Elva H. Glass 1906-2000
LARNED - Elva H. Glass, 94, died Feb. 17 at Larned Healthcare Center in Larned. She was born Jan. 15, 1906 at Timken, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Holopirek) Kraisinger. She married Harry Glass June 23, 1934. He died Jan. 24, 1974. A Plainville resident most of her life, moving to Larned in 1994, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Glass was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Kraisinger, Arthur Kraisinger and Robert Kraisinger; and two sisters, Lillian Moore and Edna Wilhelm.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Janousek Funeral Home in LaCrosse with the Rev. Kathy Bannister officiating. Burial will be at LaCrosse City cemetery in La Crosse. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. today at the funeral home, Memorials are suggested to Larned Healthcare Center.

Melvin Virgil Morris 1920-2000
Melvin Virgil Morris, 79, died Feb. 15 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend. He was born Dec. 10, 1920, at rural Belleville, the son of Austin and Ethel Sharp Morris. He married Bettyann Kassebaum Dec. 7, 1952, at Hebron, Neb. She died in 1989. He graduated from Hebron High School and received his certification in refrigeration at Barton County Community College in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend coming from the Hebron area and the Belvidere area, where he farmed, he was self-employed in appliance repair after having worked for Rural Electric Association for 18 years.
Morris was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Melvin E. Morris of McPherson; three daughters, Vicki Morris of Geneseo, Linda Fangmeier of Hubbell, Neb., and Nancy Seifers of Ellinwood; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Funeral was Feb. 18 at Hebron Memorial Funeral Home in Hebron, with the Rev. Warren Schoming officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery in Hebron, Neb. A memorial has been established in care of the funeral home.

Edward B. Yeager 1914-2000
RUSSELL - Edward B. Yeager, 85, died Feb. 18 at Russell Regional Hospital in Russell. He was born March 19, 1914, at Rozel, the son of Wesley Ralph and Christine Reed Yeager. He married Maurine C. Schrock Oct. 17, 1947, at Larned. He graduated from Macksville High School and attended Wichita State University. A resident of Macksville and having lived in Great Bend, he worked for C.O. Mammels grocery chain for many years, managing a store in Larned, Macksville and Russell, as well as area stores supervisor, and was vice president of warehouse operations in Great Bend, retiring in 1987.
Yeager was a member of Consistory and ISIS Shrine in Salina; St. John Lutheran Church of Russell, Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, Rotary Club and Shrine Club, was a lifetime member of American Legion Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, all of Russell. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Douglas Yeager of Wichita; one daughter, Marsha Martin of Georgetown, Texas; one brother, Bob Yeager of Larned; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with the Revs. Henry Hartman and Michael Fibranz officiating. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran cemetery in Russell. Friends may call from noon to 9 tonight and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Pohlman's Mortuary in Russell and 1 p.m. to service time Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Russell Regional Hospital and the church, both in care of the funeral home.

Pauline Suiter 1907-2000
MACKSVILLE - Pauline Suiter, 92, died Feb. 17 at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City, Mo. She was born May 16, 1907, at Tingley, Iowa, the daughter of John and Edna Booth. She married Ernest Suiter July 28, 1926, at Belpre. He died Oct. 25, 1981. She attended schools in Macksville and was a 1925 graduate of Belpre High School. A lifetime resident of Macksville, moving to Overland Park 1 1/2 years ago, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Suiter was a member of Macksville Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and other clubs and organizations in the Macksville area.
Survivors include one son, Rollin "Bud" Suiter of Macksville; two daughters, Betty Jo Gilkison of Overland Park and Dorothy Reid of Leawood; one brother, Roy Booth of Blue Eye, Mo.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Booth and Johnny Booth.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Carey Haner officiating. Burial will be at Farmington cemetery in Macksville. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. today at Minnis Chapel in Macksville. Memorials are suggested to the church or Southwind Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.

Erma Ethel Meyer 1902-2000
Erma Ethel Meyer, 97, died Feb. 17 at Hoisington. She was born May 27, 1902, at Hoisington, the daughter of Daniel Loten and Mary Margaret Dumpprope Tripp. She married Edward Joseph Meyer June 5, 1925, at Hoisington. He died July 1, 1978. She was a 1920 graduate of Hoisington High School. A longtime resident of Great Bend, she was a retired teacher, having taught in Hoisington, Heizer and Rural District 95 in Galatia.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of First Christian Church of Great Bend, Royal Neighbors, Rebecca Lodge IOOF and 20th Century Club.
Survivors include one son, Ross Meyer of East Helena, Mont.; four nephews, Charlie Meyer of Great Bend, Harold Meyer, Joe Meyer and Jack Meyer, all of Tulsa, Okla.; two nieces, Ada Schissler of Denver, Colo., and Maxine Maresch of Rush Center; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Meyer; one brother, Roy Tripp; and one sister, Evelyn Cox.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. William Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend cemetery in Great Bend.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Fryberger Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home.

Robert L. Bauer 1940-2000
LARNED - Robert L. Bauer, 59, died Feb. 17 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus in Larned. He was born Nov. 24, 1940, at Larned, the son of Lester G. and Hattie Elizabeth Juergensen Bauer. He married Virginia Ann Culbreath Oct. 31, 1959, at St. John. A longtime resident of Larned, coming from Radium, he was a licensed mental health technician II, working 34 years at Larned State Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Lance L. Bauer and Allen J. Bauer, both of Larned, and Troy V. Bauer of Colby; two brothers, Merle Bauer of Tucson, Ariz., and Maurice Bauer of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Alex Bauer.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Burial will be at Pawnee Rock Cemetery. Friends may call until 8 tonight, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.

Clinton Joy
WICHITA - Joy Clinton, 83, died Feb. 16 at Wichita. He was born Dec. 17, 1916. He married Hazel Smith. A resident of Wichita, he was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Larry Joy of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Cindy George of Wichita and Janice Heinz of Great Bend; one brother, Victor Joy of Blue Springs, Mo.; one sister, Grace Twidwell of Peidmont, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita with the Rev. Mark Holick officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Prospect cemetery in Silva, Mo. Friends may call until 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Audra Ellen Oliver 1919-2000
GARDEN CITY - Audra Ellen Oliver, 80, died Feb. 16 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Finney County, the daughter of Luther E. and Lena Cook Proffitt. A lifetime resident of Garden City, she was a beautician, worked in the meat department at Walls Foodliner and as a clerk at Streeter Cleaners, all of Garden City.
Mrs. Oliver was a member of First Christian Church and Eagles Auxiliary, both of Garden City, and Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include two sons, Bernard R. Oliver of Garden City and Steven K. Oliver of Wichita; one brother, Earl Proffitt of Garden City; one sister, Ruth Buehler of Great Bend; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Donald Carter officiating. Burial will be at Valley View cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 1-9 tonight and from 9-11 a.m. Friday at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Memorials are suggested to Audra E. Oliver Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Virginia Marie Stout 1938-2000
HOISINGTON - Virginia Marie Stout, 61, died Feb. 16 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Odin, the daughter of August A. and Anna Prosser Steiner. She married Dean M. Stout June 17, 1958, at Odin. A lifetime resident of the Hoisington area, she worked in the housekeeping department at Hoisington Rehabilitation Center for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Stout was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Altar Society and St. Johns Prayer Network, all of Hoisington.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Douglas Stout of Victoria and Duane Stout of Hoisington; two daughters, Bernice Dauer of Falun and Debbie Webster of Great Bend; her mother of Odin; two brothers, Don Steiner of Hawesville, Ky., and Leon Steiner of Hoisington; one sister, Mary Ann Brush of Wichita; and six grandchildren.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday followed by an Altar Society rosary at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Revs. Pascal Klein and Ultan Murphy officiating. Burial will be at Hoisington cemetery in Hoisington. Friends may call from 1-8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the church or Clara Barton Hospital Foundation, both in care of the funeral home.

Bobby Glen Carson 1931-2000
Bobby Glen Carson, 68, died Feb. 15 at Wichita. He was born March 18, 1931, at Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of Russell Augusta and Ella Pearl Smith Carson. He married Phyllis Marie Ratlief Feb. 18, 1955, at Medicine Lodge.
A long time resident of Great Bend, he was a rough neck in the oil fields and worked at Marlette Coach in Great Bend.
Carson was a member of Church of Christ in Hutchinson, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Bobby Ray Carson of Great Bend and Clifford Lynn Carson of Lansing; one daughter, Christine Ann McNown of Moline; his mother of Great Bend; two brothers, George Carson of Hoisington and Russell Carson of Great Bend; one sister, Nona Manning of Ellinwood; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Ray Carson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fryberger Mortuary in Great Bend with Richard Foster officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill cemetery in Chautauqua with full military rites by the U.S. Army from Fort Riley. Friends may call until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Veterans Administration volunteer services, DAV or the American Cancer Society, all in care of the funeral home.
