Geneva Reinecke Brown 1910-2000
EMPORIA - Geneva Reinecke Brown, 90, died Oct. 10 at Sterling House Care
Center in Emporia. She was born May 8, 1910, in Heizer, the daughter of
William August and Lela Pearl Mittan Reinecke. She married
T. Clarence
Brown July 3, 1937, in Sterling. They divorced in 1977 and he died Feb. 13,
1997. A resident of Emporia since 1992, coming from Great Bend and Iola,
she was a teacher from 1928 until 1936, spending three years in rural
Barton County and five years in Great Bend. She then worked for Iola
Greeting Service and taught piano.
Mrs. Brown was a member of First United Methodist Church in Emporia, a
member of Jeremiah Howard Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution
in Great Bend, a former member of Iola Music Club and Garden Club in Iola
and former member of First United Methodist Church in Great Bend and Iola.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home
in Emporia with the Rev. Norton Ritter officiating. Graveside service will
be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to
Baker University Endowment Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Earl P. Krankenberg 1914-2000
ELLINWOOD - Earl P. Krankenberg, 85, died Oct. 9 at Central Kansas Medical
Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend.
Survivors and funeral arrangements will be announced by Kimple Funeral Home
in Ellinwood.

Myrtle Abbott French 1906-2000
ST. JOHN - Myrtle Abbott French, 94, died Oct. 7 at Stafford District
Hospital in Stafford. She was born Aug. 14, 1906, in Panola, Ky., the
daughter of Peter and Mattie Richardson. She was a 1947 graduate of Chicago
School of Nursing. She married
Ivan Groseclose Dec. 31, 1924, at
Hutchinson. He preceded her in death. She then married
G.E. "Chick" Abbott
Dec. 31, 1935, at Hutchinson. He preceded her in death. She then married
Alva French June 1, 1961, at St. John. He preceded her in death. A lifetime
resident of Stafford County, she was a licensed practical nurse at Stafford
District Hospital for 17 years.
Mrs. French was a member of First Baptist Church of St. John, Zenith United
Presbyterian Church and Stafford United Presbyterian Church, Mothers Club
and Meals on Wheels, both of St. John, and chairman of American Red Cross
Blood Drive at Stafford.
Survivors include one son, I. Leo Groseclose of Windsor, Mo.; one daughter,
Juliene Hoener of Flagstaff, Ariz.; five grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two
step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. She was
preceded in death by two brothers, Alson Richardson and Dillard Richardson;
and six sisters, Juanita Frede, Esther Ketchum, Minnie Kreie, Linnie Kray,
Hallie Pippenger and Mamie Walters.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of St. John with
the Rev. David A. Ford officiating. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Minnis Chapel Inc. of St. John.
Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral chapel.

Anna Marie Braun 1911-2000
WALKER - Anna Marie Braun, 89, died Oct. 8 at St. John's Rest Home in
Victoria. She was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Victoria, the daughter of Joseph
J. and Barbara Mermis Braun. She married
Anselm "Lefty" Braun June 16,
1930, at Victoria. He died April 27, 1984. A lifetime resident of Walker,
she was a homemaker and did sewing at her home as well as making the
vestments at St. Ann's Church.
Mrs. Braun was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and St. Ann's
Christian Mothers, both of Walker.
Survivors include one daughter, Flora Weigel of Great Bend; four
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
one son, Donald Braun; two daughters, Lorene Braun and Darlene Braun; seven
brothers, Andrew Braun, Joseph Braun, John Braun, Adam Braun, Daniel Braun,
George Braun and an infant; and four sisters, Catherine Linenberger,
Barbara Schmidtberger, Clara Korbe and an infant.
St. Ann's Christian Mothers rosary will be at 7 tonight followed by a vigil
service at 7:45 p.m., both at Cline's Mortuary in Victoria. Funeral will be
at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Frank X. Grinko officiating.
Burial will be at St. Ann's cemetery in Walker. Friends may call from 6-9
tonight and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at the mortuary. Memorials
are suggested to the church, in care of the mortuary.

Raymond 'Ray' Garcia 1927-2000
HUTCHINSON - Raymond "Ray" Garcia, 73, died Oct. 8 at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1927, at Hutchinson, the son of Jose and Guadalupe
Espinoza Garcia. He married
Micaela "Mickey" Curiel Nov. 25, 1949, in
Hutchinson. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he was a chef, employed at
Petroleum Club and Highland Manor, both of Great Bend, and former owner and
operator of Ray's Buffet in Sterling.
Garcia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in South
Hutchinson and Holy Name Society. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Victor Garcia, Greg
Garcia and Eugene Garcia, all of Hutchinson, and Brad Garcia of Great Bend;
two daughters, Cynthia Hernandez and Janet Delgado, both of Hutchinson;
three sisters, Nellie Maldonado and Rita Arnold, both of Hutchinson, and
Cora Garcia of El Paso, Texas; 21 grandchildren; and 22
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael
Garcia, Robert Garcia and Danny Garcia; and two sisters, Dorothy Graham and
Josephine Sallabedra.
Parish rosary will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson and Sons Memorial Chapel
in Hutchinson. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the
Rev. Ned Blick officiating. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park in
Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1-9 today and Tuesday at the funeral
home. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, in care of

Louisa Margaret Stairrett 1903-2000
DODGE CITY - Louisa Margaret Stairrett, 96, died Oct. 6 at Shalimar Rest
Home in Salina. She was born Dec. 15, 1903, at Hodgeman County, the
daughter of John B. and Ida Withley Frusher. She married
Leonard L.
Stairrett June 3, 1931, in Jetmore. He died Jan. 4, 1983. A longtime
resident of Hodgeman County, she was a teacher in Leoti, Jetmore, Dodge
City, Kansas City and Oakridge, Tenn.
Mrs. Stairrett was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa
Gamma, Phi Lambda Theta and Eastern Star, all of Dodge City, AAUW, and Ford
and Hodgeman Counties Historical Society.
Survivors include two sons, Clair Stairrett of Olympia, Wash., and Jack
Stairrett of Jetmore; two daughters, Sandra Stum of Towner, Colo., and
Barbara Dunn of Galatia; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Grace
Strachan; and one grandson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Paul Copeland
officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount cemetery in Jetmore. Friends may
call until 8 tonight and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home in
Jetmore. Memorials are suggested to Jetmore Emergency Medical Service, the
church or Towner Community Scholarship Fund, all in care of the funeral
home.

Olive McIntosh 1908-2000
HAYS - Olivia Margaret "Olive" McIntosh, 91, died Oct. 7 at her home in
Hays. She was born Oct. 29, 1908, at Victoria, the daughter of Alexander A.
and Barbara Sander Rupp. She married
Walter McIntosh June 3, 1929, at
Hyacinth. He died April 6, 1997. A resident of Hays, she was a homemaker
and farm wife.
Mrs. McIntosh was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of
Isabella, Altar Society Christian Mothers and charter member of Eagle's
Auxiliary, all of Hays.
Survivors include two sons, Charles O. McIntosh of Great Bend and Walter
Francis McIntosh of Larned; three daughters, Wilma Jean Berger of Great
Bend, Agnes Hammerschmidt of Hutchinson and Dorothy Ann Fross of Hays; two
brothers, Alex Rupp of Commerce City, Colo., and Alfred C. "Fritz" Rupp of
Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Chris Billinger of Hays; 14
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Al Rupp, Cellie Rupp, Elmer
Rupp and Wendelin "Blackie" Rupp; five sisters, Tillie Weltz, Georgine
Peters, Ella Peters, Mary Ellis and Alma Girard; and one grandson, William
Alan Korbe.
Altar Society Christian Mothers rosary will be at 4 today, Eagle's
Auxiliary rosary at 6 tonight, Daughters of Isabella rosary at 6:30 tonight
and a parish vigil at 7 tonight, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home
in Hays. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Revs.
Michael Suchnicki and Paulinus Karlin officiating. Burial will be at Mount

Doris R. Hildebrand 1912-2000
STAFFORD - Doris R. Hildebrand, 88, died Oct. 5 at Leisure Homestead in
Stafford. She was born June 30, 1912, in rural Stafford, the daughter of
Charles and Carrie Lichte Hildebrand. She was a 1930 graduate of Stafford
High School. A Stafford resident since 1997, coming from Hutchinson, she
was self employed doing home care for the elderly.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hutchinson and a Sunday school
teacher for the church and Calvary Baptist Church in Stafford. She was
active in both churches women's organizations and was a past member of the
Stafford Extension Homemakers Unit.
Survivors include one brother, Chester Hildebrand of Stafford; four
sisters, Elsie Hildebrand of Hutchinson, Irma Eisenhour of Tahlequah,
Okla., Leona Williamson of Hudson and Marjorie Hildebrand of Hutchinson.
She was presceded in death by one infant brother, Leonard Hildebrand; and
one sister, Laurabel Simpson.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Minnis Chapel in Stafford with the Rev.
Jim Autrey officiating. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery. Friends may
call from 1-8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to
both churches or Leisure Homestead, all in care of the funeral home.
