Graveside services will be 11 am Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at McLouth Cemetery, McLouth, KS. Visitation from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS, where the family will receive friend 6 to 8 p.m.
Murphy was born July 29, 1930 in McLouth, KS, the son of Grover and Lila (Shrader) VanDruff. He served in the US Air Force as a fireman. He was a retired postal worker and school bus driver. He was united in marriage to Jo Ann (Yoakum) Gibson in 1976 in McLouth, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann VanDruff, of the home; two sons, Tim and Dale VanDruff, both of Lawrence, KS; three stepsons, Tim Gibson, Lawrence, KS, Chuck Gibson, KC, KS and Al Gibson, Lawrence, KS; two daughters, Lisa VanDruff , Lawrence, KS and Cayla VanDruff, KC, KS; stepdaughter, Cindy Hackathorn, Oskaloosa, KS; two brothers, David and wife, Claudia VanDruff, Basehor, KS and Larry and wife, Helen VanDruff, Tonganoxie, KS; sister, Esther and husband, Herman McAfee, Caney, KS; and 11 grandchildren.

Lucille M. Siddens, 87, Tonganoxie, KS died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at St. John Hospital, Leavenworth, KS.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Grandview Cemetery, Riley, KS. Friends may call 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Siddens was born June 5, 1918 in Leonardville, KS, the daughter of Charles and Cora (Busher) Scott. She had worked as a cook for Champion’s IGA in Tonganoxie and was a babysitter. On November 7, 1936 she was united in marriage to George Siddens in Salina, KS. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Rebecca’s, both of Tonganoxie, KS. Her husband and one step-daughter, Betty Richter, preceded her in death.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Norma Moore, Lansing, KS, Susanne Heien, Huston, TX and Vicky Burk, Lawrence, KS; 1 brother, Charles Scott, Jr., Oldsburg, KS; 2 Sisters, Pauline VanDerbur, Council Grove, KS, and Lois Borg, Manhattan, KS; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Robert Milton Penrod
Robert Milton Penrod, 71, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the VA Hospital, Leavenworth, KS.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Pathway to Life Church, 201 E. Lucy, McLouth, KS. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Private burial will be in Bonner Springs Cemetery, Bonner Springs, KS.
Mr. Penrod was born on May 14, 1934 in Loring, KS, the son of Milton and Alice (Fisher) Penrod. He was a 1952 graduate of Bonner Springs High School and a 1956 graduate of the K.U. School of Business. He served three years in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. He worked as an Independent Business Consultant. He was united in marriage to Jill Nelson on June 17, 1960 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a member of the Pathway to Life Church, McLouth, KS.
Survivors include his wife, Jill Penrod, of the home; two sons, Darin Penrod, Kansas City, MO and David Penrod, Overbrook, KS; four daughters, Staci Earl, Lawrence, KS, Debby Slifer, Olathe, KS, Kari Penrod, Kansas City, KS and Paula Mance, Basehor, KS; two sisters, Virginia Amend, El Dorado, KS and Alice Belle Yockey, Bend, Oregon; and eight grandchildren.

Leroy S. Tinberg
Leroy S. Tinberg, 82, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Friday, February 03, 2006 at K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Bonner Springs Cemetery, Bonner Springs, KS. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service.
Leroy was born on February 13, 1924 in Leavenworth County, KS, the son of Elmer and Clara (Smith) Tinberg. He retired from Kansas Department of Transportation. He also farmed.
Survivors include one brother, Delmar Tinberg, Tonganoxie, KS and one sister, Alena Mae Scheidt, Linwood, KS.
Roger Dean Wyer
Roger Dean Wyer, beloved son and brother passed from our lives January 21, 2006 at his home in Jarbalo, KS from natural causes.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Victory Baptist Church, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Eudora Cemetery, Eudora, KS.
Roger was born on July 22, 1956 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Robert and Gladys (Robertson) Wyer. He was a 1974 graduate of Eudora High School. He resided and was employed in Kansas City, MO by Butler Mfg. and Sprint for many years as a computer operator and most recently worked at Oliver Hall on Kansas University. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Wyer in 1968.
Survivors include his mother, Gladys Shelton, Jarbalo, KS; his father, Robert Wyer, and wife Patricia, Belgrade, MT and a sister, Roberta Guffey, and husband Bill, Belgrade, MT; one niece; one nephew; one great niece and one great nephew. He is survived by a host of family and friends.
Ellen (Bea) Beatrice Black
Ellen (Bea) Beatrice Black, 85, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Friday, January 20, 2006 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church, 204 Washington Street, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, 4th and Delaware, Tonganoxie.
Bea was born on September 4, 1920 in Tonganoxie, the daughter of John Benjamin and Mary (Voyles) Vollintine. She was the youngest of ten children. She was a member of the Tonganoxie Christian Church, and was their first secretary. She graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 1938 and attended Lawrence Business and Burroughs School in Kansas City, MO. Bea worked for Federal Crop Insurance and Southwestern Bell and also worked for Hercules Power and retired from Leavenworth Jefferson Electric Corp. She married
Benjamin F. Bateson December 20, 1941 in Kansas City, MO. He passed away December 10, 1970. She married
William A. Black April 2, 1983 in Tonganoxie, KS. He passed away December 3, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Rolla, Jason, William, and Culver; her sisters Elva, Clara and Frieda.
Survivors include two sons, John Bateson, Tonganoxie and Steve Bateson, and wife, Arleta, Basehor, KS; two daughters, Delores Edmonds, and husband Jim, Tonganoxie and Carolyn Rose, and husband, Bob, Council Grove, KS; two stepsons, John E. Black, Saranac, MI and Donald Black, McLouth, KS; one stepdaughter, Pamela Allen, and husband Harvey, Pensacola, FL; one brother, Marshall Smith Vollintine; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Harold Herman Steffen
Harold Herman Steffen, 93, Leavenworth, KS, passed away Friday, January 20, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service at the church.
Harold was born December 30, 1912 in Hartington, Nebraska, the son of Carl C. and Hannah Christine (Soehner) Steffen. He was a member of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He married
Gladys Mae Frerichs on January 29, 1944 in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Steffen was a member of the Tonganoxie Christian Church, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Leavenworth American Legion. He retired from Associated Transport as a truck driver and also farmed.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Steffen, of the home; two sons, John Joseph Steffen, and wife Nancy, Topeka and Donald "Dennie" Steffen, and wife Sylvia; Leavenworth; three grandsons, Joe Steffen, Dan Steffen and Don Steffen; and six great grandchildren.

Doris M. Gilliland
Doris M. Gilliland, 85, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS.
Graveside services will be 11 am Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence, KS. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, January 16, 2006 at the Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie.
Doris was born November 28, 1920 in Scribner, Nebraska, the daughter of Maurice and Addie (Brown) Black. Doris was united in marriage on October 11, 1942 to John Gilliland, in Topeka, KS. He preceded her in death. She worked as a meat wrapper for 25 years at Rusty's I.G.A., Lawrence, KS, and was a member of the Tonganoxie Senior Citizens Quilters, the Reno Ladies Aid, and the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church.
Survivors include, two sons; Jack Gilliland, Blue Springs, MO, and Keith Gilliland, Lawrence, KS; three brothers; Wayne Black, and Maurice Black Jr., both of Tonganoxie, KS, Dale Black, Olathe, KS; one sister, Opal Kerns, Tonganoxie, KS; two grandsons, two granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren.

David Wayne Kitterman
David Wayne Kitterman, 77, McLouth, KS passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2006 at the Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie, KS. Inurnment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour before service.
Mr. Kitterman was born July 18, 1928 in Monett, MO, the son of R.J. and Cora (Stephens) Kitterman. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a printer and he farmed. He was united in marriage in 1952 to Elizabeth Witt in Kansas City, Kansas. Mr. Kitterman was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS, the Eagles Club, Aerie #309, Lawrence, KS and the Graphic Printers Union #235, Kansas City, MO.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, of the home; two sons, David L., Albuquerque, NM and Lawrence E., McLouth, KS; two daughters, Patricia Ann Durkes, McLouth, KS and Janice E. Gonzalez, Livonia, MI; a brother, Glen, Odessa, MO; a sister, Gladys Moody, Galveston, TX; 8 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters.

George C. Bogard
George C. Bogard, 88, McLouth, KS, passed away Friday, December 30, 2005 at his home.
Memorial services for George will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, 4th and Delaware, Tonganoxie,KS. Private inurnment will be at McLouth Cemetery.
George was born September 11, 1917 in Shawnee, KS, the son of George E. and Grace Bogard. He was a WWII Army veteran, and a retired monument engraver. He was united in marriage to Rosalie Marie Bogard in 1947 in Wasquehall, France. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his grandson George Michael Bogard on July 13, 2000.
He is survived by two sons, George A. Bogard, Rockwell, TX, and Fred M. Bogard, McLouth, KS; one sister, Alice Nordhaus, Austin, TX; one grandson, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Helen Marie Eisermann
Helen Marie Eisermann, 79, Tonganoxie, KS died Friday, December 30, 2005 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church. Inurnment will be in Colorado.
Helen was born June 28, 1926 in Drexel, MO, the daughter of Dale and Edith (Shull) Riddle. She had worked as a waitress and machinist before retirement. She was an honorary Kansas Highway Patrolman and a member of the Wyandotte County Sherriff's Posse. In the 1970's Helen started baking cookies for Wyandotte Co. Sherriff's Dept. and K-DOT. By the 1980's, she was known state-wide as the "Cookie Lady". She was united in marriage January 5, 1980 in Tonganoxie, KS to Lawrence L. Eisermann. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary (Bobby) R. Bennett in 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of the home; son, Gary Bennett, Hiawatha, KS; two step-sons, David Scott, Indianapolis, IN and Leslie G. Eisermann, Junction City, KS; daughter, Tracy L. Washburn, Bayard, NE; two step-daughters, Mary Ann Larason, Goff, KS and Theda L. Eisermann, DeMoines, IA; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

Edward S. LaForce
Edward S. LaForce, 82, Basehor, KS passed away Sunday, December 25, 2005 at his home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2006 at Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor, KS.
Mr. LaForce was born December 28, 1922 in Wyandotte County, KS, the son of Walter and Margaret (Debus). He worked as a welder and machinist for the Board of Public Utilities, KC, KS and Kansas City Railroad Terminal, KC, MO. He served in the Merchant Marines in WW II. In 1965, he was united in marriage to Doris R. Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, of the home and brother, John P. LaForce, Philadelphia, PA.

Elsie June Shingleton
Elsie June Shingleton rejoined her husband Gale, on December 26, 2005 after spending Christmas with her family at her home in Tonganoxie. A long-time Alaskan, avid lover of animals and the great outdoors, she will be remembered by her surviving children Jerry, Robin, and Jim and their respective families.
A memorial service is planned for a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Douglas County Hospice, The Humane Society or any animal shelter.
