Regina G. Brunette
1923-2003
Memorial services for Regina G. (Pollard) Brunette, 79, Lawrence, were Saturday, July 19, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Private inurnment was at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Gladstone, Mich.
Ms. Brunette died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
She was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Escanaba, Mich., the daughter of Henry Joseph and Rose Anna (Viau) Brunette.
She moved to Kansas in 1941 to work at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. She had also worked at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator and was a nurse's aide at Lawrence Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Thomas J. Pollard, Lawrence; two daughters, Barbara Ann Roberts, Lawrence, and Jean M. Altis, Santa Paula, Calif.; two sisters, Iona Goodyear, Topeka, and Marie Lanaville, Port Huron, Mich.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of the funeral home.
Irene R. Donham
1918-2003
Funeral services for Irene Ruth Donham, 85, Gardner, were Saturday, July 19, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley.
Mrs. Donham, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Olathe Medical Center.
She was born April 30, 1918, in Eudora, the daughter of Edward and Agnes Keoller Mistele. She was a lifelong resident of the Gardner area.
Mrs. Donham graduated from Fairview Grade School in 1932. She graduated from Eudora High School in 1936 and attended two years at Central Business College.
She and her husband operated a dairy farm in Johnson County for 50 years. She also worked as a deputy clerk in the District Court of Johnson County. She then worked at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant in the purchasing department.
She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church, a charter member of the Docey Dandies Square Dance Club and a member of the Sunshine Club and Home Demonstration Unit.
Mrs. Donham served as secretary of the NEKS Horse Show Circuit, a member of the Mid America Dairy Association, sponsor and director of the Youth Horse Show at the Johnson County Fair, and was a 4-H leader for the Pioneer Club.
She married
Elmer C. Donham March 15, 1942, in San Diego, Calif. He died Feb. 2, 1989.
Survivors include a son, Larry W. Donham, Olathe; two daughters, Joyce Donham, Lawrence, and Carol J. Hatfield, Gardner; and two grandchildren.
Her brothers, Edward Mistele, Victor Mistele, Glen Mistele and Wayne Mistele, preceded her in death.

Harold E. Rodgers Jr.
1940-2003
Services for Harold E. "Junior" Rodgers, 63, were Saturday, July 12, at Columbine United Church, Littleton, Colo.
Mr. Rodgers died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Cherry Hills Health Care Center, Englewood, Colo.
He was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Rantoul, the son of Mable and Harold E. Rogers Sr. He grew up in De Soto and graduated from De Soto High School in 1958. He moved to Colorado with his family in the early 1970s.
Mr. Rodgers was a purchasing agent for the State of Colorado.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie Rodgers Zecchino, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a son, Jeff Rodgers, Ankeny, Iowa; two sisters, Louise Cox, Lawrence, and Doris Dooley, Olathe; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials in his name to Columbine United Church, 6375 S. Platte Canyon Rd., Littleton CO 80123. The church has set up a memorial fund to be used for De Soto High School athletes.
Ralph E. Burchett
1914-2003
Services for Ralph E. Burchett, 89, Arnold, Neb., were Wednesday, Aug. 27, at United Methodist Church in Arnold. Burial was in Arnold Cemetery.
Mr. Burchett died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Callaway District Hospital in Callaway, Neb.
He was born Feb. 11, 1914, in Plattsburg, Mo., the son of Joe and Ollie Belle (Coffman) Burchett. When he was 6 he moved with his family to Lawrence, where he graduated from high school.
Mr. Burchett began working as a baker at Drake's Bakery while in high school and later was promoted to manager. He became an interior decorator and worked as a home furnishings contractor for many years.
He worked at Hercules Ammunition Plant in De Soto from the 1960s until he retired in 1976.
He was a longtime member of Evangelical United Brethren Church, now United Methodist, in Lawrence, where he served in many offices. He was active in labor unions and served as president of a Lawrence-area union.
He married
Rosella Ilene Wilson on Sept. 3, 1936, in Lawrence. She died in 1971. He married
Hermeta George in 1976 and moved to Olathe. They separated because of health reasons in July 2000, and he moved to Arnold. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Nancy Cool, Arnold; a stepson, Dale George, Olathe; a stepdaughter, JoAnn Tarr, Overland Park; a grandson; four stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

Hazel A. Henick
1909-2003
Services for Hazel Alma Henick, 94, Lawrence, were Friday, Aug. 22, at Indian Hills Church of God. Burial was in Mount Sidney Cemetery, Linwood.
Miss Henick died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
She was born July 10, 1909, in Linwood, the daughter of Joseph and Laura Belle (Davenport) Henick. She moved to Lawrence at an early age and attended Lawrence Business College.
Miss Henick worked at the Kansas Statehouse, Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and Haskell Indian Nations University as a secretary. She was a member of Indian Hills Church of God.
Survivors include a cousin, Lola Torneden, Linwood.
Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence, was in charge of arrangements.
Gene Ousdahl
Funeral services for Eugene “Gene” Ousdahl, 66, Lawrence, KS will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday October 8, 2010 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park cemetery in Lawrence. He died on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at his home.
He was born on November 10, 1943 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Leo Edwin and Elvia Florence Garner Ousdahl.
Gene worked at Huxtable and Associates for over 16 years. He retired in November 2009 from Chaney as a Pipefitter where he worked for over 20 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and The Pipefitters Union Local #441 of Lawrence.
He married
Marilyn Blanck on June 7, 1962 in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons; Darren Ousdahl, Baldwin City, Chris Ousdahl, and wife, Deneise, Lawrence, KS; three grandsons, Branden, and wife Patti Ousdahl, Reilly Ousdahl, both of Baldwin City, and Aaron Ousdahl, Lawrence, KS; and three brother-in-laws, Gary Blanck, John Baldwin, both of Lawrence, Charles Yates, and wife Diana, Tonganoxie. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Gaston and Judy Baldwin.
The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorial contributions in his name to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care or to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
C. Vernon George
1935-2003
Services for C. Vernon George, 68, Topeka, were Thursday, Sept. 11, at West Side Christian Church, Topeka. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka.
Mr. George died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at St. Francis Health Center, Topeka.
He was born July 11, 1935, in Freedom, Mo., the son of Emile H. and Alice Marie (Jones) George.
He graduated from Everest High School in 1935. He worked as a tower operator for DuPont/Flexel for 35 years before retiring in 1997. He was a master wood worker.
Mr. George was a member of West Side Christian Church. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop No. 13 and committee member of Troop No. 357, all of Topeka.
He married
Y. Marcene Kuck on Nov. 11, 1956, in Hiawatha. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Julie Baldwin, De Soto; two sons, Herb George, Tonganoxie, and Charley George, Atchison; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to West Side Christian Property Department, 432 Lindenwood, Topeka 66606-1348.

Geraldine E. Meyer
1939-2001
Funeral services for Geraldine "Geri" Elizabeth Meyer, 61, Gardner, were Monday, April 16, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. Burial was in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth.
Mrs. Meyer died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at the Olathe Medical Center.
She was born August 29, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Roy Brown and Anna (Haase) Brown. She grew up in Minnesota.
She has also lived in Lawton, Okla., and Fayettville, N.C., and De Soto. She moved to Gardner in 1998. She was a graduate of Ramsey High School in St. Paul, Minn.
Mrs. Meyer was a bookkeeper at Scrippro in Mission, for one year. She had worked as a bookkeeper in the various locations where she had lived.
She married
Kenneth (Ken) Melvin Meyer on Nov. 8, 1960, in St. Paul, Minn.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of the New Life Church in Olathe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Barbara Flanigan and Pat Dreschler.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff R. Meyer, Ansbach, Germany, and Allen K. Meyer, Gardner; a daughter, Lisa Marie Wheatley, LaCygne; and seven grandchildren.

John E. Rogers
1922-2001
Funeral services for John Edward Rogers, 78, De Soto, were Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at the Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner. Burial was in De Soto Cemetery.
Mr. Rogers died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at his home.
He was born June 13, 1922, in Piper, the son of William Franklin Rogers and Nellie Lanora Douglas Rogers. He was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Rogers was a cement finisher and farmer. He worked for Local No. 0518 in Kansas City, Mo., of the Cement Masons.
As a young man, he worked on the Union Pacific Railroad.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of De Soto No. 6654, Cement Masons Local No. 0518, Kansas City, Mo., and the Disabled American Veterans.
He married
Roma June Plummer Rogers on March 21, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo. She died April 4, 2001.
Two brothers, Bill Rogers and Homer Rogers, and two sisters, Dorothy Stone and Tootie Shultz also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Rogers, De Soto; two daughters, Susie Kramer and Polly Rogers, both of De Soto; two sisters, Janie Lawson, De Soto; and Lavina Sopher, Bonner Springs; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
