albert. A lifelong resident of Albert, he was a farmer and stockman. Dirks was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Albert, serving as Sunday school superintendent and church council member, and school board, all in Albert, Pawnee Rock school board, Timken Co-op board, Clarence Township board, Barton County ASCS and Pawnee Rock Lions Club. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Gwen Strayer of Wichita and Marsha Moeder of Hutchinson; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester H. Dirks. SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Clarence H. Dirks died May 24 in San Antonio. He was born in Great Bend. He attended Pawnee Rock High School and Wichita State University. He married

Lavern Dirks. A resident of San Antonio, he was a dairyman. Dirks was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. His unit received the Presidential Unit Citation Badge. Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Judith Lair of Wichita; one brother, Delmer Dirks of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; one sister, Ellen Richter of Great Bend; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one brother. The funeral has taken place and he is buried at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery in San Antonio. ELLSWORTH, Co. - Fred R. Williams, 58, died July 18 at his home in Fircrest, Wash. He was born July 26, 1942, in Little River, the son of Lester Lyle and Rosalie McCutcheon Williams. He married
Susan Jensen Dec. 29, 1983, in Fircrest. A resident of Fircrest, coming from Ellsworth County, he was a retired from active service in the U. S. Air Force and an employee for the U.S. Civil Service as the manager of a flight simulator at McCord Air Force Base. Williams grew up attending Langley Methodist Church. He was a U.S. A. F. veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Bradley Williams of Kent, Wash.; one stepson; Kevin Jensen of San Francisco, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Erin Campbell of Fircrest; his parents of Marquette; one brother, Robert Williams of Little River; one stepbrother, Ronald Shriner of Azel, Texas; one granddaughter; and four step-grandchildren. Inurnment will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Langley Cemetery. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Larry Brock officiating. There will be no visitation. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Mark Fraser of Spring, Texas; three daughters, Terie Stapleton of Belpre, Cindy Smith of Longview, Wash., and Debbie Fertig of Larned; one sister, Leo Johnson of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Matthew Lewis of Farmington: two daughters, Stephanie Lewis and Kelly Fogo, both of Farmington; his stepmother, Theresa Lewis of Great Bend; four brothers, Leon Lewis and Ron Lewis, both of Wichita, Bubba Kite and Steve Kite, both of Great Bend; three sisters, Dorothy Niedens of Hoisington, Betty Baird of Pratt and Beverly Iliss of Hobart Okla.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene Neal. A private memorial service was held by the family. July 29, 2001

LA CROSSE - Madge C. Friend, 86, died July 26 at Lakewood, Colo. She was born Nov. 23, 1914, at Bison, the daughter of Edward and Rosa Lena Kaiser Sehnert. She was a graduate of Fort Hays State University. She married
Glenn A. Friend Nov. 16, 1935, in Bison. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1978. A lifelong resident of Bison until moving to Lakewood, she was an elementary teacher in the Otis-Bison school district for more than 35 years before her retirement in 1980. Mrs. Friend was a member of United Methodist Church in Bison, Fort Hays State University Alumnus, Order of the Eastern Star and United Methodist Women, and she was a Sunday School teacher. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Elanie Friend of Lakewood; three brothers, Eldon Sehnert of Brownwood, Texas, Dale Sehnert of Leesburg, Va., and Marvin Sehnert of New York City, N.Y.; one sister, Eileen McChristian of La Crosse. A resident of Plains, coming from La Crosse, he was a farmer. Robinson was a member of the National Rifle Association.
