Wally Jenisch 1941-2000
Wally Jenisch, 59, died Oct. 30 at his home in Great Bend. He was born Aug.
29, 1941 in Great Bend, the son of Joseph F. and Kathryn T. Heinz Jenisch.
He married
Audrey Hoeme Miessler Oct. 26, 1993, in Great Bend. He was a
1959 graduate of Ellinwood High School and attended Hutch Junior College. A
resident of Great Bend since 1998, coming from Ellinwood, he was a a
retired road maintainer for the Comanche Township. He was a former employee
of Tret-O-Lite, Gordon Lab and Chem-Solv, all of Great Bend.
Jenisch was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ellinwood.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Jason Jenisch of Hays; one
daughter, Jamee Jensich of Merriam; two brothers, Danny Jenisch of
Billings, Mont., and Richard Jenisch of Sublette; two sisters, Luetta Mae
Jenisch of Great Bend and Jeanette Haak of Denver, Colo.; three stepsons,
Jeffrey Miessler of Fallon, Nev., Timothy Miessler and Ronald Miessler,
both of Great Bend; and four grandchildren.
Altar society rosary will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Kimple Funeral Home in
Ellinwood. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran
Church in Ellinwood with the Rev. Andy Keltner officiating. Burial will be
at Lakin-Comanche District cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may call from 1-8
p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt
Home Health and Hospice or to the donor's choice, in care of the funeral
home.

Donald Chester Kendall 1917-2000
HAVILAND - Donald Chester Kendall, 83, died Oct. 30 at the Kiowa County
Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born June 18, 1917, on a farm near
Haviland, the son of Chester A. and Ada Woodward Kendall. He was a graduate
of Haviland High School. He married
Inez Frances Cox Aug. 14, 1938, in
Hopewell. She died Dec. 17, 1994. A lifetime Haviland resident, he was a
farmer and worked for the American Soil Conservation Service office for
many years.
Kendall was a member of the Haviland Friends Church.
Survivors include one son, Ron Kendall of Haviland; one daughter, Donita
Barnett of Salem, Ore.; one brother, Dean Kendall of Haviland; two sisters,
Pauline Owens of Ellinwood and Jeannine Jones of Great Bend; five
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an
infant son, Donald Eugene Kendall; and two sisters, Beth Hillman and Wilma
Harmon.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Everett
Jantz officiating. Burial will be at the Haviland Cemetery. Friends may
call from 4-9 p.m. today at the Fleener Chapel in Greensburg. Memorials are
suggested to the church, Barclay College or Southwind Hospice, all in care
of the funeral home and Haviland State Bank.

Jessie Audry Stanley 1906-2000
Jessie Audry Stanley, 93, died Oct. 30 at the Cherry Village Nursing Home
in Great Bend. She was born Nov. 15, 1906, in Healy, the daughter of Edwin
Warren and Kathryn Harriet Short Funk. She married
W. C. Stanley June 14,
1925, at Pueblo, Colo. He died Oct. 19, 1972. A resident of Great Bend for
75 years, coming from Dighton, she was a farmer and stockman. She built and
operated motels in Great Bend, Liberal and Scott City.
Mrs. Stanley was a member of First United Methodist Church and United
Methodist Women, both in Great Bend. She was a fomer member of Bissell
Point Unit and Utopian Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Moore of Great Bend and Phyllis
Hutchinson of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five
great-great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; seven
stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by one sister, Esther Newton.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Dr. Kevin
Baxter officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may
call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home in
Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to Noah's Ark Pre-School or the Barton
County Fair Board, both in care of the funeral home.

Lenora Ferne Moeckel 1908-2000
SYLVIA - Lenora Ferne Moeckel, 92, died Oct. 28 at the Plaza West Health
Center in Topeka. She was born July 19, 1908, in Zenith, the daughter of
Clarence and Viola Christensen Mays. She was a 1926 graduate of Sylvia High
School. She married
Benjamin Moeckel in Zenith. He died Oct. 23, 1998. A
resident of Sylvia for 63 years, before moving to Topeka in 1990, she was a
homemaker.
Mrs. Moeckel was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Nazarene in
Sylvia.
Survivors include two sons, Bud Moeckel of Hays and Richard Moeckel of
Silver Lake; one daughter, Helen Hurst of Topeka; one sister, Verda Frisbie
of Stafford; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by one son, Donald Moeckel.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Hayes
Township cemetery in rural Sylvia. Friends may call from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday
at the Minnis Chapel in Stafford. Memorials are suggested to the church or
the Heart of American Hospice, both in care of the chapel.

Glenn D. Becker 1934-2000
McPHERSON - Glenn D. Becker, 66, died Oct. 29, at Halstead Hospital. He was
born July 28, 1934, in McPherson, the son of Pete T. and Lydia Unruh
Becker. He graduated from McPherson College in 1971. He married
Lee Ellen
Miller in 1954. He married
Linda Swank Bishop Sept. 10, 1984. A lifetime
resident of McPherson, he was retired from San-Ore Construction & Oil
Producer for Law Production, Inc.
Becker was a member of First Presbyterian Church of McPherson.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Becker of the home; two sons, Dirk Becker
of Great Bend and Dan Becker of San Francisco, Calif.; two stepsons, Dan
Bliss and Clifford Bliss, both of Sedgwick; three brothers, Walter Becker
of Pontiac, Mich., Norman Becker and Marion Becker, both of McPherson; one
sister, Hazel Becker of McPherson; and four grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by one son, Craig Becker in 1978; and three sisters, Deloris
Becker, Gladys Koehn and Sadie Draper.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. J. David
Worthen officiating. Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery. Friends may
call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6-8 p.m., at
Stockman Family Funeral Home in McPherson. Memorials are suggested to the
American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice, in care of the
funeral home.

Clara A. Reif 1910-2000
OSBORNE - Clara A. Polzin Reif, 90, died Oct. 27
at Osborne County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 3, 1910, in Barton
County. She married
Alfred Reif. He died Jan. 5, 1994. A resident of Osborne
since 1948, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Reif was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society
and Golden Years Club, all of Osborne.
Survivors include six sons, Edgar Reif of Pratt, Charles Reif of Plainville,
Robert Reif of Apple Valley, Calif., Alfred Reif Jr. and Vic Reif, both of
Osborne, and Art Reif of Hoisington; five daughters, Alice Snyder of
Oologah, Okla., Betty Yarnell of Osborne, Inez K. Vohs of Great Bend, Jean
Wrench of Manhattan and Theresa Boxum of Lebanon; two brothers, Matt Polzin
and Joe Polzin, both of Hoisington; three sisters, Mary Robl of Ellinwood,
Lucille Weber of Wilson and Marge Haberman of Great Bend; 32 grandchildren;
46 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Roger Hough officiating. Burial will be
at St. Aloysius Catholic cemetery in Osborne. Friends may call from 2-8
tonight and from 2-4:30 p.m. Monday at Clark-Gashaw Chapel in Osborne and
from 4:30-8 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Carnegie
Library Restoration Project in Osborne, in care of the mortuary.

Roy Merle McCoskey 1937-2000
Roy Merle McCoskey, 63, of Great Bend died Oct. 26 at Via Christi-St.
Francis Medical Center in Wichita. He was born May 22, 1937, near Severy,
the son of Roy Marion and Sophia Jeanette Robert McCoskey. He was a 1957
graduate of Wichita East High School. He married
Joan J. Stermer in December
1959 in Wichita. They are divorced. A resident of Great Bend since 1984,
coming from Ellinwood, he worked for Kiddy Land in Wichita from 1954-57, for
Being in Wichita for 13 years, at the Ellinwood Power Plant beginning in
1970, and was a machinist and supervisor for Great Bend Industries for many
years.
McCoskey was a member of First Baptist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Roy Mark McCoskey of Great Bend; one daughter,
Shelly Lynn McCoskey of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Melvin McCoskey of
Eureka, Harry McCoskey of Kansas City, Mo., and John McCoskey of Sedgwick;
four sisters, Mildred Johnson and Thelma Allen, both of Wichita, Nadine
Cranmer of Wauconda, Ill., and Cora Sumner of Independence; five
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hew as preceded in death by one
infant brother, Harold McCoskey.
Funeral was Saturday at Campbell-Kelly Funeral home in Eureka with the Rev.
Alan Hunter officiating. Interment was at Twin Grove cemetery in Severy.
Memorials are suggested to the Central Kansas Medical Center, Dialysis Unit
in Great Bend, in care of the funeral home.

Bill H. Button 1936-2000
Bill H. Button, 63, of Great Bend died Oct. 27 at Via Christi-St. Francis
Medical Center in Wichita. He was born Nov. 21, 1936, at Great Bend, the son
of Dee E. and Grace B. Dorfshafer Button. He married
Mary Lou Boor Nov. 4,
1961, in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a farmer.
Button was a member of lake Barton Golf club, Eagles Lodge, president of
Alfalfa Pellets Inc., all of Great Bend, and a lifetime member of National
Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Dana M. Wilson of
Enid, Okla.; two brothers, Robert E. Button and Charles S. Button, both of
Great Bend; and one grandson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant-Christians Chapel in Great Bend,
with the Rev. Colin Boor officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend
Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 tonight, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 9
a.m. until service time Tuesday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are
suggested to American Heart Association or St. Rose School Endowment Fund,
both in care of the funeral home.
