Etta was born October 22, 1920 in Harveyville, KS, the daughter of Archie and Virginia (Sherwood) Hodgson. She was a retired home economics teacher and homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo and husband, Dane Henry, Kansas City, MO; brother, Raymond Hodgson, Harveyville, KS; sister, Mary Frances Hodgson, Osage City, KS; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James William (Jim) Frick
James William (Jim) Frick, 57, McLouth, KS died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie. The family will receive 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jim was born May 24, 1949 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Francis LeRoy and Mildred Rose (Smith) Frick. He was a Viet Nam veteran and retired from the U.S. Navy in 1990. He was a chef for Bitler’s Hickory House Barbeque, Tonganoxie and Harvest House Restaurant, McLouth and currently worked for Peruvian Connection, Tonganoxie. He was a volunteer for the Alexandria Township Fire Department. On January 4, 1969 he was united in marriage to Frances F. Kelly at Basehor, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; two sons, James William Frick, Jr., Manhattan, KS and A1C Russell Benjamin Frick, Langley AFB, VA; four daughters, Helen Elaine Lingenfelter, Spokane, WA, Kathrine Rose Atkinson, Valley Falls, KS, Margaret Fern Perry, Kalispell, MT and Cynthia Louise Frick, Yakima, WA; three brothers, Charles David Frick and Thomas G. Frick, both of Tonganoxie and Anthony E. Frick, Roland, OK; sister, Francene Lynn Criswell, Bremerton, WA and 11 grandchildren.

Dorothy A. Hansen, 85, McLouth, KS, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in Lawrence, KS.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2006 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in McLouth Cemetery, McLouth, KS. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hansen was born July 21, 1921 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Skaggs) Beaty. She was a homemaker and a member of Stanwood Friends Church. On September 1, 1940 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Hansen.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home; son, William A., McLouth, KS; two daughters, Esther Mitchell and Shirley Gleason, both of Lawrence, KS; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Avanell McBroom
Avanell McBroom, 83, Lawrence, KS, formerly of the Leavenworth area, passed away Monday June 26, 2006 at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence, KS.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday June 30, 2006 at Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor, KS.
Avanell was born on June 11, 1923 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Oscar and Chloe (Beard) Burns. She was a self-employed beautician and also worked for Gould National Battery, Co., Leavenworth, KS, as an assembly line worker. She was a past president of the American Business Women’s Association, Leavenworth, KS. She was married
to Wilbur Clete McBroom, who died in 1982.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Lee McBroom, Leavenworth, KS, James Earl McBroom, Easton, KS and Gary Wilbur McBroom, Linwood, KS; one brother, Carl Burns, Sibley, MO; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grand children and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Ryan Joseph Burke
Ryan Joseph Burke, 20, beloved son of Steven and Cathleen Burke, Edgerton, KS, formerly of Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Thursday June 29, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday July 3, 2006 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the church, where the Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Ryan was born on June 22, 1986 in Shawnee, KS, the son of Steven and Cathleen (Harrison) Burke. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS. He graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 2004, where he lettered in football and baseball. He was a Kansas State Scholar. Ryan was currently a student at the University of Kansas, Lawrence.
He is survived by his parents, of the home; one brother, Rory Burke, Lawrence, KS; one sister, Shelby Burke, of the home; his maternal grandparents, Dee and Mary Harrison, Farmington, IA and his maternal great grandmother, Elizabeth Allaman, Farmington, IA.
Barbara Jo Haufler
Barbara Jo Haufler, 70, Tonganoxie, KS died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at home.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, where the family will receive friends one hour before services. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Vassar, KS.
Barbara was born March 9, 1936 in Michigan Valley, KS, the daughter of Hap and Edna (Hart) Wischropp. She was a teacher’s aid for U.S.D. # 204 and a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, both of Bonner Springs, KS and a homemaker. On Oct. 3, 1954 she was united in marriage to Harold E. Haufler.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, of the home; son, Steve, Tonganoxie; two daughters, Jolinda Young, Orlando, FL and Julie Hickey, San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Lyla Ramirez, Marshall, MO and Carole Ann Zellmer, Butler, MO and six grandchildren.

Jacob Wayne Wyrick
Jacob Wayne Wyrick, 21, Tonganoxie, KS died Friday, July 14, 2006 in an automobile accident in Lawrence, KS.
Funeral services will be 11 am Monday, July 17, 2006 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before service time Monday at the Church.
Jacob was born November 6, 1984 in Lawrence, KS. He was a 2003 graduate of Tonganoxie High School where he played soccer and baseball.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Scott and Jannette (Myers) Bouldin, Tonganoxie; one brother, Jeffrey Bouldin, Tonganoxie; one half brother, Richard Wyrick, Jr., Eudora; two half sisters, Amanda and Rachel Wyrick, Eudora; paternal grandfather, Albert Wyrick, Tonganoxie; paternal grandmother, Dixie Bouldin, Shawnee Mission, KS and maternal grandparents, Nona and J.B. Benjamin McKibbon Pickert
Benjamin McKibbon Pickert, 21, Tonganoxie, KS died Friday, July 14, 2006 in an automobile accident in Lawrence, KS.
A Memorial Mass will be held 4 pm Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS, where the family will receive friends 1 hour before services.
Private inurnment will follow.
Benjamin was born March 27, 1985 at St.Luke’s hospital, K.C. MO. Benjamin lived most of his life in Bonner Springs, KS, and later moved to Tonganoxie, KS, where he graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 2003. Benjamin attended JCCC and was transferring to the University of Kansas this fall.
Benjamin lived every day with exuberance; his energy and laugh were contagious. Everyone always had a good time around Ben. He had a very kind heart and always put the welfare of others ahead of himself.
Benjamin leaves behind his mother, Jacque Egnatic, Tonganoxie, KS, with whom he resided; father, Duane Pickert, Olathe, KS; brother, Justin Pickert, Chesterfield, MO; his maternal grandmother, Lillian Beasley, and paternal grandparents, Everett and Audrey Pickert; his best friend, Josh Hunter, and his girlfriend, Toni Kim; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Daisy M. Gergick, 73, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the church, where the Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Daisy was born on July 9, 1933 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Alfred and Sylvia (Robinson) Burkard. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Gergick on October 12, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved birds, quilting, bowling and was a member of Heartland Toy Fox Terrier Association and Kansas Miniature Horse Club.
She is survived by her husband, Edward J. Gergick, of the home; son, Edward J. Gergick, Jr., Tonganoxie; three daughters, Cindy M. Werner, Winchester, KS, Mary C. Gergick and Theresa A. Gergick, both of Tonganoxie; sister, Christine Leaf, Kansas City, KS; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Harold E. Haufler, 78, Tonganoxie, KS, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at his home.
Funeral service will be 7 pm Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie with a visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be 10 am Tuesday at Mr. Zion Cemetery, Vassar, KS.
Harold was born January 11,1928 in Michigan Valley, KS the son of Elmer and Mathilda (Renken) Haufler. Harold was an army veteran and worked as a service tech and retired after 34 years for Montgomery Ward, KC, KS. He was a volunteer firefighter for Delaware Township, in Wyandotte County and was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church, Bonner Springs. Harold was united in marriage on October 3, 1954 in Vassar, KS to Barbara Jo Wischropp who preceded him in death on July 2, 2006.
Survivors include One son; Steve and wife, Anita Haufler, Tonganoxie, KS; Two daughters; Jolinda Young, Orlando, FL, and Julie and husband, Mark Hickey, San Antonio, TX; Two brothers, Delmer Haufler, Burlingame, KS, and Theron Haufler, Montfort, WI; and six grandchildren.

Urban A. Dziadura, 81, Tonganoxie, KS, died Friday August 11, 2006 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday August 14, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at the church, with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Urban was born November 5, 1924 in Bonner Springs, KS, the son of Peter and Helen (Belka) Dziadura. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and a WWII veteran. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was united in marriage to Ethel G. Theno on October 8, 1949 in Basehor, KS. He worked as a meat cutter for Goldstein Brothers Meat Co. and S&S Meat Co., both of KC, MO., and retired in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel, of the home and one brother, Ernest Dziadura, Spring Hill, KS.
