Charlene E. Aggson 1929-2000
LARNED - Charlene E. Aggson, 71, died May 3 at her residence in Larned. She
was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Great Bend, the daughter of Charles and Esther
Almquist Seeman. She married
Dareld Leland "Babe" Aggson Oct. 26, 1947, at
Larned. He died March 23, 1985. A lifetime resident of Larned, she was the
owner of Aggson Jewelers.
Mrs. Aggson was a member of United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign
Wars, Larned Country Club and the Chamber of Commerce, all of Larned.
Survivors include one son, Dave Aggson of Concordia; one daughter, Kaye
Boor of Sterling; one sister, Frances Keane of Walnut, Calif.; eight
grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today at the Larned cemetery with the
Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Friends may call until service time today
at Beckwith Mortuary. The casket will remain closed. Memorials are
suggested to the Larned Emergency Medical Service, in care of the funeral
home.

Leona I. Hogg 1905-2000
MINNEAPOLIS - Leona I. Hogg, 94, died May 3 at the Minneapolis Good
Samaritan Center in Minneapolis. She was born Aug. 8, 1905, in a rural area
east of Minneapolis. She married
Wilbur M. Hogg Sr. He died in 1969. A
lifetime resident of the Minneapolis area, she was a homemaker who played
with the Marvin Prochaska Band for 32 years and gave piano lessons for
seven years.
Mrs. Hogg was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist
Women, and a charter member of the Jolly Janes Club, Business and
Professional Women, Friendly Folks at the Golden Wheel Senior Center, all
of Minneapolis, and AARP. She also served as a volunteer at the Minneapolis
Good Samaritan Center for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Wilbur M. Hogg Jr. of Salina, Donald E. Hogg
of Wichita and Rodney R. Hogg of Scott City; one daughter, Linda L. Carson
of Minneapolis; one niece whom she raised, Janice Mathews of Salina; eight
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
one infant son, Edwin L. Hogg.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Gene
Langhofer officiating. Burial will be at the Highland cemetery in
Minneapolis. The casket will remain closed. Friends may call until 8 this
evening at the Shields Funeral home in Minneapolis. Memorials are suggested
to the church, in care of the funeral home.

Gary Allen Wagner 1976-2000
HUTCHINSON - Gary Allen Wagner, 23, died May 3 at Central Kansas Medical
Center, St. Rose Campus, in Great Bend. He was born Aug. 24, 1976, at Great
Bend, the son of Dwayne and Romona Horner Wagner. A resident of Hutchinson,
coming from Great Bend, he was an employee of the Republic Paper Board
Company in Hutchinson.
Wagner was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Dwayne and Brenda Wagner of
Great Bend; mother, Romona Newsome of Great Bend; one sister, Michelle
Wagner of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one half-brother, Michael Jon Newsome,
of Great Bend; grandparents, Paul and Mary Wagner of Ellis;
step-grandfather, Karl A. Wenzel of Newton; step-grandmother, Arlene
Newsome of Great Bend; and step-great-grandmother, Gracie Kitchen of Lyons.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Travis
Dumond officiating. Burial will be at Salem United Methodist cemetery in
Bushton. Friends may call until 9 tonight at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home
in Great Bend and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Gary Wagner Memorial Fund, in care of the
funeral home.

Wanda Stos, 65, died May 4 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose
Campus, in Great Bend. Survivors and funeral arrangements will be announced

Marie Arlene Spece 1923-2000
Marie Arlene Spece, 76, died May 2 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St.
Rose Campus in Great Bend. She was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Ellinwood, the
daughter of Peter and Hannah Hinrichs Scheufler. She married
Milton E.
Spece Feb. 16, 1947, in Great Bend. He died Nov. 28, 1987. A lifetime
resident of Barton County, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Spece was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a former Sunday school
teacher and a volunteer at Central Kansas Medical Center, all in Great Bend.
Survivors include two sons, Sam Spece and Bill Spece, both of Great Bend;
and one brother, Kenneth Scheufler of Ellinwood.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Dr. Gary
W. Teske officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may
call until 9 tonight at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m.
to service time Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Trinity
Lutheran Church The Ladies Fellowship, in care of the funeral home.

Dean E. Kraisinger, 74, died May 2 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center,

Elizabeth Giskie Foos 1904-2000
OVERLAND PARK - Elizabeth Giskie Foos, 95, died April 30 at Indian Meadows
Nursing Home in Overland Park. She was born June 17, 1904, in Merkel,
Russia, the daughter of Henry P. and Eva Klein Giskie. She married
Herman
Foos May 17, 1932, at Bazine. He died April 20, 1983. A resident of
Overland Park for more than two years, coming from Great Bend, she was a
homemaker.
Mrs. Foos was a member of First United Methodist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Gary Foos of Overland Park; one brother, Henry
Giskie of Eads, Colo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Molly Weber, Marie Foos and
Lydia Yeager.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bryant-Christians Chapel in
Great Bend with the Rev. Dick Near officiating. Burial will be at the Great
Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 this evening at the funeral home.

Nellie Fisher Kindall 1926-2000
NESS CITY - Nellie Fisher Kindall, 73, died April 30 at the Ness County
Hospital in Ness City. She was born Sept. 2, 1926, at Belpre, the daughter
of David and Clara Shaver. She retired from Phillips Lighting Company of
Salina after 25 years.
Kindall was a member of United Methodist Church of Belpre.
Survivors include three sons, R.D. Fisher of Tustin, Calif., Randy Fisher
of Wichita and Mike Fisher of Salina; one daughter, Tammy Gabel of Ness
City; two brothers, Walter Jay "Ike" Shaver of Larned and Frank Shaver of
Royce City, Texas; three sisters, Mildred Cater of Waddington, Mich., Helen
Sellers of Salina and Myrtle Vlahos of Paris, Texas; nine grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned
with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Burial will be at the Belpre
Cemetery. Friends may call until 8 this evening and from 9 a.m. to service
time Wednesday at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Belpre Cemetery
Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Michael Schmidtberger 1925-2000
VICTORIA - Michael Schmidtberger, 75, died May 1 at his home in Victoria.
He was born March 18, 1925, in Victoria, the son of Alphonse and Clara Graf
Schmidtberger. He married
Anna M. Burghart June 16, 1947, in Pfeifer. She
died July 1, 1992. A lifetime resident of Victoria, he was a roustabout
supervisor for City Service Oil Company and retired in 1987.
Schmidtberger was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Knights of
Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1751, all of Victoria. He was a
U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Schmidtberger and Paul Schmidtberger,
both of Russell, and Karl Schmidtberger of Hays; three daughters, Diane
Carter of Salina, Janice Tholen of Victoria and Carol Dreiling of Hays; two
brothers, Robert A. Schmidtberger of Victoria and Marvin Schmidtberger of
Pratt; seven sisters, Mary Schmidtberger and Hermina Roth, both of
Victoria, Hubertine Schultz and Roseline Leiker, both of Hutchinson,
Albertine Foos of Great Bend, Sr. Vivian Schmidtberger CSA of LaCeila,
Honduras, and Edna Ptacek of Minneapolis; 17 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald
Schmidtberger; one brother, Linus Schmidtberger; and one sister, Angelita
Schmidtberger.
Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars rosary will be at 7 p.m.
Wednesday followed by a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., all at Cline's Mortuary
in Victoria. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the
Rev. Frank X. Grinko officiating. Burial will be at St. Fidelis cemetery in
Victoria, with military honors by Victoria VFW Post 1751. Friends may call
until 9 this evening, from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30-9:45 a.m.
Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis
Cemetery Fund, Sr. Vivian Schmidtberger Mission in LaCeila, Honduras, or
Masses, all in care of the funeral home.
