Eula Mae Jones 1916-2000
ELLINWOOD - Eula Mae Jones, 84, died March 26 at Sterling House in Great
Bend after a long illness. She was born March 12, 1916, at Daisey, Okla.,
the daughter of Charles and Phoebe Beatrice Berneathy Barker. She married
Arley Willard Jones Aug. 28, 1945, at Fort Smith, Ark. A resident of
Ellinwood since 1945, living in Great Bend for two months, she was a
retired licensed practical nurse having worked at Central Kansas Medical
Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend and Ellinwood District Hospital in
Ellinwood.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship in Great Bend, Order of
Eastern Star 1965 Worthy Matron of Ellinwood and Women's Aglow.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy
Brooks and Patsy Anderson; one brother, Benjamin Barker; and three sisters,
Helen Goodspeed, Catherine Elizabeth Livingston and Cora Barker.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Curtis
Reinhart officiating. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District cemetery in
Ellinwood. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kimple Inc. Funeral
Home in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Home Health and
Hospice, the church fellowship or Masonic Oncology Program, all in care of
the funeral home.

Marie Bennett 1913-2000
HOISINGTON - Marie Bennett, 86, died March 25 at Good Samaritan Center in
Ellis. She was born Nov. 23, 1913, at Eureka, the daughter of Emory and
Flora Kesinger Blake. She married
Everett D. Neal in Arkansas. He preceded
her in death. She married
Ross L. Dory in Newton. He died Jan. 30, 1959.
She then married
Joe N. Bennett Dec. 10, 1961. He died Aug. 9, 1969. A
resident of Hoisington since 1942, coming from El Dorado and Climax, she
was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of First Christian Church and a 25-year member of
Order of Eastern Star UNA 119 and served as past worthy matron, all of
Hoisington.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy S. Velman of Blackfoot, Idaho, and
Janet L. Weber of Ellis; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ray Neal; two brothers, Hugh Blake
and Marion Blake; and one sister, Nell Fraser.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Paula Bell
officiating. Burial will be at Golden Belt Cemetery. Friends may call from
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family receiving friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday
at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington and from 9 a.m. to service
time Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan
Center, in care of the funeral home.

Rita Estella Roach 1906-2000
LEAVENWORTH - Rita Estella Roach, 94, died March 24 at Leavenworth County
Infirmary in Leavenworth. She was born March 7, 1906, at Larned, the
daughter of Orlando Hiram and Lucy Stella Wheeler Fell. She married
Clarence Earl Roach June 5, 1929, at Larned. He died Oct. 13, 1973. She was
a 1923 graduate of Larned High School, receiving her BS from Fort Hays
State University in 1955, and receiving her Masters of Education Degree
from Emporia State College in 1960. A resident of Leavenworth, coming from
Larned where she had lived since 1971, and from Kansas City where she had
lived from 1955-1971, she taught at Washington High School and Arrowhead
Junior High School, both in Kansas City, until retiring. She had also
taught at one-room schools in Pawnee County and at Wellington.
Mrs. Roach was a member of First Christian Church of Larned where she
taught Sunday school and was a past board member, 70-year choir member and
founder of the youth choir, a member of Christian Women's Fellowship,
Tetulia, Retired Teacher's Organization in Larned, Daughters of The
American Revolution, a 35-year member of Larned Chapter of Order of Eastern
Star and was a Sustaining Member of Philomathean Club of Leavenworth.
Survivors include one son, Lt. Co. USAF Ret. Dwight Earl Roach of Myrtle
Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Clarita Belle DePaolis of Leavenworth; one
brother, Cleo "Ted" Fell of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Nadine Miller of
La Crosse, Clara Irene Blaebrell and Wilma Fraser, both of Larned; three
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
two sons, Ronald Wayne Roach and Russell Lee Roach; one brother, Clifford
Fell; and one sister, Fern Drain.
Funeral was today at the church. Burial will be at Larned cemetery in
Larned. Additional funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the
church. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time at the church.
Beckwith Mortuary of Larned and Barnen Funeral Home of Oskaloosa are in
charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the church of
Leavenworth or Larned, both in care of the funeral home.

Sister Mary Alban Rohr
WICHITA - Sister Mary Alban Rohr, ASC, 93, died March 23 in Wichita. She
was born March 14, 1907, in Antonino, the daughter of George A. and Mary C.
Wassinger Rohr. A resident of Wichita, she was a retired elementary
teacher.
Survivors include nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by nine
brothers, Tony Rohr, Albert Rohr, Rudolph Rohr, Paul Rohr, Jacob Rohr,
Clarence Rohr, Gilbert Rohr, Frank Rohr and Richard Rohr; four sisters,
Agatha Rohr, Alice Rohr, Rose Rohr and Clara Rohr.
Wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at Provincial House of the Adorers of
the Blood of Christ in Wichita. Funeral Mass will be at 4 p.m. Monday at
the provincial house. Memorials are suggested to Retirement of Sisters,
ASC, in care of DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary in Wichita.

Michael Leigh Milloway
LARNED - Michael Leigh Milloway, 45, died March 23 at Northwest Texas
Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He was born March 31, 1954, at Larned, the son
of Max W. and Evelyn Hewett Milloway. He was a graduate of Plainview High
School and attended South Plains College. A lifetime resident of Plainview,
Texas, he was a construction worker.
Milloway was a member of First Christian Church in Tulia, Texas, and
Hi-Plains Gem and Mineral Society.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Charity Shone of Plainview; two
brothers, Richard Milloway of Tulia and James of Gainesville, Texas; and
one sister, Joanne D'urso of Springfield, Va. He was preceded in death by
one sister, Melodie Milloway.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Larned cemetery in
Larned with the Rev. Daniel Lundgren officiating. Friends may call from 9
a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned. Memorials are
suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home.
