Frances Korb, 92, Lawrence, KS, formerly of Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Wednesday December 6, 2006 at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence, KS.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday December 9, 2006 at the United Methodist Church, Tonganoxie, KS, with visitation one hour before. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie, KS. .
Frances was born September 4, 1914 in Reno, KS, the daughter of Paris and Fannie (Cline) Pearson. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, the Tonganoxie Historical Society, the United Methodist Women and the Riford Senior Center. She was united in marriage August 1, 1933 in Leavenworth County, KS, to Edward Korb, he preceded her in death in 1999. She and her husband owned and operated Korb Electric in Tonganoxie, KS for over 20 years. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Pearce, in 1972, her son-in-law, Darrell Pearce in 1997 and her great granddaughter, Ashlyn Green, in 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Mallams, and husband, Pat, North Richland Hills, TX; daughter-in-law, Nancy Pearce, Tonganoxie, KS; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her loyal companion, Tootsie.

William (Billie) Dean Plake
William (Billie) Dean Plake, 71, Tonganoxie, passed away at his home on Tuesday December 5, 2006.
He was born on January 26, 1935 in Chanute, KS to Leo Clifford Plake and Wilma Pearl Hornbeck. They preceded him in death along with his brother, Clifford.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday December 11, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS. Visitation will be on Sunday at the church from 4-7 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m.
Bill struggled with many illnesses and hardships in his life but found great joy and hope in living. He was a peaceful man who loved fishing, hunting, a top bowler, loved to play cards and cook. He accomplished many home projects. He had the great gift of vision, and could plan and accomplish any project he put his mind to.
He converted to Catholism at 21 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, a Fourth Degree Knight, a member of local union IBEW #53.
Due to illness Bill retired in 1978 after many years working in the grocery business and Shade Tree Service Company.
In 1981, Bill received a kidney transplant from his sister, Beverly.
From 1982 until 1992 Bill and his wife Wilma owned and operated Granny’s Hilltop.
On November 10, 1956 he married
the love of his life, Wilma Eskina. They were soulmates and celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. She survives of the home.
He loved and believed in his faith and knew there was a greater plan for him and his suffering.
His children and all the little ones are a big part of his life and there will always be a void in their hearts now. Bill leaves 3 sons and 2 daughters and their spouses, Brian, McLouth, KS, Gregg, Lawrence, KS, William, Michelle Collier and Kathy Caenen, all of Tonganoxie; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Wilford Plake, a sister, Beverly Plake of KC, KS; and his life-long friend, Jim Puhl.
Memorials suggested to the Sacred Heart Prayer Garden or the Knights of Columbus, which includes “Project Moses”.

Nancy Louise Smith
Nancy Louise Smith, 59, Lawrence, KS, died Sunday December 10, 2006 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday December 15, 2006 at the United Methodist Church, Tonganoxie, KS. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Burial will be in Eagle Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Nancy was born August 20, 1947 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Earlan and Winifred (Moses) Hurley. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degree from University of Kansas, Lawrence. She worked as the Variety Page editor for Lawrence Journal World and published her own gardening newsletter called “Back in Thyme”. She was united in marriage to Richard M. Smith on January 26, 1969 in Lawrence, KS. He survives of the home.
She is also survived by 2 daughters, Alison Reber, Lawrence, KS and Adrienne Oudenampsen, Arnhem, The Netherlands; one brother, Jack L. Hurley, Eagle Rock, MO; and 2 granddaughters.

Gerald Lynn Stone
Gerald Lynn Stone, 72, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Thursday December 14, 2006 at the Medical Lodge, Kansas City, KS.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday December 19, 2006 at the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS.
Gerald was born October 5, 1934 in Thompson, Ohio, the son of Ralph and Helen (Ritola) Stone. He was a 1952 graduate of Thompson High School and received a Bachelors degree from Kent State University. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Geologist and worked on the feasibility of the minuteman missile program in Wyoming, Nebraska and Alaska. He later retired as Vice President of the Judy Co., Edwardsville, KS.
Survivors include two sons, Lance and Linc, both of Tonganoxie, KS; one daughter, Terry Brummer, Indianola, Iowa; one brother, Russell, Thompson, Ohio; one sister, Louise Weddington, Akron, Ohio and four grandchildren.
Frances Jeanne Moore
Frances Jeanne Moore, 75, McLouth, KS, died Tuesday December 19, 2006 at her home.
She was cremated. The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Friday December 22, 2006 at their home, 402 S. Olive, McLouth, KS 66054. Private inurnment will be in McLouth Cemetery.
Frances was born on July 27, 1931 in McLouth, KS, the daughter of Robert Aaron and Ella Leanna (Green) Graham. She was united in marriage on January 15, 1948 to Elmer (Bud) Dean Moore in McLouth, KS. He survives of the home.
She is also survived by three sons, Robert, Johnson, KS, James, McLouth, KS, and Larry, Oskaloosa, KS; one daughter, Janeice Smoots, Emporia, KS; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Elizabeth (Betty) M. Quisenberry, 94, Tonganoxie, KS died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganxie, KS.
Betty was born May 6, 1912 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Felix and Susie (Fritzel) Niemeyer. She was a hairstylist and salon owner. She was a member of Tonganoxie Christian Church. On March 24, 1931 she was united in marriage to Harry E. Quisenberry in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death April 17, 1969.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Buster) Quisenberry, Grove, OK; daughter, Barbara and husband, Kenny Mahoney, Tonganoxie; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Carole Jean Mooberry, 75, Tonganoxie, KS died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 10 a.m., January 4, 2007 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Fall Creek Cemetery, Jarbalo, KS. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mooberry was born June 27, 1931 in Iola, KS the daughter of Conrad and Hazel (Kessinger) Krause. She was a homemaker and had previously worked 10 years for J.C Penney Co in Kansas City, Ks. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sedalia, MO. In 1949 she was united in marriage to Donald O. Mooberry in Liberty, MO. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Mooberry in 2003.
Survivors include her husband, Donald of the home; two sons, Ronald Mooberry of Kansas City, MO and Steve Mooberry of Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Donna McCrory of Basehor and Connie Ware of Sullivan, MO; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Ruth M. Cox, 87, Tonganoxie, KS died Friday, January 5, 2007 in Bonner Springs, KS.

Ruth was born June 19, 1919 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of Harry and Esther (Roberts) Robbins. She retired as Transportation Manager and bus driver for the Tonganoxie School District. She was a member of Tonganoxie Christian Church. On January 2, 1936, she was united in marriage to Dale Cox.
Survivors include her husband, Dale, of the home; daughter, Jackie Voelker, Tonganoxie, KS; six brothers, Frank Robbins, Overland Park, KS, Ralph Robbins, Tonganoxie, KS, Raymond Robbins, Basehor, KS, Herbert Robbins, Tonganoxie, KS, Donald Robbins, McLouth, KS and Charles Robbins, Lebanon, MO; three grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren.

Richard G. Williams, 50, Platte City, MO, passed away Tuesday January 9, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday January 13, 2007 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie, KS.
Richard was born November 5, 1956 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Raymond and Shirley (Akers) Williams. He was a 1974 graduate of Tonganoxie High School. He was a group leader at Owens-Corning Fiberglass, Kansas City, KS, where he worked for 32 years. He was united in marriage to Connie Sneed on May 10, 1997 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Williams, of the home; one son, Aaron Williams, Baltimore, Maryland; one step-son, Jeffrey Bouldin, Tonganoxie, KS; one daughter, Sherry Weeks, Atchison, KS; 3 brothers, David Williams, Kansas City, MO, James Williams, Edwardsville, KS and Randy Williams, Virginia Beach, Virginia; one sister, Vickie Raymer, Louisville, Kentucky and 4 grandchildren.

Lucille Cordon, 80, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Friday January 19, 2007 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center, Tonganoxie, KS.
Graveside inurnment services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday January 23, 2007 at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, KS. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS.
Lucille was born on January 8, 1927 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of August and Alice (Edwards) Goerke. She was married
to John P. Cordon, who preceded her in death December 26, 1967. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Cordon, in July 1990 and her brother-in-law, Clifford Ashby. Lucille was a member of the West Haven Baptist Church, Tonganoxie, and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Lux, Tonganoxie, KS and Beverly DeDecker, Waynesboro, VA; one sister, Frances Ashby, Hutchison, KS; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
