Junia Faye Dent 1929-2000
LARNED - Junia Faye Dent, 70, died March 11 at her home. She was born Aug.
6, 1929, at Waldron, the daughter of Elmer Henry and Metta Lucille Folk
Arb. She married
Roland O. Dent Aug. 9, 1958, at Harper. A resident of
Pawnee County since 1970, coming from Harper, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Dent was a member of Presbyterian Church of Larned.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Dr. Stephen Dent and
Danny Cormack, both of Larned; one daughter, Pamela Wyman of Larned; two
sisters, Virginia Brown of Harper and Carolyn Carpenter of Nekoma; six
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
one sister, Lois Cooper.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev.
James Hawthorne officiating. Burial will be at Larned cemetery in Larned.
Friends may call until 8 tonight and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Beckwith
Mortuary Chapel in Larned. Memorials are suggested to the church or Golden
Belt Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.

Victor Doubrava 1912-2000
WILSON - Victor Doubrava, 87, died March 11 at Wilson Nursing Center in
Wilson. He was born Dec. 28, 1912, at Holyrood, the son of Tobias and Anna
Sebesta Doubrava. He married
Loretta Hirt Sept. 14, 1940, at Russell. A
resident of Wilson, he was a farmer, stockman and businessman.
Doubrava was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Dorrance.
Survivors include his wife of the home; and one sister, Vivian Corrigan of
Wichita.
Vigil service will be at 7:30 tonight at Foster Mortuary in Wilson. Funeral
will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Jerome Morgan
officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's cemetery in Dorrance. Friends
may call until 8 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to
the church cemetery fund or donor's choice, all in care of the funeral home.

Elizabeth Jane Green
BISON - Elizabeth Jane Green, 91, died March 9 at Rush County Memorial
Hospital Long Term Care in La Crosse. She was born Dec. 20, 1908, at
Chanute, the daughter of John Augustus and Harriet Ann McClain Christy. She
married Claude A. Green Oct. 20, 1928, at Bristow, Okla. He died Oct. 18,
1966. A resident of La Crosse since 1990, coming from Bison, she was a
homemaker.
Mrs. Green was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, James Claude Green of Sequim, Wash.; one
daughter, Harriet A. Seuser of Bison; one brother, John Christy of Grand
Junction, Colo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Great Bend cemetery in Great
Bend with the Rev. Marilyn Crisswell officiating. Friends may call from 1-9
p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Bryant-Christians Funeral
Home in Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to Bison Public Library, in
care of the funeral home.

Christina M. Schwartz McReynolds
WICHITA - Christina M. Schwartz McReynolds, 90, died March 9 at Heritage
Village in Rose Hill. She was born Aug. 4, 1909, at Hoisington, the
daughter of Anton and Margaret Quint Kuhn. She married
John J. Schwartz
Nov. 26, 1929, at Hoisington. He died March 28, 1959. She married
John
McReynolds in June 1963. He died in January 1964. A resident of Wichita
since 1992, coming from Hoisington, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. McReynolds was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in
Hoisington.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Schwartz of Snohomish, Wash., Tom
Schwartz of Wichita, and John Schwartz of McPherson; two daughters, Betty
Szmyd of Fort Collins, Colo., and Theresa Murray of Hoisington; 20
grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Kuhn, Martin Kuhn and
Tom Kuhn; and three sisters, Mary Brickman, Tilly Springer and Frances
Percival.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in
Hoisington. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with
the Rev. Pascal Klein officiating. Burial will be at St. John Church
Cemetery in Hoisington. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today and from 9
a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Donald R. Herrman
HAYS - Donald R. Herrman, 51, died March 11 at Hays Medical Center. He was
born March 26, 1948, at Hays, the son of Reinhold A. and Josephine Kuhn
Herrman. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy. A resident
of Hays, he worked for the city of Hays and was a truck driver.
Survivors include one son, Dale Herrman of Gillette, Wyo.; two daughters,
Ava Marie Deline of Dallas, Texas, and Pam Herrman of Oceanside, Calif.;
five brothers, Cyrill Herrman of Salina, Les Herrman and Roy Herrman, both
of Hays, Orval Herrman of Aurora, Colo., Leon Herrman of Colorado Springs,
Colo., and Reinhold Herrman Jr. of Great Bend; four sisters, Edna Rohr of
Derby, Carol Danielson of Santee, Calif., Doris Winslow of Hays and Linda
Mayberry of Great Bend; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by one brother, Elmer Herrman.
A family rosary will be at 1:45 p.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary
Catholic Church in Hays. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with the
Rev. Don Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be at Our Lady, Help of
Christians cemetery at Antonino. Memorials are donor's choice, in care of
Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hays.

Teresa A. Johnson
VICTORIA - Teresa A. Johnson, 64, died March 9 at her home in Victoria. She
was born Jan. 8, 1936, at McPherson, the daughter of Lawrence and Maurine
Pecore Hochanadel. She married
Arlon M. Johnson April 20, 1954, at
Hoisington. He preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Hoisington High
School in Hoisington and Labette Community College in Parsons. She worked
at Asbury Hospital in Salina and La Crosse Furniture Factory in La Crosse
before retiring in 1992. A resident of Victoria since September 1999,
coming from La Crosse, Parsons, Salina and New Baden, Ill., she was a
respiratory therapist.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Victoria.
Survivors include six sons, Dennis Johnson of Barberton, Ohio, Timothy
Johnson of New Baden, Ill., Gregory Johnson of Topeka, David Johnson of
Parsons, Philip Johnson of Shelton, Neb., and Lawrence Johnson of
Pittsburg; four daughters, Brenda Duran of El Reno, Okla., Cheryl Solles of
Tribune, Deborah Kuhn of Victoria and Barbara Phillips of Pittsburg; five
brothers, David Hochanadel of New Braunfels, Texas, Max Hochanadel of
Woodinville, Wash., Donald Hochanadel of Overland Park, Mark Hochanadel of
Omaha Neb., and Gery Hochanadel of Coral Springs, Fla.; five sisters, Rita
Slous of Springfield, Mo., Rosalie Robl of Sterling, Va., Judy Flax of
Hays, Mary Smith of Larned and Diane Schwartz of Grand Island, Neb.; 20
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
one brother, Anthony Hochanadel; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.
A vigil service will be at 7:30 tonight at Cline's Mortuary in Victoria.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church in
Victoria with the Rev. Frank X. Grinko officiating. Burial will be at La
Crosse City cemetery in La Crosse. Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. today and
from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the
American Diabetes Association or Masses, in care of the funeral home.

Leonard Schwerdtfeger
BUSHTON - Leonard Schwerdtfeger, 74, died March 10 at his home in Bushton.
He was born March 21, 1925, in Rice County, the son of Carl and Edith
Blaylock Schwerdtfeger. He married
Oteka Murray Oct. 15, 1949, at Bushton.
A lifetime resident of Bushton, he was a self-employed electrician who also
served as the city marshal of Bushton and worked as a high school
custodian.
Schwerdtfeger was a member of First United Methodist Church and Veterans of
Foreign Wars, both of Bushton. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Lennie Schwerdtfeger of
Roseville, Mich., Alan Schwerdtfeger of McPherson and Glenn Schwerdtfeger
of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Crystal Behnke of Lyons; one brother,
Richard Schwerdtfeger of Kansas City; two sisters, Audrey Mullenix of Dodge
City and Shirley Brown of Kansas city, Mo.; and seven grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by one sister, Alice Bolack.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Priscilla
Davies officiating. Burial will be at Bushton cemetery in Bushton. Friends
may call from 1-8 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington
and from 10:30 a.m. to service time Monday at the church. Memorials are
suggested to the church or Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, both in
care of the funeral home.

Jule Lee Norton
ST. JOHN - Jule Lee Norton, 66, died March 10 at Hutchinson Hospital in
Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 8, 1934, at Great Bend, the daughter of Jule
and Blanche Markiewicz. She married
Omar C. Norton March 19, 1955, at Great
Bend. She graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield with a degree in
education. A resident of St. John since 1958, she was a school teacher for
one year and a librarian most of her life
Mrs. Norton was a member of First United Methodist Church, PEO, several
bridge clubs and donated much time to the St. John Shepherd's Center.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Mark A. Norton of
Spring Valley, Calif.; one daughter, Shari L. Jacobs of Lake City; one
sister, Dorothy Donnelly of Great Bend; and four grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by one sister, Maurita Midgorden.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. W. Harlan
Rittgers officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Park cemetery in St. John.
Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today at Minnis Chapel in St. John.
Memorials are suggested to the Methodist Church Future Fund, in care of the
funeral home.
