Randall Lee Ochs 1957-2000
HOISINGTON - Randall Lee Ochs, 42, died March 10 at his home. He was born
Oct. 2, 1957, at Dodge City, the son of Robert and Judy Scherman Ochs. A
lifetime resident of Hoisington, he had been a roughneck in the oil field.
Survivors include his mother of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one son, Aries Ochs
of Hays; three brothers, Dan Ochs of Bolivar, Mo., Robert Ochs of Del Rio,
Texas, and Jason Ochs of Enid, Okla.; four sisters, Merri Basque and Melody
Unrein, both of Oklahoma City, Esther Hughes of Hoisington and Lynnette
Rodes of Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Ochs.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Nicholson-Ricke
Funeral Home in Hoisington in charge of arrangements.

Gilbert J. Herrman 1924-2000
LA CROSSE - Gilbert J. Herrman, 75, died March 30 at his home. He was born
April 19, 1924, at Liebenthal, the son of Leo and Rosa Legleiter Herrman.
He married
Lillian M. Brungardt Jan. 12, 1948, at Liebenthal. A lifetime
resident of Rush County, he was an oil field worker.
Herrman was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in La Crosse and a
third degree member of Knights of Columbus in Liebenthal.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Arthur J. Herrman of
Maize, Stanley F. Herrman of Anchorage, Alaska, and Wayne L. Herrman of
Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Leon Herrman of Hays; six sisters, Florine
Daubert of Great Bend, Rose Johnson of Massachusetts, Leona Vsetecka of
Victory, Helen Medor of Pfeiffer, Agnes Randa of Liebenthal and Lucy
Herrman of La Crosse; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Julius Herrman and Jerome
Herrman; and five sisters, Mary Hooper, Wendy Herrman, Francis Herrman,
Dorothy Urban and Cecilia Herrman.
Parish rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. tonight followed by a Knights of
Columbus rosary, both at Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse. Funeral Mass
will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Benjamin Martin
officiating. Burial will follow at the La Crosse City cemetery in La
Crosse. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials
are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home.

Ronald D. 'Ron' Kroeger 1944-2000
WICHITA - Ronald D. "Ron" Kroeger, 55, died March 30 at Wichita. He was
born May 10, 1944, at Hays. A resident of Wichita, he was chief financial
officer for Ruffin Companies in Wichita.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kroeger, of the home; one son, Paul
Kroeger of Wichita; and his mother and stepfather, Marie and Francis Zink
of Great Bend.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc., in care of Broadway
Mortuary in Wichita.

Velma K. Martin 1922-2000
HOISINGTON - Velma K. Martin, 78, died April 1 at Via Christi Regional
Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, in Wichita. She was born March 13,
1222, in rural Hoisington, the daughter of Cecil L. and Katie A. Ford
Keltner. She married
John S. Martin May 4, 1942, at Great Bend. He died
Oct. 9, 1993. A lifetime resident of Hoisington who graduated from
Hoisington high school in 1939, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Martin was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Lydia
Circle of United Methodist Women, both of Hoisington. She attended a small
prayer group for 25 years and belonged to several social clubs.
Survivors include two sons, John D. Martin of Nairobi, Kenya, and Morris D.
Martin of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; one daughter, Mary Ruhlman of Surprise,
Ariz.; two brothers, Earl Keltner of Salina and Harold Keltner of Belton,
Mo.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by four brothers, Morris Keltner, Chester Keltner, Marvin Keltner and
Raymond Keltner.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Wayne
Flanders officiating. Burial will be at Hoisington cemetery in Hoisington.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. tonight, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 9-11:30
a.m. Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington, and from 12:30
p.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the
church or to Clara Barton Hospital Foundation, both in care of the funeral
home.

Doris Irene Kraus 1923-2000
TOPEKA - Doris Irene Kraus, 76, died May 19 at a nursing home in Topeka.
She was born Nov. 3, 1923, at Kinsley, the daughter of Leslie C. and Martha
Amrine Mack. After high school, she attended two years of business school
in Topeka. She married
Floyd O. Kraus March 20, 1943, in Lawrence.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one daughter, Janet L. Kraus of
Topeka; one brother, Leo Mack of Topeka; two sisters, Mina Berryman of
Larned and Louise Berry of Great Bend; two granddaughters; and one
great-grandson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.

Elva Dian Randall 1914-2000
LARNED - Elva Dian Randall, 86, died May 13 at her home in Larned. She was
born May 13, 1914, at Macksville, the daughter of V.F. and Carrie Burns
Pool. She married
Theron Ralph Randall June 18, 1955. He died April 28,
1992. A lifetime resident of Larned, she was a housekeeper for Larned
Courts Motel.
Mrs. Randall was a member of First Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign
Wars Auxiliary, both of Larned.
Survivors include one son, Don Randall of Natchitoches, La.; two daughters,
Shirley Hauser and JoAnn Stoy, both of Larned; 10 grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by three brothers, Vernon Pool, Frank Pool and Chester Pool; and
three sisters, Eunice Coatcher, Margaret McCabe and Ruth Shelby.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Larned cemetery with
the Rev. Daniel Lundgren officiating. Friends may call until 8 tonight at
Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned. Memorials are suggested to Larned
Emergency Medical Service, in care of the funeral home.

Beulah P. Brasfield 1906-2000
LARNED - Beulah P. Brasfield, 94, died May 7 at Hutchinson Hospital. She
was born Feb. 26, 1906, at Ulysses, the daughter of Thomas and Jessie
Emeline Scott Workman. She married
Floyd Brasfield July 16, 1938, at
Larned. He died Aug. 19, 1992. A lifetime resident of Larned, she was a
secretary at the Clutter Electric and Lynch Drug Store, both in Larned.
Mrs. Brasfield was a member of Presbyterian Church, BPW, American Legion
Auxiliary and a Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary lifetime member, all of
Larned. She was also a member of American Contract League bridge club of
Great Bend.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Darrel Turner of Hutchinson, Shawna
Ariza and Amy Brasfield, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; four
great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by two sons, Tom Brasfield and Victor Turner; and four brothers,
Kenneth Workman, Wilbur Workman, Cecil Workman and Paul Workman.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Larned cemetery with the
Rev. Jim Hawthorne officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at Beckwith
Mortuary Chapel in Larned. Memorials are suggested to American Lung
Association, in care of the funeral home.

HOISINGTON - Helen S. Connor, 96, died May 11 at Integrated Health Services
of Woodhaven in Ellinwood.

Charles B. Replogle, M.D., 73, died May 12 at his home in Great Bend.

Lois Marie Webb 1920-2000
LARNED - Lois Marie Webb, 79, died May 10 at Hospice Residential Care
Center in Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Ellensburg, Wash.,
the daughter of Herbert and Eula Mundy Harrell. She married
Fred E. Webb
Jr. on Feb. 22, 1943, at Ellensburg. He died June 9, 1991. She was a
graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 at Yakima,
Wash. A resident of Larned since 1945, she was director of nursing for 30
years at Gleason Hospital and staff nurse for 12 years at St. Joseph
Memorial Hospital, both of Larned.
Mrs. Webb was a member of First United Methodist Church and Veterans of
Foreign Wars Auxiliary, both of Larned. She was also a member of Reserve
Officer Auxiliary, Central Washington College Alumni Association and a
lifetime member of St. Elizabeth Alumni Association, all of Ellensburg.
Survivors include one son, Stephen F. Webb of Larned; one daughter, Sue Ann
Shelby of Topeka; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by two sisters, Bernadine Schulz and Juanita Greer.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Morell Funeral Home in Larned with the
Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Burial will be at Larned cemetery at a
later date. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and
from 9 a.m. until service time Monday, all at the funeral home. Memorials
are suggested to Larned Emergency Medical Service or Jordaan Memorial
Library, both in care of the funeral home.
